  • UIImage Object surprisingly returning null but not NSData

    - by riyaz
    i have created a sqlite db. and i have insert a few datas in my db.. UIImage * imagee=[UIImage imageNamed:@"image.png"]; NSData *mydata=[NSData dataWithData:UIImagePNGRepresentation(imagee)]; const char *dbpath = [databasePath UTF8String]; NSString *insertSQL=[NSString stringWithFormat:@"insert into CONTACTS values(\"%@\",\"%@\")",@"Mathan",mydata]; NSLog(@"mydata %@",mydata); sqlite3_stmt *addStatement; const char *insert_stmt=[insertSQL UTF8String]; if (sqlite3_open(dbpath,&contactDB)==SQLITE_OK) { sqlite3_prepare_v2(contactDB,insert_stmt,-1,&addStatement,NULL); if (sqlite3_step(addStatement)==SQLITE_DONE) { sqlite3_bind_blob(addStatement,1, [mydata bytes], [mydata length], SQLITE_TRANSIENT); NSLog(@"Data saved"); } else{ NSLog(@"Some Error occured"); } sqlite3_close(contactDB); } else{ NSLog(@"Failure"); } have written some codes to retrive the data sqlite3_stmt *statement; if (sqlite3_open([databasePath UTF8String], &contactDB) == SQLITE_OK) { NSString *sql = [NSString stringWithFormat:@"SELECT * FROM contacts"]; if (sqlite3_prepare_v2( contactDB, [sql UTF8String], -1, &statement, nil) == SQLITE_OK) { while (sqlite3_step(statement) == SQLITE_ROW) { char *field1 = (char *) sqlite3_column_text(statement, 0); NSString *field1Str = [[NSString alloc] initWithUTF8String: field1]; NSLog(@"UserName %@",field1Str); NSData *data = [[NSData alloc] initWithBytes:sqlite3_column_blob(statement, 1) length:sqlite3_column_bytes(statement, 1)]; UIImage *newImage = [[UIImage alloc]initWithData:data]; NSLog(@"Image OBJ %@",newImage); NSLog(@"Image Data %@",data); } sqlite3_close(contactDB); } } sqlite3_finalize(statement); the problem is in log, inserted NSData object and retrieved NSData Objects are different (printing in log gives different stream) moreover Image OBJ is printed null in log.. Have seen similar questions in stackoverflow. But nothing seems to help. Please give some suggestions to overcome this issue.

  • Need Help Loading and Manipulating Bitmap Data

    - by Dave
    Using VB6, I need to load a bitmap image and subsequently manipulate some of its data - specifically, I want to rotate a section within the image, and in the end keep the image intact with the rotated section. How do I (1) find out where an image gets loaded into memory (a physical address), and (2) in what format is it stored, a 1-D array, 2-D array, or what? Maybe you can even suggest a better way to do this. Thanks.

  • Android: Scheduling application to start with repeating alarms not working

    - by vikramagain
    I get my Broadcast receiver to set a recurring alarm, to fire up a service. Unfortunately this does not result in the service being called repeatedly (based on logcat). I've experimented with different values for the time interval too. Can someone help? (I'm testing through Eclipse on Android 3.2 Motorola xoom) Below is the code for the Broadcast receiver. alarm = (AlarmManager) arg0.getSystemService(Context.ALARM_SERVICE); Intent intentUploadService = new Intent (arg0, com.vikramdhunta.UploaderService.class); Calendar calendar = Calendar.getInstance(); calendar.setTimeInMillis(System.currentTimeMillis()); calendar.add(Calendar.SECOND, 3); PendingIntent pi = PendingIntent.getBroadcast(arg0, 0, intentUploadService , 0); alarm.setRepeating(AlarmManager.RTC_WAKEUP, calendar.getTimeInMillis(), 5, pi); Below is the code for the Service class public UploaderService() { super("UploaderService"); mycounterid = globalcounter++; } @Override protected void onHandleIntent(Intent intent) { synchronized(this) { try { for (int i = 1;i < 5;i++) { // doesn't do much right now.. but this should appear in logcat Log.i(TAG,"OK " + globalcounter++ + " uploading..." + System.currentTimeMillis()); } } catch(Exception e) { } } } @Override public void onCreate() { super.onCreate(); Log.d("TAG", "Service created."); } @Override public IBinder onBind(Intent arg0) { return null; } @Override public int onStartCommand(Intent intent, int flags, int startId) { Log.i(TAG, "Starting upload service..." + mycounterid); return super.onStartCommand(intent,flags,startId); }

