• Jquery Slider PNG black borders IE8

  Greetings, I'm having a lot of trouble with the IE8 buy of getting black borders when using a JQUERY slider, with PNG transparent images. Using a slightly modified version of the Nivio slider. I have searched high and low for fixes and blocks of code but so far none have worked. What happens is that as soon as the img cycles it gets the black border and looks like shit (only in IE8). Does anyone know a working fix for this? Or do we just have to ban IE from all computers?

  I realized that I can specify $(document).ready(function(){}); more than once. Suppose like this $(document).ready(function(){ var abc = "1122"; //do something.. }); $(document).ready(function(){ var abc = "def"; //do something.. }); Is this standard ? Those codes work on my FF (16.0.2). I just a little afraid that other browser may not. What actually happen ? How jQuery handle those code ? Thanks.

Right now if I have a jquery click element on the li it gets fired when you hit the button to. Is there a way to make this separate without changing the html structure?

• jQuery Supersized Plugin callback when slideshow finishd

  I am using the Supersized jQuery plugin which makes images fullscreen and also implements a slideshow. Currently, this plugin does not have a callback for when the slideshow is finished, rather, it just continually repeats. Is there a way that I could trigger a function after the last slide is shown? Currently, I have it working to trigger a function when the last slide STARTS to be shown, as I have a setInterval which checks for the "last" class on the slideshow images. But, this runs the function when that last slide starts, not when it is finished. Does anyone have ideas on how I could accomplish this?

  How does php access a variable passed by JQuery? I have the following code: $.post("getLatLong.php", { latitude: 500000}, function(data){ alert("Data Loaded: " + data); }); but I don't understand how to access this value using php. I've tried $userLat=$_GET["latitude"]; and $userLat=$_GET[latitude]; and then I try to print out the value (to check that it worked) using: echo $userLat; but it does not return anything. I can't figure out how to access what is being passed to it.

• Is it possible to set different select2 parameters at different times?

  From playing around I can see that this code $("#Selected3").select2({ minimumInputLength: 3 }); $("#Selected3").select2({ placeholder: "Show a placeholder" }); will show me the placeholder but remove the minimumInputLength parameters value. Does anyone know a way please that this example could be modified so that the placeholder will be added without losing the minimum..Length value. Any answers will need to allow for the possibility of the statements being in separate files, i.e. one on the page and another in a referenced .js file. I am aware that this would be much easier if I set all the parameters at once, e.g. $("#Selected3").select2({ minimumInputLength: 3, placeholder: "Show a placeholder" }); but I am working within a framework which won't currently allow that.   I am using replaceWith for input type=file to handle changes of the file the user wants to upload. I have managed to get a centeral message "Please Recheck the form", and to have the input focus on the first error. To get this, I had to override the default message of each of the errors.   I'm wondering if anyone knows of a script/plugin, jquery-based or otherwise, which could be used to achive the effect that can be found on CNN.com. I'm talking about the videos that are representet by a small thumbnail, that when clicked expands in to the text and plays. I'm by no means a JS-guru, and me and flash isn't the bestest of friends, but I'm not completly cluess.   I need to replace some text that is on the page within the body tag. I am using javascript but have jquery available if needed. I basically need to replace test® (test with the registered trademark) with TEST® or tests® with TESTS® and it could even be test with TEST® or tests with TESTS®. I am able to uppercase them but its not liking to work for me with the ® sign, it wants to put duplicates on ones that already have it. Basically anything on the page that has the word test or tests should be TEST® or TESTS® if it is plural. Any help is appreciated.
