  • finding an adjacent node in xml through xpath

    - by kolosy
i have a deeply nested structure (actually parsing out xhtml, so lots of nasty), like so: <tr> <td> <font id="blah"> stuff </font> </td> </tr> <tr> <td> more stuff </td> </tr> and this repeats in a long table. i need an xpath expression that will select the second font tag (or rather it's text()). i was looking at the preceding-sibling axis, but something isn't quite working right. something along the lines of (and pardon me if this is ridiculous, my xpath is rusty) //tr[preceding-sibling::tr/td/font/b]/td/text()

  • What's the fastest way to strip and replace a document of high unicode characters using Python?

    - by Rhubarb
I am looking to replace from a large document all high unicode characters, such as accented Es, left and right quotes, etc., with "normal" counterparts in the low range, such as a regular 'E', and straight quotes. I need to perform this on a very large document rather often. I see an example of this in what I think might be perl here: http://www.designmeme.com/mtplugins/lowdown.txt Is there a fast way of doing this in Python without using s.replace(...).replace(...).replace(...)...? I've tried this on just a few characters to replace and the document stripping became really slow.

  • Convert inline image tags like [image:123:title:size] into HTML img tags

    - by Jacques Joubert
    I am looking for help with regular expression $pattern to convert inline image tags like [image:123:title:size] into HTML img tags. here is the code: //[image:ID:caption:size] $content = '[image:38:title:800x900]'; preg_match_all( '/\[image:(\d+)(:?)([^\]]*)\]/i', $content, $images ); if( !empty( $images[0] ) ) { // There are image inline tags in the content foreach( $images[0] as $i => $tag ) { $link_ID = (int)$images[1][$i]; $caption = empty( $images[2][$i] ) ? '#' : $images[3][$i]; $size = empty( $images[4][$i] ) ? '#' : $images[4][$i]; } echo '<br />'; echo 'ID: '.$link_ID.'<br />'; echo 'Tag: '.$caption.'<br />'; echo 'size: '.$size.'<br />'; } which outputs: ID: 12 Tag: caption:size size: # Any help would be great!

  • Are there .NET Framework methods to parse an email (MIME)?

    - by Neil C. Obremski
Is there a class or set of functions built into the .NET Framework (3.5+) to parse raw emails (MIME documents)? I am not looking for anything fancy or a separate library, it needs to be built-in. I'm going to be using this in some unit tests and need only grab the main headers of interest (To, From, Subject) along with the body (which in this case will always be text and therefore no MIME trees or boundaries). I've written several MIME parsers in the past and if there isn't anything readily available, I'll just put together something from regular expressions. It would be great to be able to do something like: MailMessage msg = MailMessage.Parse(text); Thoughts?

  • Handling user security scope with nHibernate or other ORM

    - by Schotime
How should one handle the situation where you may need to filter by a group of users. Here is the scenario. I have an administrator role in my company. I should be able to see all the data belonging to me plus all the other users who I have control over. A plain old user however should only be able to access their own data. If you are writing regular sql statements then you can have a security table with every user and who they have access too but i'm not sure how to handle this situation in the OO and ORM world. Any one dealt with this scenario in a web application using an ORM? Would love to hear your thoughts!

  • How can I search for an email using the zend framework?

    - by Ali
Hi guys I need to build a functionality that involves searching through emails in an inbox for emails whose subjects match a certain user inputted keyword. SInce I'm using the zend framework I would like a solution that uses the zend framework libraries. Aside this I have noticed that the zend libraries are a bit limited with respect to my requirements for email handling. Is there any open library available in php which can be used for handling emails - when I mean handling emails I mean like: Ease to mark and flag emails Moving of emails from folder to folder. Parsing emails searching through emails SOrting emails etc - the stuff you would require if you wished to build a web client. EDIT ========= I'm looking for a generic solution here. The emails are in a regular email inbox on an IMAP server. I need a way to be able to read through and search for emails in the inbox using any specialized library to make it easier.

