  Hi all, I having trouble with passing http get parameters to jsf 2.0 backing bean. User will invoke URl with some params containing id of some entity, which is later used to persist some other entity in db. whole process can be summarized by fallowing: 1. user open page http://www.somhost.com/JsfApp/step-one.xhtml?sid=1 2. user fills some data and goes to next page 3. user fills some more data and then entity is saved to db with sid param from step one. I have session scoped backing bean that hold data from all the pages (steps), but I cant pass param to bean property.. any ideas?

  We have been using Perl's Net:Twitter CPAN module (version 3.12) and basic authentication (not OAuth) for almost a year now to syndicate updates from our site to our Twitter account. We just migrated to a new server last week and since the move our updates to Twitter have stopped and the following error is being reported whenever we try to post an update: HTTP::Message content not bytes at /usr/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.8.8/HTTP/Request/Common.pm line 90 Here is the code we're using the update our Twitter account: use Net::Twitter; my $twitter = Net::Twitter->new( traits => [qw/API::REST/], username => $username, password => $password, source => 'twitterfeed' ); my $result = $twitter->update($status); I have no idea what the issue is and was hoping that someone else has run into this issue and can provide a quick solution. • Casting objects in C# (ASP.Net MVC)

  I'm coming from a background in ColdFusion, and finally moving onto something modern, so please bear with me. I'm running into a problem casting objects. I have two database tables that I'm using as Models - Residential and Commercial. Both of them share the majority of their fields, though each has a few unique fields. I've created another class as a container that contains the sum of all property fields. Query the Residential and Commercial, stuff it into my container, cunningly called Property. This works fine. However, I'm having problems aliasing the fields from Residential/Commercial onto Property. It's quite easy to create a method for each property: fillPropertyByResidential(Residential source) and fillPropertyByCommercial(Commercial source), and alias the variables. That also works fine, but quite obviously will copy a bunch of code - all those fields that are shared between the two main Models. So, I'd like a generic fillPropertyBySource() that takes the object, and detects if it's Residential or Commercial, fills the particular fields of each respective type, then do all the fields in common. Except, I gather in C# that variables created inside an If are only in the scope of the if, so I'm not sure how to do this. public property fillPropertyBySource(object source) { property prop = new property(); if (source is Residential) { Residential o = (Residential)source; //Fill Residential only fields } else if (source is Commercial) { Commercial o = (Commercial)source; //Fill Commercial only fields } //Fill fields shared by both prop.price = (int)o.price; prop.bathrooms = (float)o.bathrooms; return prop; } "o" being a Commercial or Residential only exists within the scope of the if.   Hello Again, I posted a question on here and got an answer within minutes I'm hoping the wizards on here can help me again. Okay so I'm using a script I found online to try and add this function to a shopping cart form. Here's the setup. I have a payment method dropdown with Visa, Mastercard and Bank Withdrawal as the options. For the credit cards I have one hidden div with a certain set of fields, and for the bank I have another hidden div.   Hi, I'm having a bit of trouble exporting a csv file that is created from one of my mysql tables using php. The code I'm using prints the correct data, but I can't see how to download this data in a csv file, providing a download link to the created file. • how to throttle http requests on a linux machine?

  EDIT: here is the summery: i need to reduce max connections preferably system wide on Ubuntu 11.04 but at least within Google Chrome. i do not need or want to throttle bandwidth, Verizon seems to only care about the number of connections so that is all i want to change. also, i don't want to use firefox unless i have to, i have three other machines all using chrome and synced and i just prefer it over firefox. i use tethering for my home internet connection via my verizon cell phone. without paying for it. this works just fine for streaming netflix via my nintendo wii and pretty much every other conceivable use ive had for it. except, during heavy usage with multiple tabs open on my laptop, the network connection on my phone will just turn off, then on again, then off, but it never fully connects. i think, based on this and other questions that this is caused by verizon getting too many http requests from my phone. is there some software, script, setting or otherwise that would allow me to throttle my requests to say, 5 or 10 or whatever it turns out is 1 less than verizon is looking for, so that my cell's network connection is not lost? i would far prefer a slow down rather than complete shut off of my internet connection. i am almost certain is from quantity of requests and not related to data, because, as i mentioned, netflix will run all day without a hitch, and that uses more data than anything else i would be doing. if i had a router i am pretty sure there are settings i could easily change to only allow so many requests at a time ... but in this case, my phone is my router, so no settings. im using ubuntu 11.04 on my netbook with an htc incredible on verizon (not that the phone details are relevant) i have been trying to figure this out for quite some time, currently the only fix is ensure that all requests are stopped and then sometimes it works again, other times i have to manually turn my 3g service off and then back on. thank you so much for any assistance!

