  • Android Emulator and adb problems

    I'm having a problem in that whenever I start a emulator, either manually through the command line, or when debugging from Eclipse, it is never recognized by adb, i.e. 'adb devices' will not list it. I have to manually kill and restart adb every time I want to recognize a new emulator. Surely, something is wrong here? (I'm on Vista 64-bit)

  • make textarea fullscreen jquery (for use as code editor)

    I have a text area in which users can type source code (html/css/js). I want to be able to let them click a "switch to fullscreen" link to make the editor fullscreen. Of course, this should work on any resolution and must also resize when a users resizes it's window. I found this plugin, http://plugins.jquery.com/project/fulltextarea, but it's not resizing when the browser windows is resized. Any tips or plugins for this one?

    Anyone seen this before? CREATE DATABASE permission denied in database 'master'. An attempt to attach an auto-named database for file C:\Documents and Settings\..\App_Data\HelloWorld.mdf failed. A database with the same name exists, or specified file cannot be opened, or it is located on UNC share. I'm asking on a friend's behalf.     I am having trouble figuring out the if statement code for changing the color of a UI label based on the current color of the label. For instance, if the label color is currently red and the correct button is pressed, I want the label color to change to black. If the label color is black I want the label color to change to blue. I'm building a web application where users might spend a lot of time typing into big text fields, but for security reasons I still want sessions to time out after a reasonably short period. I want to warn them if their session is about to expire so they can save or take some other action to keep it alive. Any tips? thanks!

  • AJAX in Rails - doing simple looping to update information when available

    I am trying to get put out a simple site, which would pool the database every few seconds and update the information on the page dynamicly, when theres something new inserted. I am farily new to ruby, but I understand the whole concept of RJS, link_to_function and soforth. The question is, what is the best way how to implement some kind of simple loop, which would run after the page is loaded and update the DOM if there is something new to display.     Can somebody point me at a good tutorial for py2exe? I've read over the official tutorial but it is rather light on details, compared to all the options one can use when building an executable out of a python script. For the record, my python script uses Python 2.5.2, wxPython/wxWidgets 2.8 and MySQLdb 1.2.2; so if you have specific tips for py2exe with those packages that would be much appreciated (and yes, I've seen the Py2EXE and wxPython page).

    If I allocate memory in one thread in C++ (either new or malloc) can I de-allocate it in another, or must both occur in the same thread? Ideally, I'd like to avoid this in the first place, but I'm curious to know is it legal, illegal or implementation dependent. Edit: The compilers I'm currently using include VS2003, VS2008 and Embedded C++ 4.0, targetting XP, Vista, Windows 7 and various flavours of Windows CE / PocketPC & Mobile. So basically all Microsoft but across an array of esoteric platforms.

    Hey, I have an (Ext JS) tab panel where the hidden tabs aren't loaded at all upon initial instantiation, (the only thing I set is the title). Upon 'activation' of a tab I want to call a method , which then instanstiates a new FormPanel/GridPanel and put this content into the tab.
