• How to remove a Facebook App from Facebook's search results?

  I have a Facebook app so users can login to my website using their Facebook account, but when you type my website name into Facebook's search (the search box right next to the Facebook logo) the app shows up in the search results. When I click it, it says "Misconfigured App - Sorry, the details for AppName cannot be displayed because the app is misconfigured." I want to remove my app from Facebook's search results, because it's not meant for users, but I can't figure out how to do it. Any ideas?

  A picture is worth a thousand words... so does anyone know how to fix this font blurriness in Firefox? (You'll need to right-click the picture below go to View Image to view it full-size; it's too small to see anything here.) Note: My other applications (and the Firefox non-client area, as you can see in the screen) are completely fine, so obviously going to System-Appearance and changing the font settings isn't fixing the situation.

• Firefox application associations not working

  No matter what changes i make to file associations (actions) in the 'Applications' tab in firefox, they're totally ignored. For example, i set .wmv and .avi files to open with 'smplayer' but when i download a file and double-click on it (through the 'Downloads' window), it keeps opening with Totem player. I've tried to delete and recreate mimetypes.rdf but that didn't help. Any ideas on what else should i check?

• Saucy upgrade causes problem in Eclipse

  Does anybody has been through this: Using Ubuntu 13.10 (with JDK 1.7.0_45). Download and uncompress Eclipse Kepler for Java EE Developers. The software menus are messed up. Other softwares i didn't notice similar problem. When i click any menu of eclipse, the drop-down seems to be "cutted". Somethimes the drop-down shows, but the options are invisible. I try Eclipse Indigo, the same problem occurs.

• Convert Chrome Bookmark Toolbar Folders to Icons

  So you have your regular bookmarks reduced to icons but what about the folders? With our little hack and a few minutes of your time you can turn those folders into icons too. Condensing the Folders Reducing bookmark folders to icons is a little more tricky than regular bookmarks but not hard to do. Right click on the folder and select “Rename…”. The folder’s name should already be highlighted/selected as shown here. Delete the text…notice that the “OK Button” has become unusable for the moment. Now what you will need to do is: Hold down the “Alt Key” Type in “0160” (without the quotes) using the numbers keypad on the right side of your keyboard Release the “Alt Key” after you have finished typing in the number above Once you have released the “Alt Key” you will notice two things…the “cursor” has moved further into the text area and you can now click on the “OK Button” again. There is our folder after editing. And it works just as well as before but without taking up so much room. Here is how our “iconized” folder looks next to our bookmarks. Perfect! What if you want to reduce multiple folders to icons? Perform the same exact steps shown above for each folder and pack your “Bookmarks Toolbar” full of folder goodness! As seen here the folders will have a little more space between them in comparison with singular bookmarks due to the “blank name” for each folder. For those who may be curious this is what your bookmarks will look like in the “Bookmark Manager Page”. Note: If you export your bookmarks all bookmarks contained in multiple blank name folders will be combined into a single folder. Conclusion With just a little bit of work you can pack a lot of goodness into your “Bookmarks Toolbar”. • SQL SERVER – Working with FileTables in SQL Server 2012 – Part 2 – Methods to Insert Data Into Table

  Read Part 1 Working with FileTables in SQL Server 2012 – Part 1 – Setting Up Environment In this second part of the series, we will see how we can insert the files into the FileTables. There are two methods to insert the data into FileTables: Method 1: Copy Paste data into the FileTables folder First, find the folder where FileTable will be storing the files. Go to Databases >> Newly Created Database (FileTableDB) >> Expand Tables. Here you will see a new folder which says “FileTables”. When expanded, it gives the name of the newly created “FileTableTb”. Right click on the newly created table, and click on “Explore FileTable Directory”. This will open up the folder where the FileTable data will be stored. When clicked on the option it will open up following folder in my local machine where the FileTable data will be stored. \\127.0.0.1\mssqlserver\FileTableDB\FileTableTb_Dir You can just copy your document just there. I copied few word document there and ran select statement to see the result. USE [FileTableDB] GO SELECT * FROM FileTableTb GO SELECT * returns all the rows. Here is SELECT statement which has only few columns selected from FileTable. SELECT [name] ,[file_type] ,CAST([file_stream] AS VARCHAR) FileContent ,[cached_file_size] ,[creation_time] ,[last_write_time] ,[last_access_time] FROM [dbo].[FileTableTb] GO I believe this is the simplest method to populate FileTable, because you just have to move the files to the specific table. Method 2: T-SQL Insert Statement There are always cases when you might want to programmatically insert the images into SQL Server File table. Here is a quick method which you can use to insert the data in the file table. I have inserted a very small text file using T-SQL, and later on, reading that using SELECT statement demonstrated in method 1 above. INSERT INTO [dbo].[FileTableTb] ([name],[file_stream]) SELECT 'NewFile.txt', * FROM OPENROWSET(BULK N'd:\NewFile.txt', SINGLE_BLOB) AS FileData GO The above T-SQL statement will copy the NewFile.txt to new location. When you run SELECT statement, it will retrieve the file and list in the resultset. Additionally, it returns the content in the SELECT statement as well. I think it is a pretty interesting way to insert the data into the FileTable. SELECT [name] ,[file_type] ,CAST([file_stream] AS VARCHAR) FileContent ,[cached_file_size] ,[creation_time] ,[last_write_time] ,[last_access_time] FROM [dbo].[FileTableTb] GO There are more to FileTable and we will see those in my future blog posts. • Attach to Process in Visual Studio