Web server: Nginx listening on port 8080 Reverse proxy: Varnish listening on port 80 The problem is that Varnish redirects my requests to port 8080 and this appears in the address bar like so http://mysite.com:8080/directory/, causing relative links on the site to include the port number (8080) in the request and thus bypassing Varnish. Looking more closely it seems like it's rendering select fields with height=0. • Rewriting Apache URLs to use only paths and set response headers

  I have apache httpd in front of an application running in Tomcat. The application exposes URLs of the form: /path/to/images?id={an-image-id} The entities returned by such URLs are images (even though URIs are opaque, I find human-friendly ones are easier to work with!). The application does not set caching directives on the image response, so I've added that via Apache. # LocationMatch to set caching directives on image responses <LocationMatch "^/path/to/images$"> # Can't have Set-Cookie on response, otherwise the downstream caching proxy # won't cache! Header unset Set-Cookie # Mark the response as cacheable. Header append Cache-Control "max-age=8640000" </LocationMatch> Note that I can't use ExpiresByType since not all images served by the app have versioned URIs. I know that ones served by the /path/to/images resource handler are versioned URIs though, which don't perform any sort of content negotiation, and thus are ripe for Far Future Expires management. This is working well for us. Now a requirement has come up to put something else in front of the app (in this case, Amazon CloudFront) to further distribute and cache some of the content. Amazon CloudFront will not pass query string parameters through to my origin server. I thought I would be able to work around this, by changing my apache config appropriately: # Rewrite to map new Amazon CloudFront friendly URIs to the application resources RewriteRule ^/new/path/to/images/([0-9]+) /path/to/images?id=$1 [PT] # LocationMatch to set caching directives on image responses <LocationMatch "^/path/to/images$"> # Can't have Set-Cookie on response, otherwise the downstream caching proxy # won't cache! • Apache URL rewriting in reverse proxy

  I'm deploying Apache in front of a Karaf-hosted application (Apache and Karaf are on separate servers). I want Apache to operate as a reverse proxy and also to hide part of the URL. The URL to get the log-in page of the application directly from the app server is http://app-server:8181/jellyfish. Pages are served by the Jetty instance running within Karaf. Of course, this behaviour would usually be blocked by the firewall for everything except the reverse proxy server. With the firewall off, if you hit this URL then Jetty loads the log-in page. The browser's address bar correctly changes to http://app-server:8181/jellyfish/login?0 and everything works. What I want is for http://web-server (i.e. from the root) to map to Jetty on the app server with the name of the app (jellyfish) suppressed. e.g. The browser would change to show http://web-server/login?0 in the address bar and all subsequent URLs and content would be served with the web-server's domain and without the jellyfish clutter. I can get Apache to operate as a simple reverse proxy, using the following config (snippet):- ProxyPass /jellyfish http://app-server:8181/jellyfish ProxyPassReverse / http://app-server:8181/ ...but this requires the browser's URL to contain jellyfish and going to the root URL (http://web-server) gives a 404 Not Found. I've spent a lot of time trying to use mod_rewrite with and without its [P] flag to get around this, but without success. I then tried the ProxyPassMatch directive, but I can't seem to get that quite correct either. Here's the current config, as is loaded into /etc/apache2/sites-available/ on the web server. Note that there is a locally-hosted images directory. HTTP ERROR 404 Problem accessing /jellyfish/jellyfish/login. Reason: Not Found So, I'm guessing I'm somehow passing through the rules twice. I am also slightly bemused as to where the home bit of the URL comes from in the first example. Can someone point me in the right direction, please? Thanks, J.
