  • How do I change the curosr during a jQuery synchronous browser blocking POST?

    - by Tommy
$.ajax({ url: "/cgi-bin/stats.exe", method: "post", async: false, data: { refresh: "a41" } }); Using ajax post synchronously - "async: false". While it blocks the browser during the active request, what is the most efficient way to change the cursor to the hourglass or display a wait .gif? Perhaps set the cursor as it enters this function then change it back in the success or complete function? Any advice is appreciated. Thank You.

  • how not to allow muliple keystokes received at one key press?

    - by Untopronor
when we press a key and keep pressing it the keypress and keydown event continuously fires. Is there a way to let these fire only after a complete cycle ,eg keydown and then key up. I would like the user not to be able press the key continuously rather would like the user have to press then release the key board to type a character ! so that following case do not occur eg : pppppppppppppppppppppppp when user presses 'p' for 1 sec.

  • JQuery Animate.

    - by Oliver
Hi Really easy, I'm sure... I have a div which is the full screen and I want it to slide down from the top to the bottom. I have this: $('#full-screen').animate({ "bottom":0, height: 'toggle' }, 1000, function() { // Animation complete. }); But this is the wrong way round as the bottom moves up; how do I get the bottom to stay where is is and the top to slide down to meet it? Thanks

  • How do LL(*) parsers work?

    - by freezer878
I cannot find any complete description about LL(*) parser, such as ANTLR, on Internet. I'm wondering what is the difference between an LL(k) parser and an LL(*) one and why they can't support left-recusrive grammars despite their flexibility.

  • jQuery scroll fails for iframe (firefox)

    - by knappy
I cannot get scroll to work, here is the complete stuff: http://zed.mit.edu/scroll2/buc.php I'm trying to refresh the page while maintaining the scroll position of the iframe inside. I'd like to have an alert when I actively scroll the iframe, these two both fail: $(top).frames['#iframe_bucinid'].scroll(function() .... $('#iframe_bucinid').scroll(function() ... The page's iframe is defined as: <iframe class="inframe" src="bucin.php" name="bucin" id="iframe_bucinid"> Notice that getting the scrollTop works with top.frames['bucin'].document.body.scrollTop

  • Registry key editing vb6 startup

    - by Francesco D.
Is it possible that someone here could explain how to use this code. Please keep in mind i am a complete amateur, so simplifications may be needed. Private Const cPGM = "C:\VB Forum\startup\Example.exe" Dim oShell As IWshShell_Class Set oShell = New IWshShell_Class oShell.RegWrite "HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run\MyVBApp", _ cPGM, "REG_SZ" How exactly is this code used? Is it saved as an .exe file and ran or what? Thanks for your prompt reply and informational feedback.

  • mathing string in python

    - by nani
Write two functions, called countSubStringMatch and countSubStringMatchRecursive that take two arguments, a key string and a target string. These functions iteratively and recursively count the number of instances of the key in the target string. You should complete definitions forthe remaining problems, we are going to explore other substring matching ideas. These problems can be solved with either an iterative function or a recursive one. You are welcome to use either approach, though you may find iterative approaches more intuitive in these cases of matching linear structures

  • Automatic profiling visual studio 2008

    - by phil
Is there a way to do automatic profiling in visual studio 2008? I know how the profiling works both from the command line and using the GUI in VS08. What I want to accomplish: After my nightly build I want to complete some profiling (instrumental) to see if some functions (will most likely always be the same) have changed in some negative way (or positive of course).

  • jQuery: Circulate plugin: stopping midway in animation

    - by kelly
Has anyone had any luck in altering the plug-in code so that one might animate an object in "3d" space for only a 1/4 or 1/2 turn? As it stands, an object must complete a full circle before stopping or looping. And for those who haven't seen it yet: http://css-tricks.com/examples/Circulate/

  • How to manually build mysql cache

    - by hamstar
I have a table of over 150,000 rows of which most would be updated daily. I have mysql caching turned on so the pages load faster however everytime the database is updated the pages load slow again, which I assume is the cache building itself again. So at the moment I have resorted to doing a wget -m --delete-after http://localhost/ on the server however this takes about 4 hours to complete and moves something like 13 gig. Is there a better way to do this?
