  • What is the most efficient way to determine if a directed graph is singly connected?

    I am working on an assignment where one of the problems asks to derive an algorithm to check if a directed graph G=(V,E) is singly connected (there is at most one simple path from u to v for all distinct vertices u,v of V. Of course you can brute force check it, which is what I'm doing right now, but I want to know if there's a more efficient way. Could anyone point me in the right direction?

  • problem with pagestate when two links in aspx page

    I have two links in my aspx page. one link "A" when i click it ...it is downloading some document when i click it other link "B" when I click it ....it redirects me to some other page. Both links triggers function from code behind. Both links works fine when i first come onto page but when i click A it shows me message to download it "open" "save" "cancel" problem is when i click cancel I remain on the same page but now no links work neither link A nor link B. I guess there is some problem with the state my page is in . How i can avoid this? But I checked, operations is not a subsite. Then what is it. In my application, I always get Home-- Operations. To add to trouble,it changes the name at the top as Operations.     . . Hi there, everybody. . . I need to do an app to be distributed ad hoc (it doesn't need to go to the store) but I need to get the information about the "data usage" (gprs/3g traffic). It is available on the system, but there is no official API call to get that info. One app made it through Apple testing (it's called "Download Meter"), though, and I emailed the guys to see if they would share the call, but they were not in that mood. . . Is there any list of private APIs or anything like that? Does anyone have any ideas of how could I get that info? Again: the app doesn't need to go to the store, but I need to install it on stock iPhone (ad hoc will do). . Thanks.

    Hi I am trying to set the value of a field on a ListItem in an event receiver but its not working All i am doing during the event is properties.AfterProperties[<field internal name>] = 1; No errors are thrown but the the field i'm setting does not change. I have also tried properties.ListItem[<field internal name>] = 1; properties.ListItem.Update(); Have also tried SystemUpdate(); I know i am meant to be setting the afterproperties but think i am missing an obvious step.   • Redirect print in Python: val = print(arg) to output mixed iterable to file

    So lets say I have an incredibly nested iterable of lists/dictionaries. I would like to print them to a file as easily as possible. Why can't I just redirect print to a file? val = print(arg) gets a SyntaxError. Is there a way to access stdinput? And why does print take forever with massive strings? Bad programming on my side for outputting massive strings, but quick debugging--and isn't that leveraging the strength of an interactive prompt? There's probably also an easier way than my gripe. Has the hive-mind an answer?

    How can I get a list of the IP addresses or host names from a local network easily in Python? It would be best if it was multi-platform, but it needs to work on Mac OS X first, then others follow. Edit: By local I mean all active addresses within a local network, such as 192.168.xxx.xxx. So, if the IP address of my computer (within the local network) is 192.168.1.1, and I have three other connected computers, I would want it to return the IP addresses 192.168.1.2, 192.168.1.3, 192.168.1.4, and possibly their hostnames.

    I know that cons returns a seq and conj returns a collection. I also know that conj "adds" the item to the optimal end of the collection, and cons always "adds" the item to the front. This example illustrates both of these points: user=> (conj [1 2 3] 4) //returns a collection [1 2 3 4] user=> (cons 4 [1 2 3]) //returns a seq (4 1 2 3) For vectors, maps, and sets these differences make sense to me. However, for lists they seem identical. user=> (conj '(3 2 1) 4) (4 3 2 1) user=> (cons 4 '(3 2 1)) (4 3 2 1) Are there any examples using lists where conj vs. cons exhibit different behaviors, or are they truly interchangeable? Phrased differently, is there an example where a list and a seq cannot be used equivalently?

I started with for /d /r %a in ('dir *.joe /b') do @echo %a >> dir_list.txt and it looked like it wasn't executing the dir command. I added the "usebackq", but that seems to only work for the /F command extension. Ideas?

So I’ve added this IEqualityComparer<T> class to compare values: class ProductComparer : IEqualityComparer<Product> { public bool Equals(Product x, Product y) { if (Object.ReferenceEquals(x, y)) return true; if (Object.ReferenceEquals(x, null) || Object.ReferenceEquals(y, null)) return false; return x.Make == y.Make && x.Model == y.Model; } public int GetHashCode(Product product) { if (Object.ReferenceEquals(product, null)) return 0; int hashProductName = product.Make == null ? 0 : product.Make.GetHashCode(); int hashProductCode = product.Model.GetHashCode(); return hashProductName ^ hashProductCode; } }   After that you can then bind the GridView like this: protected void Page_Load(object sender, EventArgs e) { if (!IsPostBack) { Gridview1.DataSource = GetProducts().Distinct(new ProductComparer()); Gridview1.DataBind(); } }   Running the page will give you the desired output below: As you notice, it now eliminates the duplicate rows in the GridView. Now what if we only want to get the distinct values for a certain field. For example I want to get the distinct “Make” values such as Samsung, Apple, HTC, Nokia and Sony Ericsson and populate them to a DropDownList control for filtering purposes. I was hoping the the Distinct operator has an overload that can compare values based on the property value like (GetProducts().Distinct(o => o.PropertyToCompare). But unfortunately it doesn’t provide that overload so what I did as a workaround is to use the GroupBy,Select and First LINQ query operators to achieve what I want. Here’s the code to get the distinct values of a certain field. protected void Page_Load(object sender, EventArgs e) { if (!IsPostBack) { DropDownList1.DataSource = GetProducts().GroupBy(o => o.Make).Select(o => o.First()); DropDownList1.DataTextField = "Make"; DropDownList1.DataValueField = "Model"; DropDownList1.DataBind(); } } Running the code will display the following output below:   That’s it!
