  When you’re working with Web SSO integration, sometimes it’s helpful to be able to decode the tokens that get passed around via the browser from the various participants in the trust – RP, STS, etc. With SAML tokens, sometimes they’re simply base64 encoded when they’re in the POST body; other times they’re part of the query string, which they end up being base64encoded, deflated, then Url encoded.   I'm about to embark on a 2D gaming project. Initially, I'll be targeting iPhone and Facebook, but would like to expand the rollout to include Android (and possibly Windows Phone) in a future phase. Flash and Unity seem to be the most likely suspects, but is one better than the other? Are there pros/cons that may not be obvious at first glance? Are there frameworks that I have not considered? I am primarily a .NET developer, so the Unity C# integration is appealling. But I also have experience with AS3, JavaScript and Objective-C. Rich

• How to fix LibreOffice 3.5 to start from launcher icon?

  Recently I installed LibreOffice 3.5 from debs (including the ones for desktop integration. Since then it behaves in a weird manner. Basically it won't launch from launcher shortcuts. Example: dash libreoffice launched (launcher shows with 2 seconds delay) 'keep in launcher' LO closed the LO icon on the launcher clicked pulsating for 5 seconds, then stops LO didn't launch I didn't look for open processes or anything and... dash libreoffice launched immediately without problems It also didn't remember recently opened items, but now it got fixed somehow. Other symptoms: - icon on the launcher and all menu categories appear with a delay of few seconds - two writer icons appear on the launcher What I did: used 3.4.5, uninstalled, installed 3.5 RC3, problems started to occur uninstalled RC3 'clean' per http://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Installing_LibreOffice_on_Linux#Debian_.2F_Ubuntu_3 installed 3.5 stable which is identical to RC3 still same issues I don't know if it is related but I use Unity test PPA:vanvugt/unity which I needed to solve the stuttering windows bug. Any ideas?

  We released the latest Application Management Pack and Application Change Management Packs for Oracle E-Business Suite 4.0 for Oracle Enterprise Manager 11g earlier this year for Linux platforms.  This pair of packs is released as part of the Application Management Suite for Oracle E-Business Suite.  These two packs are also referred to as the Oracle E-Business Suite Plug-in 4.0 for OEM 11g.   It seems to me that everyone uses NUnit without even considering the other options. I think this is because: Everyone is familiar with it already so they won't have to learn a new API. It is already set up with their continuous integration server to work with NUnit. Am I wrong about this? I decided to use xUnit on one of my own projects recently and I love it! It makes so much more sense to me and conceptually it seems like a definite step forward from NUnit. I'd like to hear opinions on which framework is actually the best - not taking into consideration having to learn it or reconfigure your automated testing.

  I work on a well-established, embedded C++ code base. We have been using a proprietary API to our filesystem. For better integration with third-party C libraries, we are currently in the process of implementing most of stdio.h and fcntl.h. I made what I thought was a non-controversial proposal that we should also implement the fstream class and encourage new C++ code to use it instead of the new (to our code base) C-style API. We already have the stdout parts of iostream available, although it is not widely used. Given a choice between using stdio and fstream, what are good reasons to choose stdio for embedded software development in C++?

  Today Oracle announced the Oracle Java Embedded Suite 7.0. What is the Java Embedded Suite (JES)? It's a middleware stack designed to be run on embedded devices. It's a suite which includes an application server (Glassfish for Embedded Suite), database (Java DB), and web services (Jersey Web Services Framework). Putting these services on the embedded device gives you the ability to provide a set of services at the device point.   Oracle Enterprise Pack for Eclipse 12c (12.1.1.1.1) includes updated support for development with the Java Cloud Service. Users can now do iterative development against their Java Cloud Service instance in addition to testing against local and remote WebLogic Server installations. Some details of the cloud tools are below: Templates and wizards to create projects and server configurations for Oracle Java Cloud Service Develop applications to run and deploy to the cloud, including Oracle ADF. Check cloud server runtime and deployment logs in new log analyzers Test applications before deployment with integrated whitelist scans. Whitelist tools support as-you-type validation, project build validation, and on demand scans to highlight coding violations.
