Is this the best way to do it ?.Do i need to put the entry in any there file like genericstable or alias table?

• WebDAV through Apache2 permissions/missing files

  I have a WebDAV setup on Apache2 on a server running Debian 5.0 (Lenny), which I am accessing through a mapped network drive under Windows 7. The setup appears to run fine, I receive no permission errors when copying a file to the share the first time, but the file never shows up in the directory (it's invisible, doing a ls -lha on the directory as root on the server also shows no files. When attempting to copy the file once more I am informed that the file already exists though, and I am asked if I wish to overwrite the file, when selecting "Yes" to this, I receive a permission error saying I'm not able to write to the folder. My logs aren't reporting any access violations of any kind, what could be the problem? • Cannot access certain URL on my wireless

  Problem: On my wireless network at home, there is one URL that I just cannot access with my browser: http://research.microsoft.com/ I have no problems with the Internet connection otherwise. But on that address I just get The connection was reset The connection to the server was reset while the page was loading. from Firefox. I am using a DSL modem (Westell) and Linksys wireless router (using DHCP). When I use my neighbor's wireless connection I can access the microsoft site without a problem. Additional technical details: But with my connection, here is what I get from nslookup.   Hi there, here's my situation : i've Plesk 8.3.0 with one IP and i've registered my domains at godaddy.com My problem : i cannot figure out how to configure plesk and godaddy to have my domains (6) properly working into the VPS. i've only one IP, so i can't have my personal NS and need to use godaddy ns.   I just installed Apache 2.4 today, and I'm having some issues getting vhost configuration to work correctly. • How to automatically restart Apache service after HTTP 503 error?

  Our production server is running Apache v2.2.4 on CentOS5.2. Mono v1.2.4 is integrated within Apache. Recently, we faced a problem in our production server. From Apache's access_log, I found a HTTP 500 internal server error for one of the HTTP request and all subsequent HTTP requests also failed but with HTTP 503 service unavailable error. From thereafter, none of the requests were successful. Also, only later some time, we realized that our application was not working because of this error and then we restarted Apache service. My questions are, in this kind of situation, how do I automatically restart Apache service when HTTP 503 error is encountered? Is there any Apache directive available to set? in general, what would cause a HTTP 503 error in Apache? NOTE: Mono helps in running applications developed in .NET on a Linux-based OS. EDIT: I agree on finding the root cause of this problem. In fact, we've been analyzing that too. Till we resolve it, am finding whether this could be restarted immediately on its own without having any downtime/service disruption for application users.

• Why do HTTP loopback connections not work on my subdomains?

  I have a shared hosting account at Jumba running Linux kernel 2.6.9-103.ELsmp (don't know if that helps) with cpanel 1.0 (RC1). I am using the WordPress plugin Backup Buddy, which requires HTTP loopback connections to monitor / complete backups. This works fine on memelab.com.au, but doesn't work at any subdomain (e.g.: staging.memelab.com.au). Is it possible to setup an A record or some such to remedy this? I'm aware of a workaround, (setting WP_ALTERNATE_CRON) but I find this unsatisfactory due to the messy URLs. BackupBuddy:_Frequent_Support_Issues#HTTP_Loopback_Connections_Disabled Here is the reply from my host: …as main domain have it's own separate DNS entry it have localhost entry which helps for looback connections where as subdomains don't have separate DNS zone, so it is not possible to create looback connections for it. I have cpanel access to the 'advanced zone editor' - is there anything tricky I can do there? maybe 127.0.0.2? (I remember reading that there were at least 8 available local IPs available on (some) Linuxes.) All the A records point to the server IP, with the exception of localhost.memelab.com.au which points to 127.0.0.1. I've just tried entering a new A record: localhost.itours.memelab.com.au pointing to 127.0.0.2.   I have a server and a few domains and two webpages. Can't figure out how to do the following: A.com -> root\ www.A.com -> root\ B.com -> root\ www.B.com -> root\ C.com -> root\folder1\ www.C.com -> root\folder1\ By the way. What is the 'and' logical operator used in htaccess? I found that 'or' is [OR] but [AND] doesn't seem to work. And what is the language htaccess is written in:)? UPDATE I made a mistake in the question though. Here's what I'd really want to do. DNS is set for the domain A.com to point to the root folder of the server. Now I would like to set the following redirections: Any domain other than C.com and other than D.com redirects (301) to www.A.com. A.com points to the root folder of the server anyway and that is set in DNS. Domain www.C.com points to the folder 'folder1' on the server. Can it be set in htaccess? Now domains C.com, www.D.com and D.com redirects to www.C.com.