  • How to extract data from a text file

    - by šljaker
    I need to parse some large text file and extract Display name and area code only if it matches the following pattern: Line starts with display name (any number of words) Followed by 6 digits (can contain spaces) Followed by #text tag e.g. John doe 123 456 #text some text Display name: John doe Area code: 123 456 Test 123456 #text Display name: Test Area code: 123456 Test 123 #test Invalid, area code contains only 3 digits Test 123456 #test1 Invalid, contains invalid tag Test 123g45 #test Invalid, area code contains letters etc. I know how to open the text file and read it line by line, but having trouble with writing the regular expression. Any help would be greatly appreciated! edit: I have tried this: private static void Main(string[] args) { string text = "John Doe 123 45 #text Lorem ipsum dolor :)"; string pattern = @"(\w+)*([0-9]{2,5}).([0-9]{2,5}).#text"; Match match = Regex.Match(text, pattern, RegexOptions.IgnoreCase); if (match.Success) { string key = match.Groups[0].Value; Console.WriteLine(key); } }

  • Anyone have a good solution for scraping the HTML source of a page with content (in this case, HTML

    - by phpwns
Anyone have a good solution for scraping the HTML source of a page with content (in this case, HTML tables) generated with Javascript? An embarrassingly simple, though workable solution using Crowbar: <?php function get_html($url) // $url must be urlencode(d) { $context = stream_context_create(array( 'http' => array('timeout' => 120) // HTTP timeout in seconds )); $html = substr(file_get_contents('http://127.0.0.1:10000/?url=' . $url . '&delay=3000&view=browser', 0, $context), 730, -32); // substr removes HTML from the Crowbar web service, returning only the $url HTML return $html; } ?> The advantage to using Crowbar is that the tables will be rendered (and accessible) thanks to the headless mozilla-based browser. The problem, of course, is being dependent on on an external web service, especially given that SIMILE seems to undergo regular server maintenance. :( A pure php solution would be nice, but any functional (and reliable) alternatives would be great.

  • Help translating Reflector deconstruction into compilable code

    - by code poet
So I am Reflector-ing some framework 2.0 code and end up with the following deconstruction fixed (void* voidRef3 = ((void*) &_someMember)) { ... } This won't compile due to 'The right hand side of a fixed statement assignment may not be a cast expression' I understand that Reflector can only approximate and generally I can see a clear path but this is a bit outside my experience. Question: what is Reflector trying to describe to me? Update: Am also seeing the following fixed (IntPtr* ptrRef3 = ((IntPtr*) &this._someMember)) Update: So, as Mitch says, it is not a bitwise operator, but an addressOf operator. Question is now: fixed (IntPtr* ptrRef3 = &_someMember) fails with an 'Cannot implicitly convert type 'xxx*' to 'System.IntPtr*'. An explicit conversion exists (are you missing a cast?)' compilation error. So I seemed to be damned if I do and damned if I dont. Any ideas?

  • C# Entity Framework Base Repository

    - by Andy
I'm trying to create a base repository for use with Entity Framework 4.0 and having some trouble. In this code below, why is it not possible to do this in one line? public IEnumerable<T> GetAll<T>(Expression<Func<T, bool>> filter) { IEnumerable<T> allCustomers = this.GetAll<T>(); IEnumerable<T> result = allCustomers.Where(filter.Compile()); return result; } Won't this result in 2 SQL statements: one without a where clause that retrieves all rows, and one with a where clause that only retrieves the rows that match the predicate? How can this be done with a single SQL statement? I can't get it to compile if I try to cast the filter.Compile() to Func<Customer, bool>. Thanks, Andy

  • TFS: Managing assembly version number?

