• Is my program taking too much time to execute?

  I wanted to solve a question from project euleur about finding the largest prime number of a big number. I run my code on a virtual machine on Visual studio 2012, and the code seems froze. When I step into the loop, the code works well, but when I execute it, the console is always there. It is as if the program is still running. Could it be that the program takes time to execute?   I've got a string of HTML that I need to grab the "[Title|http://www.test.com]" pattern out of e.g. "dafasdfasdf, adfasd. [Test|http://www.test.com/] adf ddasfasdf [SDAF|http://www.madee.com/] assg ad" I need to replace "[Title|http://www.test.com]" this with "Title". What is the best away to approach this? • Why does UIActionSheet cancel crahes my App?

  I try to use the UIActionSheet within my iPhone App but have the following problem. When I tap the cancel button "I don't", the app crashes. When I remove the NSLog statement from the actionSheet:clickedButtonAtIndex: it does not. The "Yes, do it" button works just fine and I see the log statement in the console. • How to make 2 executables communicate in both directions in Windows

  Hello. I have 2 Windows console applications, reading from standard input and writing to standard output. I'd like to assume I don't have the source code to any of them (actually I usually have the source code of one of them). I want to direct the standard output of one to the standard input of the other and vice versa, thus allowing communication (the goal is to allow two programs playing a certain game to play one against the other). How can this be done? I'm willing to do some C/C++ programming or anything else required. Oren.

  Hi, I was just wondering whether in C is it possible to peek in the input buffer or perform similar trickery to know whether a call to fgets would block at a later time. Java allows to do something like that by calling BufferedReader.ready(), this way I can implement console input something like this: while (on && in.ready()) { line = in.readLine(); /* do something with line */ if (!in.ready()) Thread.sleep(100); } this allows an external thread to gracefully shutdown the input loop by setting on to false; I'd like to perform a similar implementation in C without resorting to non portable tricks, I already know I can make a "timed out fgets" under unix by resorting to signals or (better, even though requering to take care of buffering) reimplement it on top of recv/select, but I'd prefer something that would work on windows too.   Hi! I have following problem - i`m running Java WS application. The server side (Axis2 WS Modules on Apache Tomcat) is running at Ubuntu server. The problem is when i get some information from client side in cyrilic and store in database it goes like "?????". If i add data in db directly(From Remote MYSQL Console - there is NO problem). Before move to ubuntu server side was at Windows XP and there was no problem? Sorry for bad explanation, but i have no idea where to start! Thanks in advance!

  I was surprised to learn that "ref" and "out" parameters are not marked by a special attribute, despite the existence of ParameterInfo.IsOut, ParameterInfo.IsIn (both of which are always false as far as I can see), ParameterAttributes.In and ParameterAttributes.Out. Instead, "ref" parameters are actually represented by a special kind of "Type" object and "out" parameters are just ref parameters with an additional attribute (what kind of attribute I don't yet know). Anyway, to make a by-ref argument you call Type.MakeByRefType(), but my question is, if you already have a by-ref type, how do you get back to the original Type?   Hi, I have a NSMutableArray that contains all the calendars on my system (as CalCalendar objects): NSMutableArray *calendars = [[CalCalendarStore defaultCalendarStore] calendars]; I want to remove from calendars any CalCalendar objects whose title does not include the string @"work". I've tried this: for (CalCalendar *cal in calendars) { // Look to see if this calendar's title contains "work". If not - remove it if ([[cal title] rangeOfString:@"work"].location == NSNotFound) { [calendars removeObject:cal]; } } The console is complaining that: *** Collection <NSCFArray: 0x11660ccb0> was mutated while being enumerated. I would like to fetch the Attribute.Name together with the query that fetches all attribute values, i.e. join ProductAttribute and Attribute. Is there any way to achieve this within my method?

  I have some Linux code that monitors our hardware by collecting temperatures, voltages, and fan speeds, from the motherboard using inb(), outb(), inl(), etc. low level i/o functions. My challenge is to port that code over to run under Windows as a simple console app. But am puzzled in what functions Win32 (or .NET) provide that allow me permission to access direct memory mapped ports. I don't want to code a system driver either. My Windows tool preference is VS2008. (fyi) Is this possible?

  I using the FileWatcher Class to locate changes on Files in a specific Folder. I managed to detect Changes on Files but not detailed Information. The test just won't start. And it will prompt me "A project with an Output Type of Class Library cannot be started directly. In order to debug this project, add an executable project to this solution which references the library project. Set an executable project as the startup project. Even though I attached the unit test class code to a console program, the test does not start and the test explorer is empty. In the video, it doesn't need to have any running program. The lady only created a class library, and the test will run. what should I do? Note. there is no "create unit test" on the mouse right click menu

• Can Spring access-denied-handler refer to popup?

  I am working with Spring Security 3.1.x and have implemented method annotation securities. As I want, when I perform a certain action while being logged in as a used that doesn't have the rights, I get a 403 acces is denied in my console! Perfect! Now I would like to catch this 403, and give the user a popup with a custom message. I don't want to redirect users to a page saying that they have no rights. Is there any way the access-denied-handler of Spring can take care of a popup? Or can it only redirect to another page? Maybe there are other options for me? Thanks in advance!

• jquery ajax call errors in chrome onenter with no responseText

  I've built a login page that uses a .ajax call to a generic c# handler (.ashx) to validate the username and password before allowing the user to log in. If you click on the login link <a href="#" class="ui-state-default ui-corner-all CustomButton" onclick="goLogin();return false"> the .ajax call returns successfully and it logs the user in. I am trying to make it so the user can also just press the "enter" key from the password box: $("#pword").keydown(function(e) { if (e.keyCode == 13) { goLogin(); } }); Using Firefox, both ways work just fine and the user is logged in. With Chrome however, pressing "enter" hits the error function of my .ajax call and will not log the user in. The parameters and responses look identical through Firefox's console, as expected. What would be causing this and/or how can I debug it in Chrome?

  I am creating a component that uses a collection and collection items of panels. I can't seem to get the colors to work at runtime, but yet they seem to work just fine at design time. When the components EditMode property is set to true, you can move the panels around at runtime. Question: Why does the colors only work at designtime and not runtime. thanks

  I am looking into a TSQL command called "xp_cmdshell" to use to monitor a change to a the SLK (SharePoint Learning Kit) database and then execute a batch or PowerShell script that will trigger some events that I need. (It is bad practice to modify SharePoint's database directly, so I will be using its API) I have been reading on various blogs and MSDN that there are some security concerns with this approach. The sites suggest that you limit security so the command can be executed by only a specific user role. What other tips/suggestions would you recommend with using "xp_cmdshell"? Or should I go about this another way and create a script or console application that constantly checks if a change has been made? I am running Server 2008 with SQL 2008.

  Hi I have a C++ console Exe which does some progamming. Now i wanted to write a C# GUI which does some of the programming that the C++ exe does. I was thinking of few approaches, Write the C# GUI with all programming in C++ done from scratch.(I do not want to do this for the amount of rework it entails) Build a C++ dll which does the programming and have it imported in GUI app.(Now here i have a concern. How do i capture the output of the routines in c++ dll and display it in GUI? Should i return the output as string for every routine that the app calls.? Since i dont know managed c++ iam going to build an unmanaged C++ dll. )