  've registered xdebug in php.ini (as per http://xdebug.org/docs/install) but it's not showing up when i run "php -m" or when i get a test page to run "phpinfo()". I've just installed the latest version of XAMPP. I've used both "zend_extention" and "zend_extention_ts" to specify the path of the xdebug dll. I ensured that my apache server restarted and used the latest change of my php.ini by executing "httpd -k restart". Can anyone provide any suggestions in getting xdebug to show up? • Launch market place with id of an application that doesn't exist in the android market place

When I try to launch market place with id of an application say com.mybrowser.android by throwing an intent android.intent.action.VIEW with url: market://details?id=com.mybrowser.android, the market place application does launches but crashes after launch. Note: the application com.mybrowser.android doesn't exists in the market-place. • Set up Gmail with Google apps for own domain

  I rent a server from a German company. I have remote access to it as well as WHM and CPanel. I decided to use Google's mail servers for obvious reasons. I am not an admin just an average guy trying to set up what needs to be set up. The problem is I am unable to make the necessary settings. I watched Youtube tutorials, followed written ones as well as Google's help, but there is (at least) one serious problem with my domain settings. The domain console alwasy says Your MX records are incorrect When I check dappwall.com in mxtoolbox.com it says Pref Hostname IP Address TTL 10 mail.dappwall.com 46.4.88.247 24 hrs But this is not the host name. I checked WHM and my hostname is server1.dappwall.com. I can confirm it by typing the hostname command in putty. However, if I do an mx lookup at mxtoolbox.com on server1.dappwall.com or mail.dappwall.com I get Lookup failed after 1 name servers timed out or responded non-authoritatively I ran checks on the google apps toolbox on dappwall.com and two problems emerged: 1.No Google mail exchangers found. Relayhost configuration? 10 mail.dappwall.com In Google Apps > Settings for Gmail > Advanced settings it also says that my current MX records for dappwall.com is Priority Points to 10 MAIL.DAPPWALL.COM. So mail.dappwall.com again. I also have access to a robot provided by the company I rent the server from. Here I see this mail at two places but how should I (if it's necessary) modify this? I set Email routing to Automatically Detect Configuration. 2.There SHOULD be a valid SPF record. "v=spf1 include:_spf.google.com ~all" In the DNS Zone Editor I added this spf record: Name TTL Class Type Record dappwall.com. 1440 IN TXT v=spf1 include:_spf.google.com ~all In the cPanel Email Authentication page it says SPF: Status: Enabled Warning: cPanel is unable to verify that this server is an authoritative nameserver for dappwall.com. [?] Your current raw SPF record is : v=spf1 include:_spf.google.com ~all How can I confirm that my server is an authoritative nameserver for dappwall.com? In WHM Service Configuration Mailserver selection Dovecot was set but I disabled it (i don't know if that's ok). What am I missing here? Where is that mail.dappwall.com coming from?

  I managed to connect my PC running Windows XP SP3 to my LCD TV with VGA and audio in for the sound. Everything seems ok, there is no lag with the mouse or when watching videos on Youtube, iPlayer, etc. until I put the videos in full screen mode. The videos appear to lag slightly.   Hey everyone, I have a java project that I'm working on which was working until a few days ago. I'm not sure what I did to my Eclipse set-up to hose it but now I'm getting a java.lang.ClassNotFoundException when I try to run some code that accesses the google finance api. I've built a small test application that uses the google finance api on its own and that seems to work. So, I think this is a project specific problem. Any help would be greatly appreciated. • Class 'org.springframework.http.converter.ResourceHttpMessageConverter' not found - how to correct?

  Eclipse STS is reporting I have problem with my spring project. It's a fresh project generated from the Spring Web MVC Project Template (File-New-Spring Template Project-Spring Web MVC ). When I create the project it has no problems - it's only once I modify the pom (by adding the hibernate dependencies) that STS then picks up the spring problem. Strangely if I revert the pom the problem remains. Also I can run the project on a spring tc server and all works correctly. Any ideas how I can satisfy this problem report? • Creating a HTTP handler for IIS that transparently forwards request to different port?

