• Filesize with SWFUpload and Amazon S3

  Hello all, I'm currently using SWFUpload to upload files to my S3 bucket. And it's working great. I'm using the script from a website here: http://www.anedix.com/news/article/50 Again, the upload to my S3 works fine, however, I've been running into an issue when attempting to upload larger files. It seems that I cannot upload anything over 50MB. I have tried this from both my webhost and locally, using my local testing environment. My question is this: When uploading with SWFUpload, it should be going straight to Amazon S3, correct? If so, then PHP settings such as MAX_UPLOAD_SIZE should not affect it? (Even though in my local environment, I've set it to 1024MB.) Essentially, what the script does is, shows that it's uploading the file (it takes the appropriate amount of time), redirects to the success page, and does not throw any errors. Any ideas on why this would be happening, or how I can troubleshoot this? Thanks!

• Acordex Image viewer throws out of memory exception in CITRIX environment

  We have a .net 2.0 application. In the .aspx page we are calling the java applet using . This applet is calling the Acordex Image viewer. In the production environment users are facing "out of memory" or "insufficient memory" issues when users try to open the image or magnify an image in Acordex viewer. Strangely when the users logout and login again they are able to see the same image without any errors. The website is hosted in a CITRIX environment. We have access to this environment but we are not able to reproduce this issue on the test servers or the local machines. We dont know what is causing this issue. What should we do to troubleshoot the issue? Do we have to increase the memory allotted to the users in CITRIX? The RAM is around 4 gb. • NSFetchedResultsController when navigating from one UITableViewController to another ...

  In my core data model I have a Person entity that has a "to many" relationship a Course entity (I also have an inverse "to one" relationship from Course to Person). Now I have a subclassed UITableViewController that uses a NSFetchedResultsController to display Person objects which works fine. I have this set up so that when you click on a Person it publishes another subclassed UITableViewController that uses a NSFetchedController as well to display the Courses associated to the person. PROBLEM: I get this exception whenever I click on the Person and attempt to display the Course UITableViewController ... "Terminating app due to uncaught exception 'NSInvalidArgumentException', reason: 'keypath name not found in entity '" Any ideas on how to resolve or troubleshoot? The code between the two ViewControllers is almost identical except for the NSFetchedResultsController being configured for "Person" entities in one and "Course" entities in another

• Python-MySQLdb problem: wrong ELF class: ELFCLASS32

  As part of trying out django CMS (http://www.django-cms.org/), I'm struggling with getting Python-MySQLdb to work (http://pypi.python.org/pypi/MySQL-python/). I have installed Django CMS and all of its dependencies (Python 2.5, Django, django-south, MySQL server) I'm trying out the example code within Django CMS code with MySQL as chosen database type When I execute python manage.py syncdb, the following error occurs: django.core.exceptions.ImproperlyConfigured: Error loading MySQLdb module: /root/.python-eggs/MySQL_python-1.2.3c1-py2.5-linux-i686.egg-tmp/_mysql.so: wrong ELF class: ELFCLASS32 I have been able to trace the problem specifically to python-mySQLdb (as also visible in the stack trace). Other than that, I am completely puzzled. I don't have a clue what ELFCLASS32 means, or what ELF class is anyway. I suspect that this error could have something to do with the fact that I am running 64-bit version of Debian 5 (on a VPS). Any good ideas how to troubleshoot?

  I have my asp.net web server setup to use windows authentication. It is authenticating just fine with my current logged in user. I can verify this by viewing ... HttpContext.Current.User.Identity.Name And I can verify that I am authenticated by viewing... HttpContext.Current.User.Identity.IsAuthenticated However, when I call the .IsInRole function I get the trust relationship error... HttpContext.Current.User.IsInRole("accounting") I have found online references to problems with supplying domain name with the role name (domain\accounting), but I still get the same error. Any suggestions on where to look or troubleshoot the problem?