  One option for achieving step 1 in the Live Debugging process is attaching to an already running instance of the process that hosts your code, and this is a good place for me to talk about debug engines. You can attach to a process by selecting the "Debug" menu and then the "Attach To Process…" menu in Visual Studio 11 (Ctrl+Alt+P with my keyboard bindings), and you should see something like this screenshot: I am not going to explain this UI, besides being fairly intuitive, there is good documentation on MSDN for the Attach dialog. I do want to focus on the row of controls that starts with the "Attach to:" label and ends with the "Select..." button. Between them is the readonly textbox that indicates the debug engine that will be used for the selected process if you click the "Attach" button. If you haven't encountered that term before, read on MSDN about debug engines. Notice that the "Type" column shows the Code Type(s) that can be detected for the process. Typically each debug engine knows how to debug a specific code type (the two terms tend to be used interchangeably). If you click on a different process in the list with a different code type, the debug engine used will be different. However note that this is the automatic behavior. If you believe you know best, or more typically you want to choose the debug engine for a process using more than one code type, you can do so by clicking the "Select..." button, which should yield a "Select Code Type" dialog like this one: In this dialog you can switch to the debug engine you want to use by checking the box in front of your desired one, then hit "OK", then hit "Attach" to use it. Notice that the dialog suggests that you can select more than one. Not all combinations work (you'll get an error if you select two incompatible debug engines), but some do. Also notice in the list of debug engines one of the new players in Visual Studio 11, the GPU debug engine - I will be covering that on the C++ AMP team blog (and no, it cannot be combined with any others in this release). • Why can't I configure my touchpad?

  I want to disable my touchpad's "tap to click" feature. Searching for this on the internet comes up with suggestions to shut it off in the "Mouse" preferences, however I am missing the touchpad tab that people keep talking about: The closest official documentation I've been able to find is here. The touchpad also doesn't show up in gpointing-device-settings. Unchecking tap_to_click in the /desktop/gnome/peripherals/touchpad/ gconf key doesn't seem to do anything.

• Can't install any ubuntu on HP Pavillion DV6-6B01AX 15.6 HD/AMD QC A6

  I have tried over 50 times all different ways to install Ubuntu on (HP Pavillion DV6-6B01AX 15.6 HD/AMD QC A6) from v9 to 12.04 but no success. Every time after booting from the DVD or CD and when asked to install along with Windows 7, I click the Next button but then it goes to shut down, says remove media and press any key. I don't want install it over Windows 7, I want to keep Windows 7. Any help?

  I got to answer a simple question over community forums. Consider this: Suppose you are developing a webpage with few input controls and a submit button. You have placed some server validator controls like RequiredFieldValidator to validate the inputs entered by the user. Once user fill-in all the details and try to submit the page via button click you want to alert/confirm the submission like "Are you sure to modify above details?". You will consider to use javascript on click of the button.Everything seems simple and you are almost done. BUT, when you run the page; you will see that Javascript alert/confirm box is executing first before server validators try to validate the input controls! Well, this is expected behaviour. BUT, this is not you want. Then? The simple answer is: Call Page_ClientValidate() in javascript where you are alerting the submission. Below is the javascript example:    <script type="text/javascript" language="javascript">        function ValidateAllValidationGroups() {            if (Page_ClientValidate()) {                return confirm("Are you sure to modify above details?");            }        }    </script>Page_ClientValidate() function tests for all server validators and return bool value depends on whether the page meets defined validation criteria or not. In above example, confirm alert will only popup up if Page_ClientValidate() returns true (if all validations satisfy). You can also specify ValidationGroup inside this function as Page_ClientValidate('ValidationGroup1') to only validate a specific group of validation in your page.        function ValidateSpecificValidationGroup() {            if (Page_ClientValidate('ValidationGroup1')) {                return confirm("Are you sure to modify above details?");            }        }I have attached a sample example with this post here demonstrating both above cases.
