• Subdomain Is Redirected and Causing an Error Because www. is Added

  On my site, say example.com, if I try to access test.example.com, Firefox automatically adds www. to test.example.com, making it www.test.example.com, which causes an error. However, if I visit a site like my.ebay.com, no www. is added so no error occurs. What's going on? Just in case, my .htaccess file is as follows: Options -Multiviews RewriteEngine On RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^example.com RewriteRule ^(.*)$ http://www.example.com/$1 [R=301,L] RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d RewriteRule ^(.*)$ $1.php I looked through Firebug and it seems like Firefox doesn't even make an attempt to reach test.example.com before reverting to www.test.example.com. One nuance I didn't realize until now. If I try to access the site using test.example.com/, the www. is added. If however that trailing slash is not there, then I am sent to the subdomain properly.

• htaccess 301 redirect help needed

  Due to some issues in my site many pages are visible as duplicate using : www.example.com/page.html?task=view but it's content is exactly same as www.example.com/page.html. One way is to use http 301 redirect from www.example.com/page.html?task=view to www.example.com/page.html when anybody fetches page with arguments. But links like www.example.com/page.html?task=view will remain visible to outside world. Another way is canonicalization which I don't want to use as it is difficult to insert the tag in Joomla CMS. I want to hide www.example.com/page.html?task=view from external world. Is it possible to change the url from www.example.com/page.html?task=view to www.example.com/page.html ? I mean if there is href link of www.example.com/page.html?task=view in my web page, it should be visible to external world as without any arguments. This is different from using 301 to convert externally accessed page : www.example.com/page.html?task=view to without using arguments in .htaccess.

  I'm looking to register a few more domains for my company, I have my-company.com at the moment, but now require my-company.com.au and my-company.nl and some others.. I'm running through my options and wondering what is the best.. Duplicate all the content on the .com package and make a replica at the other domains Buy the other domains but do a 301 redirect back to the .com domain. Create a full new website with different content for the new domains, thus having no text duplication We currently sell over the world so would like to raise our Search rankings in various countries, can this be done by buying the domain in the country, and if so, how will the above methods affect our search rankings. I have a dilemma regarding the shared link structure: Option 1 - subdomains Use a questions.example.com and answers.example.com, followed by an ID and optional text. • How to track inbound HTTP traffic using Plesk 10.4.4?

  I am running Plesk 10.4.4 on a Debian 6.0 server. The outbound traffic is being tracked but the inbound http traffic seems to be 0 at all times, i.e. looking at the DomainsTraffic and ClientsTraffic the http_in column is always 0. Is this a setting that I have missed? I've had a look and cannot find anything. How do I get Plesk to track the inbound HTTP traffic? I have already made sure that Home Tools & Settings Server settings had 'Include in the traffic calculation' set to 'inbound and outbound traffic', yet this does not solve the problem. Apache allows inbound traffic to be logged using %I in the log format, is there a way to get Plesk to add the %I to the log and then use that in bandwidth calculations?

• Writing Unit Tests for ASP.NET Web API Controller

  In this blog post, I will write unit tests for a ASP.NET Web API controller in the EFMVC reference application. Let me introduce the EFMVC app, If you haven't heard about EFMVC. EFMVC is a simple app, developed as a reference implementation for demonstrating ASP.NET MVC, EF Code First, ASP.NET Web API, Domain-Driven Design (DDD), Test-Driven Development (DDD).   I spend a few hours trying to get Twitter integration to work with Spring Social using the XML configuration approach. All the examples I could find on the web (and on stackoverflow) always use the @Config approach as shown in the samples For whatever reason the bean definition to get an instance to the twitter API throws an AOP exception: Caused by: java.lang.IllegalStateException: Cannot create scoped proxy for bean 'scopedTarget.twitter': Target type could not be determined at the time of proxy creation. I have a list that looks like this: http://www.domain.com/folder1/folder2/|,1 http://www.domain.com/folder1/|,1 http://www.domain.com/folder1/folder2/folder3/|,1 http://www.domain.com/folder1/|,1 http://www.domain.com/folder1/folder2/|,1 http://www.domain.com/folder1/folder2/|,1 http://www.domain.com/folder1/folder2/folder3/|,1 The pipe and the comma separates the path from the amount of files that are under that path.   Well, I have implemented a distinct query in hibernate. It returns me result. But, while casting the fields are getting interchanged. So, it generates casting error. What should be the solution? As an example, I do have database, "ProjectAssignment" that has three fields, aid, pid & userName. I want all distinct userName data from this table. I have applied query : select distinct userName, aid, pid from ProjectAssignment Whereas the ProjectAssignment.java file has the fields in sequence aid, pid & userName. Now, here the userName is first field in output. So, Casting is not getting possible. Also, query : select aid, pid, distinct userName from ProjectAssignment is not working. What is the proper query for the same ? Or what else the solution ?   I have a webservice (out of my control) that I have to talk to. I also have a packet-sniffer on the line, and (SURPRISE!!!) the developers of the webservice aren't lying. They are actually sending back all of the data that I requested. But the web-service code that is auto-generated from the WSDL file is giving me "null" as a value. I used their WSDL file to generate my Web Reference. I checked my data types with the datatypes that the WSDL file has declared.   I can set up the following: mydomain.com (ex m.com) CNAME points to: mysubdomain.hostingprovider.com (ex s1.h.com) subdomain.mydomain.com (ex s2.m.com) CNAME points to: www.anotherdomain.com (ex a.com) There are files in www.anotherdomain.com/mysubfolder/ that I want mydomain.com to be able to access through the subdomain, but I don't want any of the files on the subdomain to be accessable directly. I have full direct access (ftp) to mydomain.com, but I have opono direct access to www.anotherdomain.com (online booking & shopping cart). Is there anyway to make it so access to subdomain.mydomain.com can only be accessed by mydomain.com?

