    Hi, I need a rule and condition to handle this scenario: User from US visits www.domain.com, domain.com, www.domain.com/ or domain.com/ this should be redirected to www.domain.com/usvisitor/ However, if a user from the US visits www.domain.com/anydirectory it will let them straight through without a redirection occurring. eg. RewriteEngine On RewriteBase / GeoIPEnable On GeoIPDBFile /var/share/GeoIP/GeoIP.dat RewriteEngine on RewriteCond %{ENV:GEOIP_COUNTRY_CODE} ^US$ RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^domain.com$ [L] RewriteRule ^/$ http://www.domain.com/usvisitor$1 [L] I know the RewriteConditons and rules are wrong - just can't get my head around it!

  • mod_rewrite failing on uppercase dir

    I have a very basic mod_rewrite in a .htaccess file which I'm sure worked last time I looked at it, but now it is doing strange things with the case of the REQUEST_URI. It's intended purpose is to rewrite sub-domains to a given file, passing the subdomain as a php var of bnurl. Here is my code: RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI}= "RSDEV/location/" [NC] RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} . RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} !^www\. [NC] RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^([^.]+)\.mydomain\.co\.uk(:80)? [NC] RewriteRule ^RSDEV/location/$ RSDEV/newmain.php?bnurl=%1&accesstype=new [NC,L] Now, typing joebloggs.mydomain.co.uk/RSDEV/location/ into my web browser comes back with the response "The requested URL /RSDEV/location/ was not found on this server" which is a correct statement because /RSDEV/location/ is not a real directory, but why did it not rewrite to RSDEV/newmain.php?bnurl=joebloggs&accesstype=new as expected? Now, the really strange thing here is that if I enter joebloggs.mydomain.co.uk/rsdev/location/ into my browser (note rsdev is now lowercase), it correctly rewrites as expected. The script newmain.php is in dir RSDEV (uppercase) so if it was going to fail, I would have expected it to fail the other way round with the lowercase rsdev. As you can see, I have [NC] on each line. Is this my mod_rewrite code failing or some other mystical server force keeping me up all night?

    Can you any one see anything wrong with the following apache rewrite rule: This is in my .htaccess file inside a folder called "text" a subdirectory of localhost/lombardpress I have the following rule Options +FollowSymlinks RewriteEngine on RewriteRule ([^/]+) /textdisplay.php?fs=$1 [NC] I was expecting this input: http://localhost/lombardpress-dev/text/lectio1 to rewrite to this: http://localhost/lombardpress-dev/text/textdisplay?fs=lectio1 But instead I get a 404 error. The requested URL /textdisplay.php was not found on this server. It looks to me like the RewriteRule has re-written the address but not as I intended - so there must be something wrong with my regular expression. Let me know if I can provide further information.

    Seems unlikely, but is there any way to generate a set of unit tests for the following rewrite rule: RewriteRule ^/(user|group|country)/([a-z]+)/(photos|videos)$ http:/whatever?type=$1&entity=$2&resource=$3 From this I'd like to generate a set of urls of the form: /user/foo/photos /user/bar/photos /group/baz/videos /country/bar/photos etc... The reason I don't want to just do this once by hand is that I'd like the bounded alternation groups (e.g. (user|group|country)) to be able to grow and maintain coverage without having the update the tests by hand. Is there a rewrite rule or regex parser that might be able to do this, or am I doing it by hand?

  • Url rewriting : prevent to display xml

    Edit : I've got an aspx file (default.aspx) that loads a flash file (index.swf), but this swf needs a xml file (foo.xml) to load correctly. However, I would like to block any request aiming directly at the xml file. Is it possible, using a rewritting engine (isapi_rewrite for example) to detect if the xml file is being 'hotlinked' or being loaded by the 'index.swf'(inside default.aspx)? Any ideas? Thank you.

