• Run shell script using fabric and piping script text to shell's stdin

  Is there a way to execute a multi-line shell script by piping it to the remote shell's standard input in fabric? Or must I always write it to the remote filesystem, then run it, then delete it? I like sending to stdin as it avoids the temporary file. If there's no fabric API (and it seems like there is not based on my research), presumably I can just use the ssh module directly. Basically I wish fabric.api.run was not limited to a 1-line command that gets passed to the shell as a command line argument, but instead would take a full multi-line script and write it to the remote shell's standard input.

  Hi, I'm uploading a csv/tsv file from a form in GAE, and I try to parse the file with python csv module. Like describe here, uploaded files in GAE are strings. So I treat my uploaded string a file-like object : file = self.request.get('catalog') catalog = csv.reader(StringIO.StringIO(file),dialect=csv.excel_tab) But new lines in my files are not necessarily '\n' (thanks to excel..), and it generated an error : Error: new-line character seen in unquoted field - do you need to open the file in universal-newline mode? Does anyone know how to use StringIO.StringIO to treat strings like files open in universal-newline?

• Zend Framework Modules can't find/load Models..

  For some frustrating reason, I configured some Modules, which seemed to work fine, However I cannot load a Modules Models. If I move the Models to the Default they load, but I just can't get the Framework to find them locally.. Example: My Modules Directory is: application\modules\books\models\books.php (books is my Model) class Application_Module_Books_Model_Books extends Zend_Db_Table_Abstract {} I also tried.. Books_Model_Books, Model_Books, books, Modules_.. you name it I tried it :) My controller is in the Books Module, and is an Index Controller, and it can never find the Local Model. I'm using Application.ini and it is configured this way: resources.frontController.controllerDirectory = APPLICATION_PATH "/controllers" resources.frontController.params.displayExceptions = 1 resources.frontController.moduleDirectory = APPLICATION_PATH "/modules" I have a BootStrap in the Modules Directory: class Admin_Bootstrap extends Zend_Application_Module_Bootstrap { } I'm on Zend Framework 1.10, and ideas.. ?

• Is there a lightweight multipart/form-data parser in C or C++?

  I'm looking at integrating multipart form-data parsing in a web server module so that I can relieve backend web applications (often written in dynamic languages) from parsing the multipart data themselves. The multipart grammar (RFC 2046) looks non-trivial and if I implement it by hand a lot of things can go wrong. Is there already a good, lightweight multipart/form-data parser written in C or C++? I'm looking for one with no external dependencies other than the C or C++ standard library. I don't need email attachment handling or buffered I/O classes or a portability runtime or whatever, just multipart/form-data parsing. Things that I've considered: GMime - depends on glib, so no go. libapreq - too large, depends on APR, badly documented, no unit tests. I've also looked at writing a parser with Ragel, but I can't figure out how to do it because the grammar is not static: the boundary can change arbitrarily.

• IIS7 or .Net 301 Redirects from 1 domain to another

  I have 2 domains. For the question, I will call them www.old.com and www.new.com. Both urls are pointing to the same IIS7 Site instance. I need to it up so that when someone goes to www.old.com they get a 301 redirect to www.new.com. The tricky part is I am using URL rewrites for pages within the site. So www.old.com/About.aspx redirects to www.new.com/About. To get that to work with IIS7 URL rewrite rules, it also means that www.new.com/About.aspx redirects to www.new.com/About. That is fine and is not a big deal. My issue is how do I redirect the main domain without losing the URL Rewrites from the sub pages? I don't care if I use a module within IIS7 or if I need to do it in .NET code.

• cross-user C# mutex

  My app is forced to use a 3rd party module which will blue-screen Windows if two instances are started at the same time on the same machine. To work around the issue, my C# app has a mutex: static Mutex mutex = new Mutex(true, "{MyApp_b9d19f99-b83e-4755-9b11-d204dbd6d096}"); And I check if it's present - and if so I show an error message and close the app: bool IsAnotherInstanceRunning() { if (mutex.WaitOne(TimeSpan.Zero, true)) return (true); else return (false); } The problem is if two users can log in and open the application at the same time, and IsAnotherInstanceRunning() will return false. How do I get around this?

• Drupal 7: cancel user registration if a wrong field value has been submitted.

Is there a way to cancel user registration, when a new user submits the registration web form with the default Robot value? (i.e. only Male and Female values are allowed). I've looked at the core Trigger module, but don't see anything suitable there. I've looked at the hook_user_presave and hook_user_insert API docs, but don't see a way there to cancel an ongoing user registration. (I was expecting to do that by returning a special value from those methods...) Thank you! Alex

• Python ValueError: not allowed to raise maximum limit

  I'm using python 2.7.2 on mac os 10.7.3 I'm doing a recursive algorithm in python with more than 50 000 recursion levels. I tried to increase the maximum recursion level to 1 000 000 but my python shell still exit after 18 000 recursion levels. • C# progress bar not synced with download (WebClient class)

  Hi, I am coding a system which has a small FTP module included inside, it's not the main feature at all, but needed... I must link the progressbar with the WebClient class event DownloadProgressChangedEventHandler and AsyncCompletedEventHandler, the progressbar increment is ok, and the ASyncCompletedEventHandler launch a MessageBox (as intended), the problem is that the progress bar see to load too slow... problem : My MessageBox pop at 100% (launched by the event handler), BUT when the MessageBox pop my progress bar is only at +-80% (but the .VALUE is really 100), the first though I had was that they have added a "smooth" effect in Windows Vista which slow down the progressbar relatively to it's true value. If any of you have experienced the same problem thanks for your help.

