    Authlogic is trying to prepend a before_filter in ActionController::Base to active itself, the problem is that ApplicationController has already been loaded meaning the before_filter won't get copied into your application. Generally this is due to another gem or plugin requiring your ApplicationController prematurely, such as the resource_controller plugin. The solution is to require Authlogic before these other gems / plugins. Please require authlogic first to get rid of this error. (Authlogic::ControllerAdapters::RailsAdapter::AuthlogicLoadedTooLateError) I had installed radiant 0.9.rc2, extension reader and required gem Authologic So while running script/server on ubuntu 9.04 i am receiving the above error Any Suggestion, Thanx in advance

    I am trying to build a CMS using ERB. Is there a way you can give ERB code read-only access to your models? For instance, I want to be able to load any information on my models (Model.all, Model.find_by_slug, Model.find_by_name, Model.other_model.name, etc...), but I don't want to be able to change this data. Can you disable ERB from executing commands that would make database changes (Model.save, Model.update, Model.delete, Model.destroy, etc.)???

The Kind can belong to many Items. but i get a "unknown attribute: kinds" in my OrdersController when i hit the submit form button. I use nested forms btw.     Hi, I am running a query using a scope and some conditions. Something like this: conditions[:offset] = (options[:page].to_i - 1) * PAGE_SIZE unless options[:page].blank? conditions[:limit] = options[:limit] ||= PAGE_SIZE scope = Promo.enabled.active results = scope.all conditions I'd like to add a computed column to the query (at the point when I'm now calling scope.all). Something like this: (ACOS(least(1,COS(0.71106459055501)*COS(-1.2915436464758)*COS(RADIANS(addresses.lat))*COS(RADIANS(addresses.lng))+ COS(0.71106459055501)*SIN(-1.2915436464758)*COS(RADIANS(addresses.lat))*SIN(RADIANS(addresses.lng))+ SIN(0.71106459055501)*SIN(RADIANS(addresses.lat))))*3963.19) as accurate_distance Is there a way to do that without just using find_by_sql and rewriting the whole existing query?     An event has many artists, and an artist has many events. The join of an artist and an event is called a performance. I want to add artists to an event. This works except that I'm getting duplicate entries into my join table when creating a new event. Just like I have pressed Esc during the process. In fact status bar of the browser says "Stopped". Any help is highly appreciated.

  • Escape doube and single backslashes in a string in Ruby

    Hello. I'm trying to access a network path in my ruby script on a windows platform in a format like this. \\servername\some windows share\folder 1\folder2\ Now If I try to use this as a path, it won't work. Single backslashes are not properly escaped for this script. path = "\\servername\some windows share\folder 1\folder2\" d = Dir.new(path) I tried everything I could think of to properly escape slashes in the path. However I can't escape that single backslash - because of it's special meaning. I tried single quotes, double quotes, escaping backslash itself, using alternate quotes such as %Q{} or %q{}, using ascii to char conversion. Nothing works in a sense that I'm not doing it right. :-) Right now the temp solution is to Map a network drive N:\ pointing to that path and access it that way, but that not a solution. Does anyone have any idea how to properly escape single backslashes? Thank you

I want to be able to search in the Products index.html.erb so a user selects a type from a drop down list, clicks search and all the products matching that type are returned. I can get normal search methods working where the user enters in their search in a text box but I cannot get it working when they just select from a dropdown. Can anyone help?

  • Is there a way to validates_presence_of only one time? (to skip that validation once the user's been

    So, I'd like for a user to see an error message if he submits a comment and the :name is blank (typical error message, don't need help with that). However, I'd then like to allow the user to skip that validation once he's been notified that "we like all comments to have a name." So, he submits the comment once, sees the notification, then can submit the form again unchanged if he really doesn't want to add a name, and the validates_presences_of :name is skipped. But, I'm not sure how to go about doing this. I thought about checking to see where the request is coming from, but after a create, errors are handed off to the "new" action, which is the same as actual "new" comments. I then thought about checking to see if flash[errors] were present, but that won't work because there are other validations a comment has to pass. Finally, I thought about trying a validates_presences_of :name, :unless = :notified but wasn't sure how to define notified. I honestly hate asking such an open ended question, but wasn't sure where to get started. So, is there a way to just check a certain validation once?

    I'd like to call an action with a link_to button without being redirected to another page(I don't want ajax). For you to have an idea, I'm trying to accomplish a sort "link button" in a search page. So, when the link is clicked, the page should be refreshed showing the list ordered as I tell it in the action.