  • How to proxy calls to the instance of an object

    - by mr.b
    Edit: Changed question title from "Does C# allow method overloading, PHP style (__call)?" - figured out it doesn't have much to do with actual question. Also edited question text. What I want to accomplish is to proxy calls to a an instance of an object methods, so I could log calls to any of its methods. Right now, I have code similar to this: class ProxyClass { static logger; public AnotherClass inner { get; private set; } public ProxyClass() { inner = new AnotherClass(); } } class AnotherClass { public void A() {} public void B() {} public void C() {} // ... } // meanwhile, in happyCodeLandia... ProxyClass pc = new ProxyClass(); pc.inner.A(); // need to write log message like "method A called" pc.inner.B(); // need to write log message like "method B called" // ... So, how can I proxy calls to an object instance in extensible way? Method overloading would be most obvious solution (if it was supported in PHP way). By extensible, meaning that I don't have to modify ProxyClass whenever AnotherClass changes. In my case, AnotherClass can have any number of methods, so it wouldn't be appropriate to overload or wrap all methods to add logging. I am aware that this might not be the best approach for this kind of problem, so if anyone has idea what approach to use, shoot. Thanks!

  • FTP exception 501 "pathname" more than 8 characters

    - by BigMac66
    I am trying to access a file via a URI using the FTP protocol. For obvious security reasons I had to make some changes but this is where the problems seem to be coming from. My URI is as follows: ftp://user:[email protected]/u/Bigpathname/XYZ/ABC/BigPathname/bigpathname/xyz/abc/MY_LOG.LOG And I see this exception: sun.net.ftp.FtpProtocolException: CWD Bigpathname:501 A qualifier in "Bigpathname" is more than 8 characters This is really confusing as I can access the file from a Windows 7 command line with the CD command just fine. Both one directory at a time and as a full path. I found one article mentioning that MVS file names must be 8 or fewer characters but this does not explain how I can get to these same files from my command line! They do exist there is data there that I can download manual but I can not get there via a URI in Java. PS I use .toURL().openStream() to get files on my local machine just fine, it only fails when I try to get them from my server. EDIT October 1st I am able to access files on the MVS host using FileZilla and the basic FTP client from the Windows 7 command line - but I still cannot get them from a URI/URL. I downloaded a very basic Java built FTP client and tried accessing the same file in my program from there and the path works but because my file name has a dot in it "MY_LOG.LOG" I am getting File does not exist 501 Invalid data set name "MY_LOG.LOG". Use MVS Dsname conventions. I am utterly perplexed by this...

  • Can a JPEG compressed image be rotated without a loss in quality?

    - by Mat
    JPEG is a lossy compression scheme, so decompression-manipulation-recompression normally reduces the image quality further for each step. Is it possible to rotate a JPEG image without incurring further loss? From what little I know of the JPEG algorithm, it naively seems possible to avoid further loss with a bit of effort. Which common image manipulation programs (e.g. GIMP, Paint Shop Pro, Windows Photo Gallery) and graphic libraries cause quality loss when performing a rotation and which don't?

  • Why does local variable names take precedence over function names in JavaScripts?

    - by fredrik
    In JavaScript you can define function in a bunch of different ways: function BatmanController () { } var BatmanController = function () { } // If you want to be EVIL eval("function BatmanController () {}"); // If you are fancy (function () { function BatmanController () { } }()); By accident I ran across a unexpected behaviour today. When declaring a local variable (in the fancy way) with the same name as function the local variable takes presence inside the local scope. For example: (function () { "use strict"; function BatmanController () { } console.log(typeof BatmanController); // outputs "function" var RobinController = function () { } console.log(typeof RobinController); // outputs "function" var JokerController = 1; function JokerController () { } console.log(typeof JokerController); // outputs "number", Ehm what? }()); Anyone know why var JokerController isn't overwritten by function JokerController? I tested this in Chrome, Safari, Canary, Firefox. I would guess it's due to some "look ahead" JavaScript optimizing done in the V8 and JägerMonkey engines. But is there any technical explanation to explain this behaviour?

