    hey guys i need to implement a standard encryption decryption logic across an entire project platform which has different clients implemented using different platforms as follows: 1) iphone app (objectiv c) 2) website (classic asp) 3) webservice (asp.net) the iphone app as well as the website need to send info to webservice using encrypted query strings the web service then decrypts this and processes the info further wanted to know the simplest way to achieve this. is there some free and ready to use binary available with an easy to use api to achieve this? encryption needs to be as secure as possible thnx in advance

  • Good SMTP server on Windows for a production server

    I'm going to have my website hosted soon on a VPS or dedicated server (with Windows 2008), so I'm trying to plan ahead. I wonder whether the built-in SMTP server that comes with IIS7 is reliable enough for a production server or should I look for an alternative? I heard good things about hmailserver and best of all it's free, do you have any experience with using the bulit-in SMTP on a high traffic website. Thanks a lot for any suggestions

    I want to display a website embedded in my own site and modify the DOM (e.g. change a button's color/size), similar to what Firebug is capable of. I'm aware of the security issues that arise - my plan is to use this approach to do live website usability testing (A/B style). I am looking at ways to make my website as dynamic as possible without uploading changed content all over again. Something like config files. Rule engines exist, but learning them seems like a pain. I might be wrong in my perspective. Please suggest possible ways to change logic in the code at runtime.

  • Converting WAV to MP3 on Linux with low bitrates

    I need to convert WAV files to MP3 files so they can be played on a website. I think that LAME would probably be the best tool. However the WAV files are low bitrate (around 8kbits recorded from a phone) and LAME's website states that it is the "best MP3 encoder at mid-high bitrates and at VBR". Is there is a better encoder for lower bitrates? If so can you define "better"?

I'm not really sure how to go about this, as this could pave the way to bruteforce attack, since you could check for any username and see whether or not it exists. Any suggestions?

I want to prevent people at the earliest possible point from submitting too large URL parameters so the server doesn't get taxed more than necessary in the event that somebody tries to "attack" it with large invalid URL parameters.
