  • Maven: use dependencies from repository when running command line app ?

    Hi, I've used Maven to build my command line application. Now I'm going to distribute it as a jar file, and I need to handle the app's dependencies. I don't want to include all dependencies in the jar file as described here. The environment where my app will be run has Maven. I'd like Maven to run my jar looking at file META-INF/groupId/artifactId/pom.xml inside the package so it knows what the dependencies are and can find them in the repository. Any ideas ?

  • How to define a constant when running script/server?

    I want to start up my Rails development server like this: script/server OFFLINE_MODE=1 and have a method that checks for the presence of that constant: helper_method :offline_mode? def offline_mode? defined?(OFFLINE_MODE) ? true : false end so I can hide stuff in my app when I'm coding without access to the internet. For some reason though, OFFLINE_MODE doesn't ever seem to be defined and the method always returns false.. thoughts?

  • MATLAB: Can axes tick labels be accesed as text objects?

    I'm curious is it possible to change text properties of tick labels independently of axes properties. Do they have handles? I'd like to control their position better, alignment, color, fonts, etc. I know I can substitute them with text labels, but it has some drawbacks. Any alternative solutions? Particularly, is it possible to put xticklabels between ticks, that are irregular? plot(1:100) set(gca,'xtick',[30 45 53 70 95]) grid on I need to put xticklabels in the middle between grids.

    I need to create simple pagination of objects, but when I read manual I found out that query.setRange(5, 10); will fetch 10 objects, even when only 5 objects are needed.   • Forms blank when rendering a partial when using a collection of objects. Help!

    Alright, I know my title is a little obscure but it best describes the problem I am having. Essentially, I have a list of users, and want to be able to edit their information in-line using AJAX. Since the users are showing up in rows, I am using a partial to render the data and the forms (which will be hidden initially by the ajax), however, when the rows are rendered currently only the last item has it's form's fields populated. I suspect this has something to do with the fact that all the form fields have the same id's and it is confusing the DOM. But I don't know how to make sure the id's are unique. Here is a small example: In my view: <%= render :partial => 'shared/user', :collection => @users %> My partial (broke down to just the form) note that I am using the local variable "user" <% form_for user, :html => {:multipart => true} do |f| -%> <%= f.label :name, "Name*" %> <%= f.text_field :title, :class => "input" %> <%= f.label :Address, "Address" %> <%= f.text_field :address, :class => "input" %> <%= f.label :description, "Description*" %> <%= f.text_area :description, :class => "input" %> <% end -%> When the html is rendered each form has a unique id (for the id of the user) but the elements themselves all have the same id, and only the last user form is actually getting populated with values.   • AIR app still running when the iphone is blocked?

    I just made a simple game with flash professional 6.0 and adobe AIR sdk 3.4 for iPhone. The problem is this: when I lock the iphone pressing the power button, the screen switches off as usual, but the music of the game still sounds. If I exit the game pressing the home button it exits fine. Is only when locking the phone with the app opened. Also, I opted-out of multitasking for my app, so if I close my app with the home button and I reload it, it loads the main menu. Anyone knows how can I solve this?

    I have a data model that is something like this: public class Report { // report owner private User user; ... typical getter setter ... } public class User { ... omitted for clarity } What happens is when a report is created, the current user is set to the report user object. When the report is edited, the spring controller handling the POST request is receiving a report where the user object is null. Here is what my controller looks like: @Controller @RequestMapping("/report") public class ReportController { @RequestMapping(value = "/edit/{id}", method = RequestMethod.GET) public String editReport(@PathVariable Long id, Model model) { Report r = backend.getReport(id); // fully loads object model.addAttribute("report", report); return "report/edit"; } @RequestMapping(value = "/edit/{id}", method = RequestMethod.POST) public String process(@ModelAttribute("report") Report r) { backend.save(r); return "redirect:/report/show" + r.getId(); } } I ran things throw the debugger and it looks like in the editReport method the model object is storing the fully loaded report object (I can see the user inside the report). On the form jsp I can do the following: ${report.user.username} and the correct result is rendered. However, when I look at the debugger in the process method, the passed in Report r has a null user. I don't need to do any special data binding to ensure that information is retained do I?