If I replace the LIKE with something such as: SELECT col1, col2 FROM table1 t1 JOIN table2 t2 ON t1.cityid = t2.cityid where t1.cityname = ? order by t1.cityname It works fine. I do open/close the DB before after the above code. Is there a way to troubleshoot exactly why the database can't be opened and what its relationship to my LIKE syntax is?

• windbg and symbols

  When I set a breakpoint on one of the methods that appears on top of the stack (!CLRStack), I get lots of these messages for every DLL that the debuggee is referencing including the .NET Framework ones. ERROR: Module load completed but symbols could not be loaded Further digging into this shows that windbg is not loading every .pdb file that I make available in the symbols path. I've double-checked my symbol's path and it looks OK, but the following commands clearly show that not all PDBs are loaded correctly! 0:000 !sym noisy noisy mode - symbol prompts on 0:000 .reload Reloading current modules ................................................................ DBGHELP: ntdll - public symbols c:\symbols\ntdll.pdb\6992F4DAF4B144068D78669D6CB5D2072\ntdll.pdb .. 0:000 .sympath Symbol search path is: SRV*c:\symbols*C:\xc Expanded Symbol search path is: srv*c:\symbols*c:\xc I've c:\symbols being used for the cache and c:\xc being used for the .NET app PDBs that WinDBG seems unable to find.   We have set up a BDC Profile Import for Sharepoint 2007 and it works well for 99% of the users. A handful fails with the "Exception occured when calling into BIL connector for import from non master data source" message in the crawl log, though The ULS logs reveal the following information: Exception Profile Import: Exception occured when importing user: '[redacted]\[redacted]'. Microsoft.Office.Server.UserProfiles.PropertyInvalidValueException: Invalid Property Value: Could not find SID corresponding to input account name I have confirmed that the user has a sharepoint profile matching the username is a valid domain user exists in AD Can anyone help med troubleshoot this?

• Ruby server very slow outside localhost (teambox)

  I just installed TeamBox on my Ubuntu 9.10 server. I have it up and running on port 3000 using the provided server script. It's running extremely slow, up to 30 seconds per HTTP request when connecting from another computer. I used links to load up TeamBox from the shell and it took no time at all. I then setup an SSH tunnel and again it was working very fast. I run about 30 vhosts through apache on this server, as well as SAMBA etc and do not have any problems. How can I troubleshoot this problem?

• How do you convert date taken from a bash script to milliseconds in a Java program?

  I am writing a piece of code in Java that needs to take a time sent from a bash script and parse the time to milliseconds. When I check the millisecond conversion on the date everything is correct except for the month I have sent which is January instead of March. Here is the variable I create in the bash script, which later in the script I pass to the Java program: TIME=`date +%m%d%Y_%H:%M:%S` Here is the Java code which parses the time to milliseconds: String dt = "${scriptstart}"; java.text.SimpleDateFormat scriptStart = new java.text.SimpleDateFormat("MMDDyyyy_HH:mm:ss"); long start = scriptStart.parse(dt).getTime(); The goal of this statement is to find the elapsed time between the start of the script and the current system time. • Why isn't "String or Binary data would be truncated" a more descriptive error?

  To start: I understand what this error means - I'm not attempting to resolve an instance of it. This error is notoriously difficult to troubleshoot, because if you get it inserting a million rows into a table 100 columns wide, there's virtually no way to determine what column of what row is causing the error - you have to modify your process to insert one row at a time, and then see which one fails. That's a pain, to put it mildly. Is there any reason that the error doesn't look more like this? String or Binary data would be truncated Error inserting value "Some 18 char value" into SomeTable.SomeColumn VARCHAR(10) That would make it a lot easier to find and correct the value, if not the table structure itself. If seeing the table data is a security concern, then maybe something generic, like giving the length of the attempted value and the name of the failing column?

