If I archive an email in GMail, it only appears in my "All Mail" folder alongside non-archived emails.
Is there any way to set up a filter for just the archived messages?
As I know for now because of laws of Physics there will be not any tangible improvements in CPU cycles per second for the nearest future. However because of Von Neumann bottleneck it seems to not be an issue for non-server applications. So what about RAM, is there any upcoming technologies that promise to improve memory speed or we are stack with the current situation till quantum computers will come out from labs?
FUSE filesystem list show some FuseFat and FatFuse. Both are old, FatFuse is read-only , FuseFat is non-buildable and probably depends on glib.
Now I'm using mountlo for the task (mounting USB drives in generic way without root access or suid things (except of fusermount itself)), but it looks too big for such task.
Is there good vfat FUSE driver?

Hiding non-user accounts in Windows 7

Can anyone please tell me how to hide admin account from the welcome screen without disabling it?
I'm using Windows 7 Home Basic.
My power button is non responsive I am getting LED for charging. I've taken it apart before to change the dc jack and it was fine and a few months later it just powered off. I try to power back on and is goes to start up then shuts off. I just took it apart and came to find the ribbon cable connecting the power button/speakers cover is barely hanging on do I have to replace the whole thing or is there a way to replace the ribbon cable?
I am using http://www.pnotepad.org/ (i wouldnt mind switching to something else if it lightweight and has most/all features i like which i'll check on a app by app basis)
When i create a new tab/file and save it unless i write .txt i get a file with no extention. Which makes it hard to open since i cant double click it (i dont think i can tell win7 to set a default app for files with no extension)
How do i make pnotepad save with a .txt when non are specified?
I have a laptop with a LAMP setup. The HDD is slow, which causes my unit tests to run slowly.
I was wondering whether I could mount the web root the mysql database on some kind of ramdisk.
From what I have read of ramdisks, they are non-persistent.
Is there anyway to create a ramdisk that writes changes to an area of the hdd when shutting down and re-mounts the ramdisk on bootup?
Back in Windows 95 OSR2 (I believe), there was a conversion tool that would take your extant FAT16 partition and change it to FAT32 non-destructively (most of the time).
Are there any tools like that now for going from one file system type to another in situ without destroying the data?
For example, from etx3 to ext4? Or NTFS to XFS?
Is there any emulator that allows to treat all non-PS/2 mouse activities as if I had one? I.e. if I have a usb mouse but it could be reached by interacting with PS/2 port.
I was trying to follow the instructions found here to set up a catch-all account, but still I get the following message for mails sent to non-existent users:
The error that the other server returned was: 550 550 5.1.1 [email protected]... User unknown (state 14).
Everything else works, though... /etc/mail/local-host-names and /etc/mail/virtusertable were set up as instructed. Any advice? Thanks!
I'm going through the https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/RAID guide in here, but I'm stuck on Partition Tables.
Since my drives are 3TB, fdisk and cfdisk won't cut it due to their 2GB limit, but they are straight forward when managing partitions - adding da or fd as types.
But, there is not that straight forward guide for RAID partition setup with parted.
So, how do I make Non-FS or RAID partition with parted?
We're using Microsoft Outlook 2003/2007 with NON-EXHCANGE mailboxes, stored in PST files.
Is there a way to quickly add a large number of senders from the inbox to the users contact list?
I was thinking to export all the senders from the inbox in the PST file to a list and then so use scripting to add them all to the contact list, or perhaps arrange in CSV and import.
Any advice is highly appreciated.
I have a windows 7 machine that won't boot completely, even in safe mode. I want to re-image the machine using a generic software image, but would like to keep the user data (including settings etc) that are on there ala Windows Easy Transfer. I can mount the hard disk on another machine - can I use Easy Transfer to transfer the user state of an account on the non-booted OS? Or do I need explore USMT?
I'm trying to delete remote duplicate files without transferring the non-existing files, and without updating the existing files.
If I specify both --existing and --ignore-existing (along with "-av --remove-source-files", the operation is a no-op and nothing will be transfered, but nothing will be deleted either.