  I need to get the unique URL identifier for the product that is created after inserting an item into Google Base using the Zend_Gdata_Gbase library. I can't seem to do this. I am finding a startling lack of documentation online about manipulating the objects used in these applications. The url that I add to the object does not work to retrieve the base item later, which is why I need to get the one that google generates upon submission. I am writing a program that will need to be able to delete content at a later date, and thus will need to store that information in order to keep the website synced with the Google Base feed. The identifier must be different each time (e.g. com.siteA.appA and com.siteB.appB). However it doesn't appear to be trivial to use the refactor functionality in Eclipse to change the com identifier - all references change apart from the "import com.siteA.appA.R" reference. Is there a way to create different builds with different com identifiers/app name within Eclipse? Thanks

  The online travel booking leader Expedia announced that it started accepting Bitcoins for booking hotels on its website. For those who are new to Bitcoin, it is a digital currency in which transactions can be performed without the need for a central bank – its more like internet of currency. At the moment Expedia is accepting Bitcoin payments only for hotel bookings and in the future it may allow flights and vacation packages bookings. When Expedia customers wants to pay for a hotel using Bitcoin then they are transferred to Coinbase, a third party bit coin processor, for accepting the payments and then they are redirected back to Expedia.com to complete booking. This simple process would definitely drive mainstream adoption of Bitcoin – a win-win situation for digital currency users as well as for the travel company as they save a lot on card processing fees. Online retailers pay around 3% of transaction amount as fees for credit card processing companies like Visa & Master when they accept cards, but Coinbase charges a fee of just 1 percent for processing Bitcoins. Irrespective of customers adoption to Bitcoin based payments on Expedia as well as the savings on transaction fees, this move would give bragging rights to Expedia being the first e-commerce giant to accept digital currency!   A few months ago we at Tellago had open sourced the BizTalk Data Services. We were meanwhile working on other artifacts which comes along with BizTalk Server like the “Business Rules Engine”.  We are happy to announce the first version of BRE Data Services. BRE Data Services is a same concept which we covered through BTS Data Services, providing a RESTFul OData – based API to interact with the Business Rules Engine via HTTP using ATOM Publishing Protocol or JSON as the encoding mechanism.   In the first version release, we mainly focused on the browsing, querying and searching BRE artifacts via a RESTFul interface. Also along with that we provide the functionality to execute Business Rules by inserting the Facts for policies via the IUpdatable implementation of WCF Data Services.   The BRE Data Services API provides a lightweight interface for managing Business Rules Engine artifacts such as Policies, Rules, Vocabularies, Conditions, Actions, Facts etc. The following are some examples which details some of the available features in the current version of the API.   Basic Querying: Querying BRE Policies http://localhost/BREDataServices/BREMananagementService.svc/Policies Querying BRE Rules http://localhost/BREDataServices/BREMananagementService.svc/Rules Querying BRE Vocabularies http://localhost/BREDataServices/BREMananagementService.svc/Vocabularies   Navigation: The BRE Data Services API also leverages WCF Data Services to enable navigation across related different BRE objects. In this method, you can first query the rule which you want to execute and then inserts Facts for that particular Rules and finally when you perform the SaveChanges() call for the IUpdatable Interface API, it executes the policy with the facts which you inserted at runtime. Below is a sample of client side code. Due to the limitations of current version of WCF Data Services where there is no way you can return back the updates happening on the service side back to the client via the SaveChanges() method. Here we are executing the rule passing a serialized XML as Facts and there is no changes made to any data where we can query back to fetch the changes. • Why is "googlehosted.com" in the DNS records for our website after signing up for DDOS protection?

  Recently we had to get some DDOS protection for our website because of the large attacks we were seeing after getting a bit of popularity. We handed over our domain and hosting information to our DDOS protection provider. It worked perfectly but I have a question. On our DNS records we have the Host and Answer and Type. The host has our domain name there. The answer is this: SOMETEXTXXXX.dv.googlehosted.com. And when I copy and paste it into my browser it gives me a 404 error. But our website still loads and functions as it should. I don't understand why it would need this? I asked them about this and they said it is a method for DDOS protection and the other IPs are the reverse proxy (the other IPs give a 404 error too). Can anyone expand on this more please. How does all this tie in together and make the internet browser know where to point the person with all these reverse proxies and stuff I don't understand. Here is an image for reference:

To make this work, the network architect has come up with a design where all secure pages have to be served from secure.my-domain.com, while non-secure pages are served up from www.my-domain.com. The reason for this is apparently that the configuring the Cisco ACE to accept HTTPS requests on port 443 for a particular public IP prevents the simultaneous acceptance of HTTP requests on port 80 for the same IP. While I'm not a networking (or Cisco) expert, this seems to be intuitively wrong, as it would prevent any website using the Cisco ACE to serve pages on http://www.my-domain.com and https://www.my-domain.com simultaneously. In this situation, my questions are: Is this truly a limitation of the Cisco ACE when used as an SSL endpoint? If not, then can I assume that we can set up the ACE to accept connections for a particular IP on ports 80 and 443, and function as an SSL endpoint for the incoming requests on 443? Links to appropriate documentation most welcome here. Assuming the setup in the previous question, can I then redirect both sets of requests to the same server farm on the same port?