• Amazon EC2 EBS automatic backup one-liner works manually but not from cron

  I am trying to implement an automatic backup system for my EBS on Amazon AWS. When I run this command as ec2-user: /opt/aws/bin/ec2-create-snapshot --region us-east-1 -K /home/ec2-user/pk.pem -C /home/ec2-user/cert.pem -d "vol-******** snapshot" vol-******** everything works fine. But if I add this line into /etc/crontab and restart the crond service: 15 12 * * * ec2-user /opt/aws/bin/ec2-create-snapshot --region us-east-1 -K /home/ec2-user/pk.pem -C /home/ec2-user/cert.pem -d "vol-******** snapshot" vol-******** that doesn't work. I checked var/log/cron and there is this line, therefore the command gets executed: Dec 13 12:15:01 ip-10-204-111-94 CROND[4201]: (ec2-user) CMD (/opt/aws/bin/ec2-create-snapshot --region us-east-1 -K /home/ec2-user/pk.pem -C /home/ec2-user/cert.pem -d "vol-******** snapshot" vol-******** ) Can you please help me to troubleshoot the problem? I guess is some environment problem - maybe the lack of some variable. If that's the case I don't know what to do about it. Thanks.

• sqlite compiler errors

  Hello, when including "sqlite.c" into my project, I get lots of compiler errors: error C2027: use of undefined type "_ht" d:\...\sqlite3.c line 19556 ... fatal error C1003: Errors in the program are too numerous to allow recovery. The compiler must terminate. When inlcuding "sqlite.c" into an empty test project, I have no problems. I already compared project settings and there are no big differences. How can I troubleshoot this problem? Is there anyone who had the same issue? Thanks, mspoerr

• missing event when using modules with requirejs

  I had javascript code in a single JS file that was working fine (using XHR/AJAX). When I split it up into separate modules in a requirejs application, I do not seem to get a handle on the event object & it shows up as undefined (testing in firefox 29.0.1). • Eclipse (Springsource Tool Suite 2.3.1) can't resolve dependencies for classes in the same package

  This started happening when I upgraded my Springsource Toolsuite from 2.3 to 2.3.1. Essentially whenever I do anything, such as open a file, change a file, etc, I have to do a clean. Everything works fine when I do mvn commands on the command line, which leads me to believe that Eclipse is looking in the wrong place for compiled code or something along those lines, although that is entirely superstitious at this point. Example: I make a change to com.foo.mypackage.MyClass. Suddenly a bunch of tests that excercise MyClass get the red x - for class not found! In src/main/test: com.foo.DbUnitTest com.foo.mypackage.FooTest extends DbUnitTest DbUnitTest gets a class not found. I do a clean, and everything is fine. I touch something, and it breaks again :(. I don't really know where to begin on how to troubleshoot this.

  I've read the following Mozilla Developer article that explains how to implement HTML 5 offline resource caching in web apps. I've tried testing this locally: added the mime type to the list, created the manifest file, changed my doctype to the HTML 5 doctype, specified the manifest attribute and the correct path on the HTML element--but still I don't see the manifest file being consumed by Firefox at all. I've also checked the access logs on Apache and didn't see any requests for the manifest file being made. Has anyone given it a jab and had any success? I just don't know how to further troubleshoot the issue and would welcome any suggestions.

• Problem authenticating with shiro in grails app

  I have a grails 1.2 app and I want to use declarative security in order to restrict accesses based on roles. I decided to try shiro, installed the plugin, but when I try to authenticate, the message "Invalid username and/or password" shows up in the header. I check the db entry and the user is there with the sha'ed password. No messages are shown neither in the console nor in the stacktrace file. I added "warn 'org.jsecurity'" to Config.groovy with no results. Any hints/tricks to troubleshoot this ?

• UITableView via NSFetchedResultsControllerDelegate, select first record by default?

  I have a UITableView that gets populated from CoreData via a controller that implements NSFetchedResultsControllerDelegate. How can I have it automatically select the first row (and fire the tableView:didSelectRowAtIndexPath message)? The tableview is used for a variety of predicate queries, so I'm suspicious of solutions that work on the UIViewController lifecycle (viewDidLoad, etc), but I'm new to the platform, so I'm open. I've tried a variety of things, but I'm not sure where in the call stack to put it. I've tried calling cell.selected = true inside tableView:cellForRowAtIndex: method, but that just ends up turning the cell black (and doesn't fire the selected callback method) A tagent question, with all the delegating and core data protocols, does it imply asynchronous data fetch (multiple threads)? Or is the NSFetchedResultsController calling all its related methods in the same thread? Maybe I'm just scared that if it is async, there would be race conditions that would be tough to troubleshoot later.

