• Object Events, how do are they implemented

  Events are really awesome, and I wouldn't know what I would do without them, but they're a mystery to me. I'm talking about events in a sense, a function(s) is called if a property, or value, a special event happens. I have only the vaguest idea how these actually work. I know it's an observer pattern, but I don't truly know how it works and/or how to implement it. Can someone explain that to me?

  I want to be able to find the old value of a asp.net control (textbox, checkbox etc) without relying on events (e.g. OnTextChange event). Something like "someTextboxControl.OldText" would be perfect! I imagine that it is stored in the viewstate and need to somehow get at it via a custom control. Any ideas?

  Is there a way to print the layout of a C++ object using the g++ compiler or any other means. A simplified example (assuming int takes 4 bytes) class A{ int a; }; class B:public A{ int b; } so the output would be A - 0 4 + a + B- 0 4 8 + A.a + b + It would be useful to understand the layout of objects (in my case virtual machine code).   Hi there, i run a C++ app from objective-c I can successfully symbolicate my function names using Shark profiler but not with the Object Allocations instrument.à In the detailed pane, i only see my C++ app name with the hexadecimal value for my C++ functions. I tried to do a "File/Re-Symbolicate Document", selecting my app folder containing both my app and my Dsym file but nothing change. Any clues?   Hi, im just writing my own replace method for any weird characters and i used the ASCI value 0, null to replace unwanted characters, i was hoping for them to be 'deleted', but this doesnt work. A gap just appears in the string. What exactly does String.Replace() do when removing a character for ""? Does it shift them all down and then 'delete' the final character or something?