  • Why I cannot access the properties of my Custom ComboBox

    Ok, I created a windows control project....dropped a comboBox on it, wrote some custom code that I wanted on its event ( Text Changed event, etc) ... I can also compile it and drop it on a new WinForms App... good. But in my sample WinForms app that I want to use it, I cannot access the properties of that combo box.. it does not list them .. properties like SelectedItems, etc... what Am I doing wrong? this is my first time creating a custom control tho.     How do I write a mod_rewrite regulare expression rule that is the opposite of this: ^(.+)/path/(page1|page2)+$ ie, I want all pages except blah/path/page1 and blah/path/page2 to redirect to another path, where the x in blah/path/x is used in the new path. For example, I'd like write a rewrite rule like: RewriteRule some_regex /index.php?path/show/$1 [L] where some_regex would pull out the last component of a url in the format: /something/path/some_param to redirect to /index.php/path/show/some_param I'm trying to use ! and [^] syntax, but I don't quite understand how these work, especially when they involve words not single characters.

    Syntax question: I am using the code below to call a query in Access VBA strSQL = "INSERT INTO tblLoanDetails ([ServerName]) VALUES ('Test') WHERE [ID]=3" Call CurrentDb.Execute(strSQL) And i am getting a runtime error of "3067: Query must contain atleast one table or query." the insert statement string looks like this (Threw the var into a text box): INSERT INTO tblLoanDetails ([ServerName]) VALUES ('Test') WHERE [ID]=3 I also tried adding a semi-colon to the end but with no luck. I also double checked to make sure my table is called tblLoanDetails and my Column names are ServerName, and ID Appreciate any help.

    I want to ensure that regardless of what browser a user is in, they all see the EXACT same characters in the URL bar. Most browsers show the preceding protocol type in the URL bar. However, Chrome for example truncates http:// (not sure about https) and starts with the domain name, ie: Chrome: stackoverflow.com/questions/ask Safari: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/ask So, is there a way to either suppress the http:// in all browsers, or even enforce it in all browsers? Preferably suppress.

  • Rewrite only URLs that don't exist

    I'm looking for a way to rewrite URLs only if the path doesn't exist. This isn't to handle 404s, but to redirect page URLs to a shared PHP file (ie: '/contact-us/' - '/show_page.php?page=contact-us'). The basic redirect is easy enough to achieve, however I want to be able to override the default page by adding '/contact-us/index.php' in the site root. Is this achievable with mod_rewrite or would I have to do something else?

    I'm migrating some code from a working web app, but can't get it to work on the new server. Everything seems to be configured correctly, but I'm getting internal redirect limit errors in Apache2. Here are my rewrites and explanation This WORKS - any subdomains that aren't cdn. or manage. should be redirected to u.php RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^(^.*)\.mediasprk\.com$ [NC] RewriteCond ^(.*)$ !^(cdn|manage)$ RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} !\.(png|gif|jpg)$ RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f RewriteRule ^(.*)$ u.php?uri=$1&hostName=%{HTTP_HOST} This is no longer working. Goal here is to handle CName pointing. So if it's not my app domain (mediasprk.com), then handle it by sending it to u.php. RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} !^mediasprk\.com$ [NC] RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI) !\.(png|gif|jpg)$ RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f RewriteRule ^(.*)$ u.php?uri=$1&hostName=%{HTTP_HOST} Can anyone see the issue here in the second block that would cause the redirect limit errors?   • Using mod_negotiation to serve webp if the UA requests it.

    Is it possible to use mod_negotiation to serve up a webp image if the browser supports it, and a jpg otherwise? For instance, if I link to an image with the path /images/test, it serves the image found at /images/test.webp if the UA knows about webp, or jpg otherwise? I've tried poking around, but it seems that the Accept headers in Chrome at least look like Accept:*/*, rather than specifying the image type. If this isn't the way to do it, has anyone got any other suggestions?

    I am playing with mod_rewrite now, and have successfully enabled it. However, I need to put a htaccess file inside var/www/ in order to achieve what I want, which is to rename Urls simply... When I place it my website becomes very strange and nothing basically works... Is there any code I need to put into the htaccess file in order for things to act normally? Here is the htaccess file I have so far: Options +FollowSymLinks Options +Indexes RewriteEngine On RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} !^/ad\.php RewriteRule ^(.*)$ ad.php?ad_id=$1 [L] My DocumentRoot is also set to var/www/ and my entire website root is there... The second one does. All I get when I enter .../users/1/post is a 404 error. What am I doing wrong? Edit: The error log doesn't have anything in it relating to this.