    - by TomTom
Hello, any good approach for managing assembly version numbers in TFS, possibly together with using the same number for the build number? I would be most interested in an approach that: Maintains the first three elements of the version Counts the rest upward for every "official" build (i.e. a build originating from certain templates only - no need to count up for something like a gated checkin, but the following regular integration build SHOULD count up. Labels the builds, so that a manual "release" build can be triggered. Any solution? How are other people handling this? Right now the (new) TFS is happily building with the same assembly version all around ;) Something coding the complete assembly version with date etc. is not acceptable - I want that number to "follow rules", and having the date in there is not one of them ;)

  • Is it possible, with simple F# pattern matching transformations, to ignore unmatched values without

    - by Phobis
So, I previously asked this question: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/2820234/can-someone-help-me-compare-using-f-over-c-in-this-specific-example-ip-address I was looking at the posted code and I was wondering if this code could be written without it producing a warning: let [|a;b;c;d|] = s.Split [|'.'|] IP(parseOrParts a, parseOrParts b, parseOrParts c, parseOrParts d) Is it possible to do something for the match _ pattern ot ignore? Without adding in something like Active Patterns? i want to keep the code as simple as possible... can I do this without drastically changing this code? NOTE: Warning is as follows Warning Incomplete pattern matches on this expression. For example, the value '[|_; _; _; _; _|]' may indicate a case not covered by the pattern(s).

  • MVC - Same URL, multiple views

    - by Amati
Hi, Is it considered bad practice to have multiple views for same URL in MVC, based on different user roles? For example: http://www.domain.com/ViewProductID/123 will show a "normal" product page for a regular user and it will show an "enhanced" (product stats, ability to edit title etc..) version to someone logged in as admin. If it's bad practice, why? If it's ok, what's the best way to implement it? 2 separate templates or 1 template scattered with if..else? Thanks!

Category view is the new view introduced in Windows Vista for the Control Panel: Is there a third party control or a way (via API) to create a ListView which mimics the behavior of the Windows 7 Control Panel? • C++ initializing constants and inheritance

    - by pingvinus
I want to initialize constant in child-class, instead of base class. And use it to get rid of dynamic memory allocation (I know array sizes already, and there will be a few child-classes with different constants). So I try: class A { public: const int x; A() : x(0) {} A(int x) : x(x) {} void f() { double y[this->x]; } }; class B : A { B() : A(2) {} }; Pretty simple, but compiler says: error C2057: expected constant expression How can I say to compiler, that it is really a constant?

  • Custom Web Control - ParseChildren & Resource Objects

    - by Raybiez
I hope someone can help me. I have the following custom server control: [ParseChildren(true)] public class MyControl : WebControl, INamingContainer { [PersistenceMode(PersistenceMode.InnerProperty)] public string MyProperty { get;set; } } It works perfectly with the following mark-up: <acme:MyControl runat="sever"> <MyProperty>Test String</MyProperty> </acme:MyControl> But if I try to localise the property string, I get a parse error: <acme:MyControl runat="sever"> <MyProperty><%=(string)GetLocalResourceObject("MyResourceKey") %></MyProperty> </acme:MyControl> Even if I cast the type, ASP.NET indicates that the property cannot accept controls as children. How should the expression look like if I want to localise it? I can make the property accessible as an attribute of the control's tag, but I prefer the mark-up above, it looks more elegant and clean. Thanks

  • problems with url and email regex when searching text

    - by Grant Collins
Hi, I'm having problems with regular expressions that I got from regexlib. I am trying to do a preg_replace() on a some text and want to replace/remove email addresses and URLs (http/https/ftp). The code that I am have is: $sanitiseRegex = array( 'email' => /'^([a-zA-Z0-9_\-\.]+)@((\[[0-9]{1,3}\.[0-9]{1,3}\.[0-9]{1,3}\.)|(([a-zA-Z0-9\-]+\.)+))([a-zA-Z]{2,4}|[0-9]{1,3})(\]?)$/', 'http' => '/^(http|https|ftp)\://[a-zA-Z0-9\-\.]+\.[a-zA-Z]{2,3}(:[a-zA-Z0-9]*)?/?([a-zA-Z0-9\-\._\?\,\'/\\\+&amp;%\$#\=~])*$/', ); $replace = array( 'xxxxx', 'xxxxx' ); $sanitisedText = preg_replace($sanitiseRegex, $replace, $text); However I am getting the following error: Unknown modifier '/' and $sanitisedText is null. Can anyone see the problem with what I am doing or why the regex is failing? Thanks

  • Boolean Not operator in VBScript

    - by Lumi
Consider the following two conditionals (involving bitwise comparisons) in VBScript: If 1 And 3 Then WScript.Echo "yes" Else WScript.Echo "no" If Not(1 And 3) Then WScript.Echo "yes" Else WScript.Echo "no" Prints first yes, then no, right? cscript not.vbs Wrong! It prints yes twice! Wait a second, the Not operator is supposed to perform logical negation on an expression. The logical negation of true is false, as far as I know. Must I conclude that it doesn't live up to that promise? How and why and what is going on here? What is the rationale, if any?