  • jQuery .ajax method executing but not firing error (or success)

    - by John Swaringen
    I'm having a very strange situation. I have a .NET Web Service (.asmx) that I'm trying to call via jQuery ajax to populate some <select></select>'s. The service is running System.Web.Services like it's supposed to and should be returning a JSON list. At least that's the way I understand that it will in .NET 3.5/4.0. The main problem is that the .ajax() function (below) seems to execute but the internal callbacks aren't executing. I know it's executing because I can do something before and after the function and both execute, so JavaScript isn't blowing up. $.ajax({ type: "POST", contentType: "application/json; charset=utf-8", url: 'http://localhost:59191/AFEDropDownService/Service.asmx/GetAVP', data: "{}", dataType: "jsonp", crossDomain: true, success: function(list) { console.log(list); console.log("success!!"); }, error: function(msg) { console.log("error: " + msg.text); } }); If you need more of the code let me know. Or if you know a better way as I'm trying to build cascading <select></select's.

  • How to append html only if the div is empty in jQuery?

    - by johnnyb3000
    I have this code for displaying content for login and registration in my PHP file: <?php // LOGIN PART ?> <div class="login-part"></div> <?php // REGISTRATION PART ?> <div class="registration-part"></div> And this in my js file: $(document).ready( function() { // FOR REGISTRATION $('span.logreg.reg').click(function () { $('div.registration-part').append('<p>Registration</p>'); }); // FOR LOGIN $('span.logreg.log').click(function () { // insert html $('div.login-part').append('<p>Login</p>'); }); }); Now, everytime I click on a span it shows the text login or registration, according to which of the span was clicked. Thats OK, however I need to add it only once, so when the user click more times on the span it will be not adding more text. Remove() or empty() is not an option, as far as I know, because I need the information inside input boxes (there will be input boxes later for inserting user info) to stay there and not be deleted if the user click accidentally on the span again. It can however delete the html inside the div, if he clicks on another span. E.g. if span.log is active, after clicking on span.log nothing happens, but if he clicks on span.reg the html inside div.login-part will be removed and registration text will appear. How to do something like this?

  • setImageViewResource Sometimes loads image and sometimes it doesn't.

    - by Niv
    Hi All, I'm writing a simple widget which has an imageview widget that is supposed to load an image dynamically. To do this, I'm starting a service in the onUpdate method of the service. I validated that the service is running, however, the image is loaded only once every 10 times. Here is the code: (In the Original extends AppWidgetProvider) @Override public void onUpdate(Context context, AppWidgetManager appWidgetManager, int[] appWidgetIds) { Log.d(LOG_TAG, "onUpdate(): Starting Service..1"); context.startService(new Intent(context, UpdateService.class)); } (The service:) @Override public void onStart(Intent intent, int startId) { Log.d(LOG_TAG, "(OnStart) In On Start..!"); AppWidgetManager appWidgetManager = AppWidgetManager.getInstance(this); int[] appWidgetIds = appWidgetManager.getAppWidgetIds(new ComponentName(this, Original.class)); for (int appWidgetId : appWidgetIds) { RemoteViews remoteView = new RemoteViews(this.getPackageName(), R.layout.widget); remoteView.setImageViewResource(R.id.widgetImage, R.drawable.let02); remoteView.setTextViewText(R.id.widget_textview_month, "aaa"); Log.d(LOG_TAG, "(OnUpdate) Set All Fields!"); appWidgetManager.updateAppWidget(appWidgetId, remoteView); } //super.onStart(intent, startId); return; }

  • class selector refuses after append to body

    - by supersize
    I'm appending loads of divs in a wrapper: var cubes = [], allCubes = '', for(var i = 0; i < 380; i++) { var randomleft = Math.floor(Math.random()*Math.floor(Math.random()*1000)), randomtop = Math.floor(Math.random()*Math.floor(Math.random()*1000)); allCubes += '<div id="cube'+i+'" class="cube" style="position: absolute; border: 2px #000 solid; left: '+randomleft+'px; top: '+randomtop+'px; width: 9px; height: 9px; z-index: -1"></div>'; } $('#wrapper').append(allCubes); // performance for(var i = 0; i < 380; i++) { cubes.push($('#cube'+i)); } and then I would like to make them all draggable with jQueryUI and log their current position. var allc = $('.cube'); allc.draggable().on('mouseup', function(i) { allc.each(function() { var nleft = $(this).offset().left; var ntop = $(this).offset().top; console.log('cubes['+i+'].animate({ left:'+nleft+',top:'+ntop+'})'); }); }); Unfortunenately it does not work. They are neither draggable nor there comes up a log. Thanks