  I have a public web server with the following software installed: IIS7 on port 80 Subversion over apache on port 81 TeamCity over apache on port 82 Unfortunately, both Subversion and TeamCity comes with their own web server installations, and they work flawlessly, so I don't really want to try to move them all to run under IIS, if that is even possible. However, I was looking at IIS and I noticed the HTTP redirect part, and I was wondering... Would it be possible for me to create a HTTP handler, and install it on a sub-domain under IIS7, so that all requests to, say, http://svn.vkarlsen.no/anything/here is passed to my HTTP handler, which then subsequently creates a request to http://localhost:81/anything/here, retrieves the data, and passes it on to the original requestee? In other words, I would like IIS to handle transparent forwards to port 81 and 82, without using the redirection features. For instance, Subversion doesn't like HTTP redirect and just says that the repository has been moved, and I need to relocate my working copy. That's not what I want. If anyone thinks this can be done, does anyone have any links to topics I need to read up on? I think I can manage the actual request parts, even with authentication, but I have no idea how to create a HTTP handler. Also bear in mind that I need to handle sub-paths and documents beneath the top-level domain, so http://svn.vkarlsen.no/whatever/here needs to be handled by a single handler, I cannot create copies of the handler for all sub-directories since paths are created from time to time.

• NoClassDefFoundError when trying to reference external jar files

  I have some 3rd party jar files that I want to reference in my tomcat web application. I added this line to catalina.properties: shared.loader=/home/ollie/dev/java/googleapi_samples/gdata/java/lib/*.jar but I'm still getting this error: org.apache.jasper.JasperException: javax.servlet.ServletException: java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: com/google/gdata/util/ServiceException org.apache.jasper.servlet.JspServletWrapper.handleJspException(JspServletWrapper.java:491) org.apache.jasper.servlet.JspServletWrapper.service(JspServletWrapper.java:401) org.apache.jasper.servlet.JspServlet.serviceJspFile(JspServlet.java:313) org.apache.jasper.servlet.JspServlet.service(JspServlet.java:260) javax.servlet.http.HttpServlet.service(HttpServlet.java:717) I verified that the com.google.gdata.util.ServiceException is in the gdata-core-1.0.jar file which is in the directory: /home/ollie/dev/java/googleapi_samples/gdata/java/lib I did bounce tomcat after I modified catalina.properties. Update 1: I tried copying the gdata-core-1.0.jar file into /var/lib/tomcat6/webapp/examples/WEB-INF/lib as a test but that didn't fix the problem either. Update 2: It actually does work when I copy the jar file directly into the WEB-INF/lib directory. There was a permissions issue that I had to resolve. But it's still not working when I use the shared.loader setting. I reconfirmed that the path is correct.

As you can see by the commented out parts I have tried a lot of different things based on random tutorials I have found but all of them have ended up in Internal Server Error, 503 and most often a '502 Bad Gateway`. I can start play and it does connect successfully to my database. I can get a page to show up when there is an error and the play! stack trace error pages comes up but where everything is fine I get one of the errors above.   I've trouble to get aliases working correctly on nginx. When i try to access the aliases, /pma and /mba (see secure.example.com.conf), i get a 403 Forbidden but the base url works correctly. I read a lot of posts but nothing helped, so here i am. • In Email, Image (img) Source (src) Tags are rewritten as relative links. How to fix?

  I'm working on sending out an html based email, and every time it sends the image src tags and some of the anchor href tags are modified to be relative url's. Update 2: This is happening between when the body of the email is generated and sent and when it arrives in my inbox. Update: I am using Postfix on a LAMPP server. In addition, I am using Zend_Mail to send the emails out.   I have some .php sites that embeds .swf files. These .swf files are now linked to by some other guys. And I don't want them to simply open the SWF, I want them to force being redirect to the page where the flash is embed. Data: Site: www.example.com/1 (www.example.com/2, www.example.com/3 and so on) Flash: www.example.com/flash/flash_NUMBER.swf So for www.example.com/1: Site: www.example.com/1 Flash: www.example.com/flash/flash_1.swf I now want to redirect the user who types "www.example.com/flash/flash_1.swf" into his URL to be redirect to www.example.com/1. The Problem I have that the flash needs to be still accesseable via www.example.com/1 <-- I don't get that working (the Flash is embed into that page). The tool I would like to use for this is the .htaccess & RewriteRule. I hope someone can help me out.
