• Implement keyboard control in JavaScript Grid

  I finished building a JavaScript grid control, end everything works fine. Paging, button navigation, column sorting, etc. The cells in the grid are DIVs which are generated using Mootools 1.2.4 (which is heavily used throughout the control). I want to implement keyboard control for the grid, both for paging (page up/page down) and for moving with arrow keys inside the rows/cells of the grid. I think that I have to attach an event handler on each cell of the grid and detect what key is being pressed in order to take an appropriate action. But, I can't set the focus on the cells. What am I missing? How do I do this? Any help is appreciated.

• How do I Moq It.IsAny for an array in the setup of a method?

  I'm brand new to Moq (using v 4) and am struggling a little with the documentation. What I'm trying to do is to Moq a method that takes a byte array and returns an object. Something like: decoderMock.Setup(d => d.Decode(????).Returns(() => tagMock.Object); The ???? is where the byte[] should be, but I can't work out how to make it so that I don't care what's in the byte array, just return the mocked object I've already set up. Moq.It.IsAny expects a generic. Any help please?

Plain HTML based UI tier with JQuery/Ajax. No Postback at all, This contradicts the Default behaviour of Asp.Net Server Control/Code Behind Event handler/Postback. I am a Asp.Net Web Developer for around 4 years, and concerned about the future of ASP.Net. Is the Default Architecture of ASP.Net is Outdated at all?   Why i can't trigget handler via triggerHandler if it's was bound via live? • Will the URL /nosuchpage get routed via my ASP.NET MVC application?

  [I'm trying to figure out the reason why I'm having another problem, and this question is part of the puzzle.] I have an MVC 2 website that has routing set up so that URLs such as /Customer/23/Order/47 get handled by various controllers. I do not have a rule that would match, for example, /nosuchpage and in my Cassini environment a request for that URL will trigger my Application_Error code, which lets me log the error and show a friendly response. However, when I deployed this website on IIS7 using integrated mode, my Application_Error is not triggered, and IIS shows its own 404 message. No matter what I've tried, I can't get Application_Error to fire. Now I'm thinking: is the reason it doesn't fire because the request is not getting routed via my application? Either because I didn't explicitly set up a catch-all route, or because the file-extension fools it into thinking it should use the "static file handler" (whatever that is)? Should I expect my Application_Error to be invoked?

• UrlRewriter.Net with URL with final dot

  I want to use UrlRewriter.Net as described in this blog by ScottGu. In the example below, page.aspx should display a page text stored in the database based on the title= URL parameter. After a couple of tweaks the only remaining issue seems to be that a final dot in the URL causes a 404 a sequence of two dots in the URL causes a 400 Windows 7, IIS 7 with Integrated AppPool, VS2008. Looking at the Failed Request Log, it seems that the UrlRewriter module is called after retrieving the request handler. Can these two issues be fixed, or is there a better replacement for UrlRewriter? (A related question only asks about the 404) Edit: This behavior can even be reproduced on SO, so maybe there is no work-around?

• AuthenticationType Negotiate vs NTLM

  I have the same code base used on 2 different sites hosted on the same server (IIS 7.5). For some reason, when I check the Identity.AuthenticationType property on the code behind of an http handler I see NTLM for 1 site and Negotiate for the other. This is causing some problems and I need both of them to use NTLM. Could you help me to figure out why this difference? So far I see both IIS sites are configured on the same way but of course there is at least 1 difference that I couldn't detect. Thanks!

  OK, so it's almost a programming question - The VS2008 dialog event wizard has stopped working. Double-clicking on a button in an MFC dialog project does not fire the wizard as usual and a right-click to get to the 'Add Event Handler...' shows a dialog with no message types. Further to this the MFC message mapping and virtual class listing that generally appears in the properties window (Alt + Enter) is now empty. Has anyone elese seen this and if so, how'd they fix it? I have 'repaired' my VS08 installation ... Thx++ Jerry

  I want to setup my lighttpd server to proxy some requests (for ex. RSS requests) to other domains so i can fetch data using javascript. For example i'd like to fetch Atmo feed from internal Redmine (say http://code.internal.acme) to developer dashboard (say http://dashboard.internal.acme). I'd like to fetch it using JavaScript but i cant use something like JSONP and i don't want to use Flash for that. Currently i have this in my lighttpd.conf proxy.server = ( "/http-bind/" => ( ( "host" => "10.0.100.52", "port" => 5280 ) ) ) This way i can connect to our internal jabber server via Javascript. But i want more generic way... Something like proxy.server = ( "/proxy/{1}" => ( ( "url" => {1} ) ) )

• Django: Can class-based views accept two forms at a time?