  • How to break out of a loop depending on a CheckBox Checked value while the loop is running?

    Lets say I want to call a function repeatedly if the user selects a CheckBox named "repeat" but the calls to the function should stop as soon as the user 'unchecks' the CheckBox. I tried using the 'Checked', 'Click' and 'Tap' event of the CheckBox but once the loop starts, it does not sense any changes in the checkbox's state. I even tried using a loop inside another button's _Click method, but then that creates a lock on the Button's 'pressed' state. Any ideas/alternate suggestions?

How should I be storing my visited cells, So that I can access them from reverse order of when I placed them in. Like this? List<Location> visitedCells = new ArrayList<Location>(); Then do I grab with visitedCells.get(visitedCells.size()-1)? Location stores the x, y and z. Not something Im trying to ask you.

  • How to compare DateTime Objects while looping through a list?

    I'm trying to loop through a list (csv) containing two fields; a name and a date. There are various duplicated names and various dates in the list. I'm trying to deduce for each name in the list, where there are multiple instances of the same name, which corresponding date is the latest. I realise, from looking at another answer, that I need to use the DateTime.Compare method which is fine, but my problem is working out which date is later. Once I know this I need to produce a file with unique names and the latest date relating to it. This is my first question which makes me a newbie. EDIT: Initially I thought it would be 'ok' to set the LatestDate object to a date that wouldn't show up in my file, therefore making any later dates in the file the LatestDate.     I'm pondering a question on Brainbench. I actually realised that I could answer my question easily by compiling the code, but it's an interesting question nonetheless, so I'll ask the question anyway and answer it myself shortly. Take a look at this snippet: The question considers what happens when we throw from a destructor (which causes terminate() to be called). It's become clear to me by asking the question that the memory is indeed freed and the destructor is called, but, is this before or after throw is called from foo? Perhaps the issue here is that throw is used while the stack is unwinding that is the problem... Actually this is slightly confusing.

  • What can cause Java to keep running after System.exit()?

    I have a Java program which is being started via ProcessBuilder from another Java program. System.exit(0) is called from the child program, but for some of our users (on Windows) the java.exe process associated with the child doesn't terminate. The child program has no shutdown hooks, nor does it have a SecurityManager which might stop System.exit() from terminating the VM. I can't reproduce the problem myself on Linux or Windows Vista. So far, the only reports of the problem come from two Windows XP users and one Vista user, using two different JREs (1.6.0_15 and 1.6.0_18), but they're able to reproduce the problem every time. Can anyone suggest reasons why the JVM would fail to terminate after System.exit(), and then only on some machines?

  • Oracle SQL: Multiple Subqueries Unioned Without Running Original Query Multiple Times.

    So I've got a very large database, and need to work on a subset ~1% of the data to dump into an excel spreadsheet to make a graph. Ideally, I could select out the subset of data and then run multiple select queries on that, which are then UNION'ed together. Is this even possible? I can't seem to find anyone else trying to do this and would improve the performance of my current query quite a bit. Right now I have something like this: SELECT ( SELECT ( SELECT( long list of requirements ) UNION SELECT( slightly different long list of requirements ) ) ) and it would be nice if i could group the commonalities of the two long requirements and have simple differences between the two select statements being unioned.

  • Member variable in C++ class that is always constant for all objects of that class?

    I'm constructing a class where I have three member variables that I want to always be the same value NO MATTER WHAT. I have class foo{ public: double var_1, var_2, var_3; double x=1, y=2, z=3; [functions go here] }; that gave me an error since I can't initialize a variable like that. But I want x, y and z to always be 1, 2 and 3 respectively. I tried defining them outside the class but that doesn't work since I want them to be member variables of the class. How do I do this?

After many images the creation of a bitmap returns an exception, but i don't know how to solve this.
