  • Using imtophat in Matlab

    I'm trying to do top hat filtering in matlab. The imtophat function looks promising, but I have no idea how to use it. I dont have a lot of work with Matlab before. I am trying to look find basically small spots several pixels wide that are local max in my 2 dimensional array.

  • A question mark within a @PathVariable in Spring MVC?

    Within the @Controller of a search engine: @RequestMapping(value = "/search/{query}", method = RequestMethod.GET) public String search(@PathVariable String query) {} If a user wants to search /search/w?rld (wich should match world, warld, whrld, etc.), the variable query equals w, because of the question mark which indicated a GET var. I tried "/search/{query:.+}", but still doesn't work. Any idea how to solve that problem?

  • asp.net ajax calls stop browsing of sites page

    Hi, I have an ajax web application(asp.net). some of users report the a problemt that when they work sometimes by system ( and pages who have ajax calls) their connection to server will intrupt and just a blank page they will see. they can't browse any other page on my site while they close all open browsers and reopen site.     I've been assigned a research project to enhance social networking based adaptive e-learning and to do so I need to be able to extract several (hundreds, maybe thousands) of status updates or tweets in order to perform factor analysis on key words. Apparently this can be done with javascript but I have never used javascript before so I'm a bit lost. I know I need a Twitter API but not sure even how to use one. Anybody have any idea how I can do this?

    I have a Location that can have Events. I want to have an upcoming_events method but want it to round down such that if someone looks at 10pm at night, it will show todays events. I have this: def upcoming_events d=Time.new d.strftime("%m-%d-%Y") l=Event.where('location_id=? and start_datetime>?',self.id, d) end I gets converted down correctly but in d.strftime but the query is: SELECT `events`.* FROM `events` WHERE (location_id=301 and start_datetime>'2012-06-20 02:49:23') Any idea how to just get it to do '2012-06-20'?

  • Windows7 Installer takes priority how to move it back during installation using C#?

    I've a custom Action on Deployment project of .NET Applicaiton, which contains custom dialogbox to enter certain parameters, on invalid parameters I've shown MessageBox.Show - but its being hide by installer window, I tried windows forms too with Activate, TopMost, Focus,bring2front, etc serveral options but it comes by default behind the windows installer window and due to this user is not able to identify why installing process is not finishing - because actually its waiting for user to read the MessageBox and press OK. I've tried to implement IWin32Window with the handler of MsiExec Process, and shown the Messagebox but still its not working, anyone has idea ???     I am having a sorted list which is rotated and I would like to do a binary search on that list to find the minimum element. Lets suppose initial list is {1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8} rotated list can be like {5,6,7,8,1,2,3,4} Normal binary search doesn't work in this case. Any idea how to do this.

  • odd resharper indentation formatting for object intializers

    For some strange reason when I have nested object intializers it always gets the last '}' wrong.     I have a Color, and I have a method that should return a more "transparent" version of that color. I tried the following method: public static Color SetTransparency(int A, Color color) { return Color.FromArgb(A, Color.R, Color.G, Color.B); } but for some reason, no matter what the A is, the returned Color's transparency level just won't change.   • Python module being reloaded for each request with django and mod_wsgi

    I have a variable in init of a module which get loaded from the database and takes about 15 seconds. For django development server everything is working fine but looks like with apache2 and mod_wsgi the module is loaded with every request (taking 15 seconds). Any idea about this behavior? Update: I have enabled daemon mode in mod wsgi, looks like its not reloading the modules now! needs more testing and I will update.

Apart from cases where the standard is permanent and unchanging, are regexes the way to do things, or is it better to try different methods?

  • Render as html from a remote link on Rails

    On my registration form i want to show a modal (of twitter-bootstrap) when the user has a successfull signup to tell him to check his email so i put "remote: true" on my form and render a .js.erb wich shows the modal, on my controller. BUT, in case of inputs errors i need to render the page as html to refresh de form showing those errors. Can I call the controller from the remote form as JS but render as html? (or any other idea to do what i want) Thanks!