• AJAX calls from multiple browser tabs at the same time:

  When an user tries to send AJAX requests simultaneously from multiple browser tabs, the earlier requests get completed and the page loads but the other AJAX calls are preempted. AS a result of which the response is empty for the other calls. Only one call survives. In my application using struts 2.0, JSP and javascript and the prototype framework, i found that the server response is empty in the cases mentioned above though the data gets updated in teh database with the request parameters. The onSucess event handler for Ajax.request gets called but the the response is empty. Can you please help? Thanks

• C#: Farm out jobs to worker processes on a multi-processor machine

  Hi there, I have a generic check that needs to be run on ca. 1000 objects. The check takes about 3 seconds. We have a server with 4 processors (and we also have other multi-processor servers in our network) so we would like to create an exe / dll to do the checking and return the results to the "master". Does anyone know of a framework for this, or how would one go about it in C#? Specifically: * What's the best way to transfer data between the master and the worker process? * How would the master ensure that always 4 processes are running at any one time and as soon as a worker process is finished start a new one. * How to register that the worker is finished and append it's results to a list?   As discussed here, I'm trying to add a WCF endpoint-extension; I've got it working, but I need to include the full assembly details: <extensions> <behaviorExtensions> <add name="protobuf" type="ProtoBuf.ServiceModel.ProtoBehaviorExtension, protobuf-net, Version=1.0.0.275, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=257b51d87d2e4d67"/> </behaviorExtensions> </extensions> What I would like to do (to avoid issues when updating etc, especially for samples) is to include just the names: <add name="protobuf" type="ProtoBuf.ServiceModel.ProtoBehaviorExtension, protobuf-net"/> (which is what you might expect from standard assembly-naming conventions) However, if I do this, I get a big error: Parser Error Message: An error occurred creating the configuration section handler for system.serviceModel/behaviors: Extension element 'protobuf' cannot be added to this element. Verify that the extension is registered in the extension collection at system.serviceModel/extensions/behaviorExtensions. Is it possible (and if so: how) to add an extension without having to specify the assembly-version?

• Why my custom CStatic derived control does not receive WM_SIZE message?

  Hello everyone! I'm currently developing a custom control that derives from CStatic MFC class (Smart Device C++ project). I have created the control class using VC++ MFC class wizard, selecting CStatic class as its base class. I have used Class View to add OnSize event handler for my control class (I have selected WM_SIZE message from messages list), and new OnSize method has been created by Visual Studio along with ON_WM_SIZE() statement between BEGIN_MESSAGE_MAP(...) and END_MESSAGE_MAP(). The problem is that my control does not receive WM_SIZE thus OnSize method is never called - I used MoveWindow to change size of my control - its size changes as I have seen on dialog window but WM_SIZE message is never being sent. When I send WM_SIZE through SendMessage or PostMessage function - the control OnSize method is called normally. What do I wrong? I've read MSDN docs about CStatic control and there is no information that WM_SIZE message is never sent to a static control window. Sorry for my bad English.

The html for the control is done in the RenderControls of the code, the control devrives from WebControl, IScriptControl, INamingContainer. The button is coded as follow in the RenderControls: System.Web.UI.WebControls.ImageButton img = new System.Web.UI.WebControls.ImageButton(); img.ImageUrl = "Url of the image"; img.Click += new ImageClickEventHandler(img_Click); img.ID = this.ClientID + "_img"; img.CausesValidation = false; imgLock.RenderControl(output); The button apreas in the browser but when i click on it, the page postsback but the event handler for the button doesn't get fired, from what i can figure out, since the control goes throught RenderControls eachtime the page is posted back, the button gets redrawn and the event handling disapears. This server control is in a master page. Anyone can help me on this? Thanks

A custom layout includes a photo for the recipe , Now I've some problems with the performance of viewing and scrolling the Listview although it has only 10 records (Target is 150). sometimes i get this error java.lang.OutOfMemoryError: bitmap size exceeds VM budget , I've tried to implement the Async task but i failed to do it. • How do I copy input from one textbox to another via checkbox using jQuery?

  I'm cleaning up a simple form that has a Start Date textbox and an End Date textbox. I want to add a checkbox in between these fields that the user can check if the End Date is the same as the Start Date, so when they check it, the Start Date input value (e.g., 04/01/09) will automagically appear in the End Date textbox, so they don't have to type in the same date twice. Does that make sense? BTW, I'm using the sexy jquery datepicker UI, and it's sweet, but I just can't figure out the above problem. I know there's a simple solution (event handler?) but I'm stumped.
