    I have a asp FileUpload control in my aspx page. Now, I'm required to do the "check-extension" in the other way: at the moment the client click and choose FileUpload, an alert show "Extension of files are not allowed.". I need a way to make an alert show at the momment the FileUpload choosed in browser. Help!!!!

I've read a couple pages that referenced refreshing the DOM after the javascript runs, but I haven't been able to successfully do it (I know enough about javascript to hack things around and get stuff working, but not enough to create whole new things). It is worth noting that Silverlight doesn't work with Internet Explorer 8 or Safari (not sure if it's my code, mejs, or the browsers). Also, neither Silverlight nor Flash play mp3 or webm (again, not sure where the problem lies). Is there a way to dynamically load different types of files into mediaelement?

  • python: simple example for a python egg with a one-file source file?

    I'm not quite sure how to build a really simple one-file source module. Is there a sample module out there one the web somewhere which can be built as a python .egg? From the setuptools page it looks pretty simple, you just have your setup.py file and then at least one other .py file somewhere, and I can build an .egg file OK, and even install it using easy_install, but I can't seem to import the file from within python. (note: using 2.6.4)

    hi there, I need to read a text file when I start my program. I'm using eclipse and started a new java project. In my project folder I got the "src" folder and the standard "JRE System Library"... I just don't know where to put the text file. I cannot use a "hard coded" path because the text file needs to be included with my app... I also tried to create a new folder like "Files" and use the pathe "Files/staedteliste.txt".. doesn't work too... However, the catch is that I need it to exist there immediately upon upload so I can moniter it on my server. I don't want to use a PHP extension or something - this should be very easy to transfer to any PHP setup. So basically: Is there a way to guarantee that, from the very beginning of the file upload process, the file has a certain name and location on the server?

  • accessing files after setup.py install

    I'm developing a python application and have a question regarding coding it so that it still works after an user has installed it on his or her machine via setup.py install or similar. In one of my files, I use the following: file = "TestParser/View/MainWindow.ui" cwd = os.getcwd() argv_path = os.path.dirname(sys.argv[0]) file_path = os.path.join(cwd, argv_path, file) in order to get the path to MainWindow.ui, when I only know the path relative to the main script's location. This works regardless of from where I call the main script. The issue is that after an user installs the application on his or her machine, the relative path is different, so this doesn't work. I could use __file__, but according to this, py2exe doesn't have __file__. Is there a standard way of achieving this? Or a better way?

  • Wine: How to open a whole folder, not a single file?

    I am using foobar2000 under my Ubuntu with Wine since… I don't know. Now, with the new Ubuntu 12.10 release foobar2000 was not starting anymore correctly so I reinstalled it (foobar2000 1.1.15, wine 1.4). Naturally I have to set up my foobar2000 configuration from scratch but thats not a problem at all. Everything works fine except adding whole folders to the music library using the Add-button under "File-Preferences-Media Library". Problem is one can only open files with the Add-dialog but not a whole folder. Under Windows everything works fine. Editing the foobar2000 configuration file ([foobar2000-folder]/configuration/Core.cfg) by hand does not work… I also tried it with a hex editor. :( So… what can I do? Thanks. :)

