  • django url from another template than the one associated with the view-function

    Heyy there, i have an application, and in my urls.py i have something like that: urlpatterns = patterns('', url(r'^profile_view/(?P<id>\d+)/$', profile_view, name='profile_view'),) meaning that the profile_view function has id as a parameter. Now, i want to call that function from another template than the one associated with the def-view that has this url. How should i do that? i have to put two render_to_response to one same function, in order to render the objects from both models? thank you!

When the user enters any of the following urls, I want to just serve my app as usual to them: http://www.mysite.com/ http://www.mysite.com/dog http://www.mysite.com/cat the first case works by default. I'm not sure how to get the /dog and /cat cases to work. I think I have to modify something with the url mappings to get that to work in web.xml.     Have to use free WPF DataGrid (I thought Infragistics libraries are bad, I take it back after this) for this project of mine. Looks like DataGrid doesnt have clean MVVM Friendly way of getting the list of selectedRows ? I can data bind to SelectedItem="{Binding SelectedSourceFile}" but this only shows the 1st selected row. Need to be able to get all selected rows. Any hints to do it cleanly via MVVM ?

When I put more than 2 items in the download queue my device is unusable. It nearly freezes. Huge lags and so on. Any idea?     hi there! i updated the code from my website to a 'better' veersion i think, it works fine but when i try to implement the friendly URL and load it, works, but with no CSS, Javascript or images, but if i corret the routes for the css to http://website/css/style.css (instead of ./css/style.css) it i do see the CSS properly loaded, any idea why? Example: http://keepyourlinks.com/link1.php?id=25 VS http://keepyourlinks.com/keep/25/series-yonkis (i updated the route of the CSS, but the Javascript is missing an the images asweell) I really would like not to have to correct al routes :(

    I want to use file_get_contents to implement a proxy so I can do ajax cross domain requests. Querystring will be used to supply the URL to file_get_contents. Now the problem is people can muck around with the qurystring in order to read local files on the server. I dont wnat this. Can someone get me a function to sinitize the querystring in order only to accept urls and not local files: ie: ?url=http://google.com.au - OK ?url=./passwords.txt - Not OK