The best I got so far is to make a local copy of destination, use rsync without --ignore-existing, then rsync my local copy on top of the destination
Hi everyone,
I can't seem to find a list of all event IDs related to DCM in SCCM. I managed to find the common ones by testing but I'm sure there are tons of scenarios I haven't seen yet.
I'm interested in events related to compliance status, errors, etc in particular such as these:
11854 - Policy is now compliant
11856 - Previously compliant is now non compliant..
Please post any other event IDs you know of related to this..
Thank you
Are there any published (or non-published) best practices with using Resource Pools in a View environment? Using Shares/Limits etc...Also, when installing the VMTools on a desktop, are there any best practice configurations with running the tools within a desktop?Resource Pools and VMTools Best Practices
People who use OpenDNS and go to a non-existing domain are getting a nice fancy search page telling them that the domain doesn't exists instead of the browser error page.
here in my home network we have a win 2008-r2 server with the dns role enabled. Is there any way to make my own fancy looking error page to show up at all computers when they enter a domain not found by the local dns server and the Forwarders / root hints servers?
-- David,
I've configured an Apache httpd server (v2.2) as a reverse proxy (with SSL) to a Microsoft IIS website running an ASP.NET application with SQL Server Report Services.
The proxy mostly works but Report Viewer reports aren't being proxied, all I get is a square window in Chrome and in IE I get the following error:
This page contains both secure and nonsecure items. Do you want to display the non secure items?
I click yes then I get the following:
Unable to locate control: ReportFrame_ctl0_plchldrMainContent_1_ReportViewer1.
Hey all,
If I have a router that has "mixed mode" enabled to allow b, g, and n devices, it is true that n devices will suffer in reduced bandwidth if there are any non-n devices connected?
I found one article on the internet after a quick google search:
http://www.wi-fiplanet.com/news/article.php/3335801
Can anyone corroborate or give their opinion on the matter?
Thanks!
Say you have a directory with tens of thousands of messages in it. And you want to separate the spam from the non-spam.
Specifically, you would like to:
Run spamassassin against the directory, tagging each message with an X-Spam-Flag: YES if it thinks it's spam
Have a tcsh shell or perl one-liner grep all mail with the flag and move those mails to /tmp/spam
What command can you run to accomplish this? For example, some pseudocode:
/usr/local/bin/spamassassin -eL ./Maildir/cur/* | grep "X-Spam-Flag: YES" | mv %1 /tmp/spam
I'm setting up a custom 403.4 handler so that non-SSL requests to my site are redirected to a different URL - and what I'd like to do is to include the script path and query string in the redirect, so that a user who requests http://www.site.com/foo?bar=1 will be redirected to https://www.site.com/foo?bar=1
I know something similar is possible when configuring a top-level site redirect, using the $S, $Q, %v tokens referred to in this IIS reference page - but this syntax doesn't seem to work when configuring a custom error redirect.
I have an OpenOffice spreadsheet into which I occasionally copy/paste snippets from web pages. However, I need the file, as a whole, to be free of fancy formatting and non-ASCII text. Is tried highlighting cells and selecting "Default Formatting" but this still seems to keep extraneous characters even though it looks like normal text to the human eye.
If this is not possible, is there a way to at least reveal the "raw" data within a cell so that I can manually strip it?
Thanks,
Jeff
When saving a document in Office, you are given the option of saving locally or to your SkyDrive account.
Presumably, it's possible to add additional locations to this menu (Dropbox, etc.).
Is this possible in the Live Preview, and how does one accomplish this?
Edit: when I asked this question, I was not logged into a Live account. I have since logged in and discovered services may be added to the logged-in account, however Dropbox (and non-MS services) are not offered.

What are the new shortcuts for Windows 8?
There are lots of new UI elements in Windows 8 such as the 'Charms Bar' and the fact that the Desktop is treated as an app.
Some elements are easier than others to access on a non-touch screen enabled device such as a standard desktop PC or laptop equipped with a keyboard and mouse.
What are some useful shortcut keys that utilise the Windows Key (Win) to make using Windows 8 easier via a keyboard and mouse?
