I've heard about the possibility to use attached properties to avoid writing a custom control in WPF.
Could you explain me how or address me to a tutorial?
Thank you
Hi, I'm writing a program to solve a geometry problem.
My algorithm doesn't treat collinear point very well.
Is there any transformation I can apply to the points to get rid of the collinearity?
I want to set the TTL for the keys while creating the connection. Right now I am setting it while writing to the cache. Is there a configuration parameter for this?
Hi, I am writing a function like this.
func :: IO()
func = putStr print "func = putStr print"
I know it is incorrect but the idea is I want the putStr applied to the string then print applied to the same string "fun = .." so that the output would be:
func = putStr print "func = putStr print"
which is the same as my function definition. Thanks
I have web application on the Tomcat with webservices. I've noticed that all web services connected to https get timeout. I run this app on my localhost in my company.
When I redirect all my connections through Fiddler (local proxy) everything works correctly. I don't want to execute fiddler all the time.
my computer -> [FIDDLER local proxy] -> [remote proxy] // WORKS
my computer -> [remote proxy] // timeout
How to increase tomcat logging to get more technical logs than only "timeout". Is there any other way to get more information what blocks the https URL?
I'm working in GraphEdit to capture video from a Pinnacle PCTV card, in preparation for writing a program that will do the same, among other things.
What, precisely, is the meaning of the tune request parameters? How do I find the appropriate values to use, and is there a way to do so automatically? (ie, not to have to manually change params in the final program when trying to watch DVB in different countries.)
I'm writing a game for iPhone, and I want an online leaderboard using mySQL, which i'm very familiar with.
How do I implement this in my app?
I would assume there's a framework/library i need to obtain?
When an install completes successfully, the date and time and some other info needs to be written to the registry. How can a date be generated and how do you know if an install was completed successfully? (writing to the registry with wix is not a problem).
I'm writing an essay about ORM and SubSonic and I'm looking for some details regarding the project history (initial release, milestones, etc).
Anyone knows where I can find it? anyonce can give me a quick briefing?
Thanks
Hello,
I have a WCF service that is responsible for writing a log file. I would like to write a log file relative to the location of my WCF service. This service does NOT have an HttpContext available. Because of this, I cannot use HttpContext.Current.Server.MapPath.
How can I get the location of where my WCF service is running so that I can create a log file?
Thank you
I am trying to get into the habit of writing a unit test before the actual class. What are some pointers the stack overflow community can give me along with any useful resources.
Thank You
Assume your friend from over 100km away asked you to add a network printer to his computer since you're so tech savvy.
How would you add network printer remotely in this case?
You would need:
0. Remote connection to your friend's computer
1. Printer IP and brand/model names
2. Respective drivers downloaded either from manufacturer's website or Windows Update driver
Question is, how would you find out the IP address of the printer without bothering your friend too much with technical steps? Since your friend isn't as tech savvy as you - they wouldn't know which buttons to press to get IP address.

I have a function that has been inadvertently over-writing my function parameters when I pass a dictionary. Is there a clean way to declare my parameters as constant or am I stuck making a copy of the dictionary within the function?
Thanks!
I'm writing a script to parse some text files, and insert the data that they contain into a mysql database. I don't have root access on the server that this script will run on. I've been looking at mysql-python, but it requires a bunch of dependencies that I don't have available. Is there a simpler way to do this?
We have gotten WSO2 governance registry to send e-mails successfully. Now we want to template the emails that are being sent out.
There is a sample at : http://docs.wso2.org/wiki/display/Governance450/Notification+E-mail+Customization+Sample
This allows you to alter the text coming through the event but is there an easier way that writing Java code? We cannot compile the sample anyway as the Maven compiler keeps looking up the references files and errors with checksum validation failed.
Thanks
Hello all, complete newbie here,
I need to find a way to store 250 KB of plain text numbers inside my program's executable file.
Usually, I would put the data in a separate file and let the program read it while it is running, but that's not an option here. Instead, the program and the data need to be in one executable file.
I have absolutely no idea how to do it (except writing 250.000 #defines :-) and I'd appreciate any suggestions.
Thank you very much!

I'm considering writing a console application in C# and I want to incorporate history, completion and command line editing features something like GNU readline (but not necessarily as extensive as that!)
Is there an existing library for .net which provides this type of functionality? I guess one option would be to use interop services to call GNU readline. But is there a native option?
Is there any way to simulate the absence of a gem for certain unit tests, short of actually uninstalling and then reinstalling the gem during testing?
I am writing a command line utility, and want to make sure that my tests cover cases where a user may not have all of the gems that I support. For instance, I am using fsevents — a Leopard-specific package for monitoring filesystem events — that will never be present on other systems, as well as a growl gem that's purely optional.
We need to write a script that needs to process movies (using C-based ffmpeg) and also update our databases. Also there would be some thread programming to accomplish with a worker-manager design. I am thinking of writing this in Ruby is there any good language to do this, if so what is its primary advantage for choosing?
We are based on the Mac platform.
Thanks in advance.
Im writing a php script to compare the similarity of 2 strings. This works pretty good at the moment, but what I would like to do is match words when one is a synonym of the first.
Any thoughts?