  I'm trying to deploy my WCF RIA services application to our in-house server for testing. I am running the version of the exe that I found inside of C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v4.0.21006 There is also C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v3.0\Windows Communication Foundation that has (what I assume is) the same exe in it, and I can use it just fine. I've tried to un-install the 3.0 version before installing the 4.0 version, but I am still getting the same warning and failure. Has anyone successfully done this with .net 4.0?

• Need help getting Suspend to work in Ubuntu on laptop

  I've been doing a lot of research, but I've got to admit right out front that I'm not even sure exactly what is the right question. I've installed Kubuntu 10.4 on a Panasonic Toughbook CF-29. When I try to uses "suspend", the screen flickers, and then the hard drive light goes off but the power light stays on. I looked at the /var/log/pm-suspend.log, but I don't seen any errors... though I'm not sure what success should look like either. So I guess my real question is a bit more accurately stated as "How do I troubleshoot suspend not working in Kubuntu on a laptop?" Thanks, Aerik

• Interface Builder only allows one button to be "touchable"

  I'm making a clone of the classic game simon, the memory matching game. My (iPad) app will load fine, i tap start, the game screen loads, and only one of my four buttons will respond to touch commands. To troubleshoot, I tried creating a second unrelated nib and just populating it with four buttons not linked to anything. However, only one of those four buttons would respond to touch! There are no IBActions being called, nothing. Both the view itself, and all four buttons are touch enabled in the inspector...I'm stumped. I'm moreso asking if anyone has encountered anything simillar, as I'd rather not burden potential help with app-specific questions if it's avoidable. Thank you!

• Babel Django Off By 1 Cent

  I ran into a problem today while using BabelDjango and thought I would ask if anyone has ran into anything similar. I was using the tags in my templates, {% load babel %} and then {{amount_owed|currencyfmt:"USD"}} which returned the amount_owed minus one-cent. I thought maybe the returned value was 9.949999 which should still be $9.95 but when I returned the raw value it returned "9.95". However when I formatted it using the babel tags the rsult was off by one-cent. My 9.95 returned "$9.94" Anyone have any advice where to look to troubleshoot this problem? • Weird Behavior with Jquery image slideshow... Help!

  I built a jquery slideshow based on the tutorial found here: http://www.queness.com/post/152/simple-jquery-image-slide-show-with-semi-transparent-caption It seems to be working perfectly fine, except that it behaves strangley right at the beginning when it displays the first image. The first image appears like normal and then flashes, fades to white and disappears completely. After that, the first slide reappears and behaves normally, transitioning to the next image. The slideshow in question is center page on the right: http://www.loftist.com/ I am not a JS developer, so I am not sure how to troubleshoot this problem. • DBCC CHECKDB WITH DATA_PURITY gives out of range error

  Hi there, I have restore a SQL Server 2000 database onto SQL Server 2005 and then run DBCC CHECKDB WITH DATA_PURITY and I get this error: Msg 2570, Level 16, State 3, Line 2 Page (1:19558), slot 13 in object ID 181575685, index ID 1, partition ID 293374720802816, alloc unit ID 11899744092160 (type "In-row data"). Column "NumberOfShares" value is out of range for data type "numeric". Update column to a legal value. The column NumberOfShares is a numeric (19,6) data type. If I run the following select max (NumberOfShares) from AUDIT_Table select min (NumberOfShares) from AUDIT_Table I get: 22678647.839110 -1845953000.000000 These values are inside the bounds of a numeric (19,6) so I'm not sure why the DBCC check fails. Any ideas to find out why it fails? Do I need to use DBCC PAGE? How would you troubleshoot this? Thanks, Mark.