  • Find Upper Right Point of Rotated Rectangle in AS3 (Flex)

    - by coltech
    I have a rectangle of any arbitrary width and height. I know X,Y, width, and height. How do I solve the upper right hand coordinates when the rectangle is rotated N degrees? I realized if it were axis aligned I would simply solve for (x,y+width). Unforunatly this doesn't hold true when I apply a transform matrix on the rectangle to rotate it around its center.

  • Perl Capture and Modify STDERR before it prints to a file

    - by MicrobicTiger
    I have a perl script which performs multiple external commands and prints the outputs from STDERR and STDOUT to a logfile along with a series of my own print statements to act as documentation on the process. My problem is that the STDERR repeats ~identical prints as example below. I'd like to capture this before it prints and replace with the final result for each of the commands i run. blocks evaluated : 0 blocks evaluated : 10000 blocks evaluated : 20000 blocks evaluated : 30000 ... blocks evaluated : 3420000 blocks evaluated : 3428776 Here's how I'm getting STDOUT and STDERR my $logfile = "Logfile.log"; #log file name #--- Open log file for append if specified --- if ( $logfile ) { open ( OLDOUT, ">&", STDOUT ) or die "ERROR: Can't backup STDOUT location.\n"; close STDOUT; open ( STDOUT, ">", $logfile ) or die "ERROR: Logfile [$logfile] cannot be opened.\n"; } if ( $logfile ) { open ( OLDERR, ">&", STDERR ) or die "ERROR: Can't backup STDERR location.\n"; close STDERR; open ( STDERR, '>&STDOUT' ) or die "ERROR: failed to pass STDERR to STDOUT.\n"; } and closing them close STDERR; open ( STDERR, ">&", OLDERR ) or die "ERROR: Can't fix that first thing you broke!\n"; close STDOUT; open ( STDOUT, ">&", OLDOUT ) or die "ERROR: Can't fix that other thing you broke!\n"; How do I access the STDERR when each print is occurring to do the replace? Or prevent it from printing if it isn't the last of the batch. Many Thanks in advance.

  • Commons VFS and IBM MVS System

    - by Liming
    Hello All, I'm using Apache Commons VFS / SFTP, we are trying to download files from the IBM MVS system. The download part is all good, however, we can not open up the zipped files after downloading. Seems like the zip file was compressed using a different algorithm or something Anyone has any pointers? *Note, the same function works fine if we connect to a regular unix/linux SFTP server. Below is an example of what we did String defaultHost = "[my sftp ip address]"; String host = defaultHost; String defaultRemotePath = "//__root.dir1.dir2."; String remotePath = defaultRemotePath; String user = "test"; String password = "test"; String remoteFileName = "Blah.ZIP.BLAH"; log.info("FtpPojo() begin instantiation"); FileObject localFileObject = fsManager.resolveFile("C:/Work/Blah.ZIP.BLAH"); log.debug("local file name is :"+localFileObject.getName().getBaseName()); log.debug("FtpPojo() instantiated and fsManager created"); String uri = createSftpUri(host, user, password) + ":322"+remotePath+remoteFileName; remoteRepo = fsManager.resolveFile(uri, fsOptions); remoteRepo.copyFrom(localFileObject, Selectors.SELECT_ALL);