  Hi guys, I'm working on a Flash frontend for a Magento powered store. This frontend will be an alternative to the HTML shop so it will sit in a subdirectory and use the same Magento installation as the main HTML site. The Flash application will get the data from dynamic XML files. It needs to get almost everything as the HTML site (categories, products, cart, etc). I want this to be a Magento module that can be installed on an already existing Magento installation. I would like to use the Block classes available in Magneto's core code as they already provide a lot of the functionality needed. What steps would you take in order to achieve this? Do you know any examples or articles related to this? Thanks!

• How to import *.pyc file from different version of python?

  Hello, I used python 2.5 and imported a file named "irit.py" from C:\util\Python25\Lib\site-packages directory. This files imports the file "_irit.pyc which is in the same directory. It worked well and did what I wanted. Than, I tried the same thing with python version 2.6.4. "irit.py" which is in C:\util\Python26\Lib\site-packages was imported, but "_irit.pyc" (which is in the same directory of 26, like before) hasn't been found. I got the error message: File "C:\util\Python26\lib\site-packages\irit.py", line 5, in import _irit ImportError: DLL load failed: The specified module could not be found. I have not used the re module in Python before...so I am assuming there is a better way to do this... I am also open to a more graceful solution with Beautiful Soup ... but haven't used that either.. Just trying to keep this as simple as possible...

  I have a form (Quote) with an auto-number ID, on the form at the moment are two subforms that show different items (sub 1 shows partition modules sub 2 shows partition abutments) both forms use the same parts tables to build them. Both forms are linked to the quote form using the ID. All works well until the forms is refreshed or re-loaded, subform 1 shows the module names and quantities and blank spaces for the abutment names but shows the quantiews for the abutments, the reverse of this is shown in the abutments subform 2. When the lists for the variuos types and the detailed parts lists are printed they are correct. This seems to be only a visual problem. All based on Access 2003.   I've created a simple application .Net Class that converts an excel spreadsheet into a a pdf file. I then get a Excel 2007 application to call this dll which works fine on my development machine. However when i deploy it on to a machine that has both the .net framework and excel 2007, i get this error - run-time error '429' activex component can't create object when i try and register the tlb or the dll , i get error below. the module c:\temp\test\Printlibarary.dll2 was loaded but the entry-point dllregisterserver was not found. Make sure that ...... is a valid dll or ocx file and then try again. Can someone please help me to resolve this.

• Modify action names for route collections in Symfony?

  When creating an sfPropelRouteCollection, how can I edit the action names that the collection will generate? For example: # Routing for "product" CRUD product: class: sfPropelRouteCollection options: model: Product module: product actions: [new, create, edit, update, delete] How can I change the actual action that is called for any of the new/create/edit/update/delete methods? I'd like for them to call "ajaxNew," "ajaxCreate," etc. so the URL would look something like "product/ajaxNew", or the action for "update" would be "ajaxUpdate". • Issues using ivy

  Hi, I am new bie to ivy. I am using packager resolver and that packager resolver resolves the zip file, unzip it, extracts the jar file from it in temp build file, but it stays temporarily and only the jar file which i specified as a module name gets copied to destination rest of all are ignored. Is there a way i can get all the jar files? I use preseverBuildDirectories but is there a better way to do it? Also is it possible for me to publish an artifact to svn using normal ivy? I got error while i was trying to use ivy 2.1.0 on XP using ant 1.8.0 java.illegalArguementException saying authorization failed. Is there a way i can work through ivy:publish? Is there a way i can use ivy variable in packager.xml? Thanks in advance, Almas

  Hi, I have some URLs, like http://www.example.com/something?param1=value1&param2=value2&param3=value3, and I would like to extract the parameters from these URLs and get them in a Hash. Obviously, I could use regular expressions, but I was just wondering if there was easier ways to do that with Ruby or Rails. I haven't found anything in the Ruby Module 'URI' but perhaps I missed something. In fact, I need a method that would do that : extract_parameters_from_url("http://www.example.com/something?param1=value1&param2=value2&param3=value3") => {:param1 => 'value1', :param2 => 'value2', :param3 => 'value3'} Would you have some advices?   I've deployed a web-module which connects to the database via a datasource configured in the J2EE application server. Currently, the user/password for the database connection is set in the proper J2EE application server's datasources configuration file. I want to change during runtime the datasource's user/password. (e.g.: implement a new web form in which the user is asked to enter de user/password to be used in the database connection). Is there a standard way to do that in J2EE applications or it depends on the J2EE application server? In this case I'm using Orion application server.
