    Hello. I have two question: I'm developing an iPhone application and I want to know when it is the first time the application is executed. I want to check some extended permissions from facebook the first time. How can I know that? (first question) Another way to solved this problem is to store the extended permissions granted in some configuration file. I don't want to make visible this file through app settings icon.   • What is the status of ZendX (Specifically ZendX_JQuery) ?

    I need to have an autocomplete functionality using jquery, and I've encountered ZendX_JQuery which has such functionality available. However, I've noticed that the entire ZendX_JQuery classes, are a bit old (the default jquery version is 1.3.2, and jquery ui 1.7.1). (see http://framework.zend.com/svn/framework/extras/branches/release-1.10/library/ZendX/JQuery.php) Should I use that instead of my own written code to include the jquery library and etc., and should I use the ZendX_JQuery_View_Helper_AutoComplete class for such functionality ?

  • XSLT fails to load huge XML doc after matching certain elements

    I'm trying to match certain elements using XSLT. My input document is very large and the source XML fails to load after processing the following code (consider especially the first line). <xsl:template match="XMI/XMI.content/Model_Management.Model/Foundation.Core.Namespace.ownedElement/Model_Management.Package/Foundation.Core.Namespace.ownedElement"> <rdf:RDF> <rdf:Description rdf:about=""> <xsl:for-each select="Foundation.Core.Class"> <xsl:for-each select="Foundation.Core.ModelElement.name"> <owl:Class rdf:ID="@Foundation.Core.ModelElement.name" /> </xsl:for-each> </xsl:for-each> </rdf:Description> </rdf:RDF> </xsl:template> Apparently the XSLT fails to load after "Model_Management.Model". The PHP code is as follows: if ($xml->loadXML($source_xml) == false) { die('Failed to load source XML: ' . $http_file); } It then fails to perform loadXML and immediately dies. I think there are two options now. 1) I should set a maximum executing time. Frankly, I don't know how that I do this for the built-in PHP 5 XSLT processor. 2) Think about another way to match.   • Can Log4net have multiple appenders write to the same file?

    I'm using a RollingFileAppender to log some info to a file with a conversionPattern (in the web.config) that looks like this for the header of each log section: <conversionPattern value="%date - %property{userId} - %property{method}%newline--------------------------------%newline%message%newline%newline"/> I'd like to log details under this header as bullet points. I'm currently trying to use another RollingFileAppender that logs to the same file with a simple conversionPattern of just a dash, like this: <conversionPattern value="- %message%newline"/> But these messages aren't making it into the log file. I'm using Log.Info() for the header and Log.Debug() for the bullet points and filtering each appender on their respective log levels. Is what I'm trying to do possible? Or is there a better way to get header and detail information into a log file from log4net?

  • Can I turn off an Apache Directive then turn it on in an include?

    I have a VirtualHost block that includes common configuration items, one directive is ProxyPreserveHost. Can I "procedurally" turn off ProxyPreserveHost for a Rewrite directive then have the include turn it back on? For example: <VirtualHost *:80> ServerName www.blah.com ... ... ProxyPreserveHost off RewriteRule /somepath http://otherhost/otherpath [P] Include /path/to/file/turning-on-ProxyPreserveHost </VirtualHost> The otherhost is on a CDN and preserving the host is creating some name resolution issue that is not allowing the proxying of content in the host namespace. ProxyReserveHost is only allowed in a Server Config or VirtualHost. It doesn't look like I can selectively turn it off for the ProxyPass and ProxyPassReverse directives (encapsulated in the proxy flag of mod_rewrite).

    I have an application that is on .net 2.0 and I am having some difficult with it as I am more use to linq. How could I count how many "file" ELEMENTS I have (count them before entering the foreach ofc) and read their attributes ? I need the count because it will be used to update the progress bar. Overall it is not reading my xml very well.

    This is what I see when I visit my web site. How do I instead get the Yellow Screen of Death so I know what the error is? I have GoDaddy shared hosting and I think the problem is that I don't have the correct MVC binaries in the /bin folder. First of all, is the XML correct? Is the path expressed correctly? Second of all, why is this error occurring on one computer but not on another?

  • managing html rich text selections

    Hi, I am writing a component for a web app which will display some html, and let me capture and manipulate the selection boundaries (of the text selected by the user). I have done this successfully (for Mozilla) with a simple div element using window.getSelection(). However, the browser selection API is different for IE. If I were to use a textarea instead (for interacting with the selection api), is there a uniform API across the browsers? Then I would need to overlay a DIV on top of this to display the styled text, and presumably I'd need to manage the cursor etc... Basically I want a rich text editor - but without editing. Does anyone have any advice on the best way to go about this, which is quick, simple and cross browser compatible. I don't want to spend ages reinventing the wheel... (If anyone's interested - this is for an online xml editor. I capture the users selection on a html version of the xml doc and then send the selection offsets info to the server, where the real xml doc gets marked up). Kind Regards Swami

  • Easily (as in WYSIWYG) customize the docbook output

    I've used DocBook in the past and I love the idea behind the separation of content from presentation. I am very comfortable editing XML directly. In my extensive search to find the best documenting solution for my needs I am always coming back to this one solution: DocBook - Build system (ant, make, etc.) - Output I have seen lots of information concerning the best WYSIWYG, XML, Text editors for writing DocBook including alternative markup languages like asciidoc. All these solutions focus on the creation of DocBook or the nightmare of the DocBook tool chain. No one ever addresses the Output side other then to say "Just use XSL" or "Custom scripts" When tasked to make a document or manual I don't want to worry about spending countless hours attempting to reprogram, customize, and modify the XSL, CSS, and shell scripts (i.e. O'Riely books). That is a very arduous task. My query: is there a tool that makes the customizing easier? And is there anything that could be similar to say Pages or Word in that the user creates a template and the tool chain does the rest? Attempting to do a visual task like pretty logos and fixing all the broken layouts that the default XSL comes up with (pagination is a mess) is very difficult from a text editor. Content is easy. Editing DocBook XSL was truly a nightmare when I did it in the past. I've searched and I find lots of info on XML editors but nothing on XSL editors. Or am I lacking a key understanding of the process. Thanks.

  • Use XML Layout to contain a simple drawing

    I would like to create a simple drawing (lines, circles, squares, etc...) but I'm having difficulty figuring out the best way to do this. The drawing would need to be scaled to fit the display since the size is indirectly specified by the user (like in a CAD application). Also, I don't want to take up the entire display, leaving room for some controls (buttons, etc). I would pass the data to describe the drawing. Here's how I imagine it would work. I create an XML layout that contains something that holds the drawing (ImageView, BitmapDrawable, ShapeDrawable, ...??? not sure exactly what). Then in my Activity I would load the main XML and obtain the resource for the control that holds the drawing. I would then draw to a bitmap. Once the bitmap was completed I would load it into the control that is to hold the drawing. Somewhere along this path it would be scaled to fill the entire area allocated for the drawing in the XML layout. I don't know if my approach is the way to do this or what classes to use. I read the http://developer.android.com/guide/topics/graphics/2d-graphics.html documentation, but it's not helping me with an example. The examples I do find leave me with hints, but nothing concrete enough to do what I want, especially when it comes to scaling, using XML and/or having other controls. Also, there seems to be no good documentation on the design of the 2D drawing system in a more conceptual manner, so it makes what I read difficult to put into any useful context. Any hints on what classes would be useful and/or a good example any other reading materials? Thanks