  • one click, two 'click' event fired

    - by Toni Michel Caubet
    I just want to toggle some elements when a link is clicked: This is how i am trying (But i don't really think that it matters much for this question what's inside the event function callback): /* mostrar exceso de comentarios a peticion del usuario*/ $('.toggleComments').click(function(){ console.log('.toggleComments'); if($(this).parents('.helpContent').find('.commentHideble:visible').length > 0){ $(this).text('+ <?=get_texto_clave('show_old_comments')?>').removeClass('toggleCommentsActive').append(' ('+$(this).parents('.helpContent').find('.commentHideble:not:visible').length+'+)'); }else{ $(this).text('- <?=get_texto_clave('hide_old_comments')?>').addClass('toggleCommentsActive'); } $(this).parents('.helpContent').find('.commentHideble').slideToggle(100); }); I even tried a boolean but gave me same result /* mostrar exceso de comentarios a peticion del usuario*/ var ctoggle = false; $('.toggleComments').click(function(){ if(ctoggle == false){ ctoggle = true; console.log('.toggleComments'); if($(this).parents('.helpContent').find('.commentHideble:visible').length > 0){ $(this).text('+ <?=get_texto_clave('show_old_comments')?>').removeClass('toggleCommentsActive').append(' ('+$(this).parents('.helpContent').find('.commentHideble:not:visible').length+'+)'); }else{ $(this).text('- <?=get_texto_clave('hide_old_comments')?>').addClass('toggleCommentsActive'); } $(this).parents('.helpContent').find('.commentHideble').slideToggle(100); ctoggle = false; } }); Why the log is being fired twice by click?

  • Finding whether a point lies inside a rectangle or not

    - by avd
    The rectangle can be oriented in any way...need not be axis aligned. Now I want to find whether a point lies inside the rectangle or not. One method I could think of was to rotate the rectangle and point coordinates to make the rectangle axis aligned and then by simply testing the coordinates of point whether they lies within that of rectangle's or not. The above method requires rotation and hence floating point operations. Is there any other efficient way to do this??

  • Making a Delete and Reply button in Jquery

    - by Branko Ostojic
    this is my second post on the website. Of all other sites i tried, this one gave the most accurate and useful information! I'm in a bit of a trouble with buttons, i have a task to make an inbox and to add a "reply" and "delete" button into every instance of the message. I was indeed wandering if there is a better way to do that than forcing the HTML code into the script, because every message is dynamically generated. Any help and/or suggestions would be very appreciated!(The objects are called from a JSON file). $(document).ready(function(){ $.getJSON('public/js/data.json', function(json){ $.each(json.data, function(i, data){ var output = ''; if(data.from.id != '234' && data.from.name != 'Alan Ford'){ $("#inbox").append( output += '<div class="post">'+ '<div class="h1">'+data.from.name+' - '+data.subject+'</div>'+ //this gives the name of the person who sent the message and the subject '<div class="content">'+data.message_formatted+'</div>'+ //The content of the message //buttons should be squeezed left of the date //this gives the date of the message sent '<div class="time">'+data.date_sent_formatted.formatted+'</div>'+ '</div>' ); }}); }); }); var date_sent=convertToDateTime(); function delete_message(id){ console.log('Delete message with id: '+id); } function reply_message(id, sender){ console.log('Message id: '+id); console.log('Reply to: '+sender); } The complete code in the JSFiddle . Just copy/pasted!

  • AngularJS: Using Shared Service(with $resource) to share data between controllers, but how to define callback functions?

    - by shaunlim
    Note: I also posted this question on the AngularJS mailing list here: https://groups.google.com/forum/#!topic/angular/UC8_pZsdn2U Hi All, I'm building my first AngularJS app and am not very familiar with Javascript to begin with so any guidance will be much appreciated :) My App has two controllers, ClientController and CountryController. In CountryController, I'm retrieving a list of countries from a CountryService that uses the $resource object. This works fine, but I want to be able to share the list of countries with the ClientController. After some research, I read that I should use the CountryService to store the data and inject that service into both controllers. This was the code I had before: CountryService: services.factory('CountryService', function($resource) { return $resource('http://localhost:port/restwrapper/client.json', {port: ':8080'}); }); CountryController: //Get list of countries //inherently async query using deferred promise $scope.countries = CountryService.query(function(result){ //preselected first entry as default $scope.selected.country = $scope.countries[0]; }); And after my changes, they look like this: CountryService: services.factory('CountryService', function($resource) { var countryService = {}; var data; var resource = $resource('http://localhost:port/restwrapper/country.json', {port: ':8080'}); var countries = function() { data = resource.query(); return data; } return { getCountries: function() { if(data) { console.log("returning cached data"); return data; } else { console.log("getting countries from server"); return countries(); } } }; }); CountryController: $scope.countries = CountryService.getCountries(function(result){ console.log("i need a callback function here..."); }); The problem is that I used to be able to use the callback function in $resource.query() to preselect a default selection, but now that I've moved the query() call to within my CountryService, I seemed to have lost what. What's the best way to go about solving this problem? Thanks for your help, Shaun