  • Wrong SQLServer syntax: need help!

    - by user512602
Hi, this is what I want to achieve: 4 tables are involved: Players with PlayerID as PK, Competitions with CompetID as PK Results with ResultID as PK and CompetID as FK And the 4th table: PlayerResultts with ResultID + PlayerID as PK and CompetID as new column I created. Competitions, results and PlayerResults are already populated and quite large (300000 PlayerResults so far). In order to populate the PlayerResults.CompetID column, I try a Update ... (Select....) request but I'm not aware of the right syntax and it fails. Here is my feeble attempt: update PlayerResults set competid = (select distinct(r.competid) from results r, playerresults p where r.resultID = p.resultid) Error is (of course): "Msg 512, Level 16, State 1, Line 1 Subquery returned more than 1 value. This is not permitted when the subquery follows =, !=, <, <= , , = or when the subquery is used as an expression." Can someone put me in the right direction? TIA

  • Split string on non-alphanumerics in PHP? Is it possible with php's native function?

    - by Jehanzeb.Malik
I was trying to split a string on non-alphanumeric characters or simple put I want to split words. The approach that immediately came to my mind is to use regular expressions. Example: $string = 'php_php-php php'; $splitArr = preg_split('/[^a-z0-9]/i', $string); But there are two problems that I see with this approach. It is not a native php function, and is totally dependent on the PCRE Library running on server. An equally important problem is that what if I have punctuation in a word Example: $string = 'U.S.A-men's-vote'; $splitArr = preg_split('/[^a-z0-9]/i', $string); Now this will spilt the string as [{U}{S}{A}{men}{s}{vote}] But I want it as [{U.S.A}{men's}{vote}] So my question is that: How can we split them according to words? Is there a possibility to do it with php native function or in some other way where we are not dependent? Regards

  • How to Create a Queue

    - by regex
Hello All, I have an application built that hits a third party company's web service in order to create an email account after a customer clicks a button. However, sometimes the web service takes longer than 1 minute to respond, which is way to long for my customers to be sitting there waiting for a response. I need to devise a way to set up some sort of queuing service external from the web site. This way I can add the web service action to the queue and advise the customer it may take up to 2 minutes to create the account. I'm curious of the best way to achieve this. My initial thought is to request the actions via a database table which will be checked on a regular basis by a Console app which is run via Windows Scheduled tasks. Any issues with that method? Is there a better method you can think of?

  • Static vs Non Static constructors

    - by Neil N
I can't think of any reasons why one is better than the other. Compare these two implementations: public class MyClass { public myClass(string fileName) { // some code... } } as opposed to: public class MyClass { private myClass(){} public static Create(string fileName) { // some code... } } There are some places in the .Net framework that use the static method to create instances. At first I was thinking, it registers it's instances to keep track of them, but regular constructors could do the same thing through the use of private static variables. What is the reasoning behind this style?

  • C# regex: negative lookahead fails with the single line option

    - by Sylverdrag
I am trying to figure out why a regex with negative look ahead fails when the "single line" option is turned on. Example (simplified): <source>Test 1</source> <source>Test 2</source> <target>Result 2</target> <source>Test 3</source> This: <source>(?!.*<source>)(.*?)</source>(?!\s*<target) will fail if the single line option is on, and will work if the single line option is off. For instance, this works (disables the single line option): (?-s:<source>(?!.*<source>)(.*?)</source>(?!\s*<target)) My understanding is that the single line mode simply allows the dot "." to match new lines, and I don't see why it would affect the expression above. Can anyone explain what I am missing here?