    Hi, I am creating a Zip file from a folder (and subfolders). it works fine and creates a new .zip file also but I am having an issue while using glob.glob. It is reading all files from the desired folder (source folder) and writing to the new zip file but the problem is that it is, however, adding subdirectories, but not adding files form the subdirectories. I am giving user an option to select the filename and path as well as filetype also (Zip or Tar). I don;t get any problem while creating .tar.gz file, but when use creates .zip file, this problem comes across. Here is my code: for name in (Source_Dir): for name in glob.glob("/path/to/source/dir/*" ): myZip.write(name, os.path.basename(name), zipfile.ZIP_DEFLATED) myZip.close() Also, if I use code below: for dirpath, dirnames, filenames in os.walk(Source_Dir): myZip.write(os.path.join(dirpath, filename) os.path.basename(filename)) myZip.close() Now the 2nd code taks all files even if it inside the folder/ subfolders, creates a new .zip file and write to it without any directory strucure. It even does not take dir structure for main folder and simply write all files from main dir or subdir to that .zip file. Can anyone please help me or suggest me.     I'm having a little problem with executing *.cmd files so I can execute them anywhere on the computer with cmd. What I exactly want is to execute the less.cmd file, which support optional arguments and uses lessc.wsf (Less.js compiler for Windows Script Host) for converting less css to pure css. The less.cmd contains: ::For convenience @cscript //nologo "%~dp0lessc.wsf" %* What I've done so far: added absolute path to lessc.cmd to the PATH system variable and moved .cmd in the PATHTEXT system variable to the beginning. Also did this: From a command prompt; assoc .bat should return with ..bat=batfile If not assoc .bat=batfile to restore the default file type association. ftype batfile should return with batfile="%1" %* If not ftype batfile="%1" %* to restore the default "Open" action for the file type. This still doesn't work unless I approach the cmd file with a absolute path in cmd, if I enter lessc anywhere else then I get C:\Intel Intel is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file. , I've restarted my computer more than once to be sure changes will take effect. I hope somebody has the answer.

    Let me first describe my situation, I am working on a Linux platform and have a collection of .bmp files that add one to the picture number from filename0022.bmp up to filename0680.bmp. So a total of 658 pictures. I want to be able to run each of these pictures through a .exe file that operates on the picture then kicks out the file to a file specified by the user, it also has some threshold arguments: lower, upper. So the typical call for the executable is: ./filter inputfile outputfile lower upper Is there a way that I can loop this call over all the files just from the terminal or by creating some kind of bash script?     I am using the FileVersionInfo to retrieve the version of a .Net assembly. Then, I want to immediately delete the file. Unfortunately after I call GetVersionInfo, any attempt to delete the file results in an error “…in use by another process…” Is there another technique to determine the version that does not lock the file? Or, is it possible to ensure the lock is released after calling GetVersionInfo?   • Interface for reading variable length files with header and footer.

    I could use some hints or tips for a decent interface for reading file of special characteristics. The files in question has a header (~120 bytes), a body (1 byte - 3gb) and a footer (4 bytes). The header contains information about the body and the footer is only a simple CRC32-value of the body. I use Java so my idea was to extend the "InputStream" class and add a constructor such as "public MyInStream( InputStream in)" where I immediately read the header and the direct the overridden read()'s the body. Problem is, I can't give the user of the class the CRC32-value until the whole body has been read. Because the file can be 3gb large, putting it all in memory is a be an idea. Reading it all in to a temporary file is going to be a performance hit if there are many small files. I don't know how large the file is because the InputStream doesn't have to be a file, it could be a socket. Looking at it again, maybe extending InputStream is a bad idea. Then it connects to all these machines (SSH) and begins to monitor changes (appendings to the end) in each file matched by wildcards. New lines in each such file are saved to the local machine to the file with the same name. (This is a task of real-time log files collecting.) I could use ssh + tail -f, of course, but it is not very robust: if a monitoring process dies and then restarts, some data from remote files may be lost (because tail -f does not save the position at which it is finished before). I may write this tool manually, but before - I'd like to know if such tool already exists or not.

    I am using wamp and creating a Joomla template with changeable parameters. initially the message is The parameter file \templates\ssc_2010\params.ini is writable! once I make changes everything works as expected, except now i get the message: The parameter file \templates\ssc_2010\params.ini is unwritable! One solution is to brows to the directory, right click the file, select properties, and uncheck read-only. Again the file is writable but once I modify the parameters again it becomes read only again. I'm quite lazy and would like to prevent this from happening again, I've notice this happening in past projects, but now I have to work a lot with parameters so it becomes quite boring doing manual labor like that :P