  • ANDROID SAX Parser issue

    - by Chris Watson
    Since I am new to java programming, I need a bit of help with this. I stuck on this one issue and can't continue until I get this to work. I am trying to make a string from that includes a preference int. I saved the data and can display the int (just sample code): SharedPreferences prefs=PreferenceManager .getDefaultSharedPreferences(this); list.setText(prefs.getString("list", "22")); now, I have a xml parser that is pulling a url correctly as a static string: public static String feedUrl = String.format("http://www.freshpointmarketing.com/iphone/objects/XML/AND.php?ID=%d", 22); Works great... now my issue...... I need to have the preference "int" become the variable in the string, thus making it not static. static SharedPreferences prefs=PreferenceManager.getDefaultSharedPreferences(this); static int myVariable = prefs.getInt("list1", 22); public static String feedUrl = String.format("http://www.freshpointmarketing.com/iphone/objects/XML/AND.php?ID=%d", myVariable); If I take out all static references, I get an error on this: private void loadFeed(ParserType type){ try{ FeedParser parser = FeedParserFactory.getParser(type); long start = System.currentTimeMillis(); messages = parser.parse(); long duration = System.currentTimeMillis() - start; Log.i("AndroidNews", "Parser duration=" + duration); String xml = writeXml(); Log.i("AndroidNews", xml); List<String> titles = new ArrayList<String>(messages.size()); for (Message msg : messages){ titles.add(msg.getTitle()); } ArrayAdapter<String> adapter = new ArrayAdapter<String>(this, R.layout.row,titles); this.setListAdapter(adapter); } catch (Throwable t){ Log.e("AndroidNews",t.getMessage(),t); } } thanks

  • File being used by another process. Reason, and solution?

    - by pstar
    The process cannot access the file 'abc.log' because it is being used by another process. Hi, I've seen this exception from my application occationaly but I am still trying to fix that, hope I will get some insight from stackoverflow. In my application I've have defined a WriteToLog function which will write to a log file. Also the mainForm of my application will launch a backgroundWorker do some job which also calls the WriteToLog. Maybe two threads access a file will cause a problem? But in my code I 've already do my best to write flush and close the text file (I think), and here is my code from WriteToLog: StreamWriter sw = null; string newText = ""; try { //populate the content for newText sw = File.AppendText(LOG_FILE); sw.Write(newText); sw.Flush(); sw.Close(); } catch (IOException ex) { MessageBox.Show("Failed to write to log!\n\t" + ex.Message, "Error", MessageBoxButtons.OK, MessageBoxIcon.Error); } finally { if (sw != null) { sw.Close(); } } I think as long as I flush and close the streamWriter, I should be able call the WriteToLog multi-times and in multi-threads isn't it? Or if I am wrong, could I simple make the file open shared, or there are other reason/solutions?

  • Calling function and running it

    - by devs
    I am quite new to objects and OOP. I really don't know how to explain it well but I'll try. So I am trying to read though JSON with JS, the JSON is passed from PHP. This would be easy if all of the information was on the same html page, but I' am trying something that I am new too. So let me show my code... First is the JS which is in app.js var Donors = function(){ var api = this.list; $(document).ready(function(){ $.getJSON(api, function(){ var donorObj = api.payload; $.each(donorObj, function(i, donor){ //console.log(donor.ign); }); }); }); } What I want this part to do is read from the JSON I'm giving it and console.log each name (or donor.ign) when the document is ready. On the html page, or header.php <script> $(function(){ var list = <?php cbProxy(); ?>; var Dons = new Donors(); Dons.list = list; }); </script> the data that's in list is the below JSON. You already know what the rest does, it just passes the JSON to the Donors() function. JSON example: { "code": 0, "payload": [ { "time": 1349661897, "packages": [ "49381" ], "ign": "Notch", "price": "15.99", "currency": "USD" } I'm use to just making functions and calling it on the same page or file and this is my first doing this kind of function. How can I get the function to run with the data I sent it so it console.log() each name.
