  • How to extract a single function from a source file

    Hi, I'm working on a small academic research about extremely long and complicated functions in the Linux kernel. I'm trying to figure out if there is a good reason to write 600 or 800 lines-long functions. For that purpose, I would like to find a tool that can extract a function from a .c file, so I can run some automated tests on the function. For example, If I have the function cifs_parse_mount_options() within the file connect.c, I'm seeking a solution that would roughly work like: extract /fs/cifs/connect.c cifs_parse_mount_options and return the 523 lines of code(!) of the function, from the opening braces to the closing braces. Of course, any way of manipulating existing software packages like gcc to do that, would be most helpful too.     I have written a simple python module, it has this code: _log = logging.getLogger("mymodule") _started = False def set_log_level(level): _log.setLevel(level) if not _started: _hdlr = logging.FileHandler('mymodule.log') When I call set_log_level() program fails because symbol _started is not found. It is normal because global _started is missing in the method. But my question is: symbol _log has the same visibility as _started, so why does this symbol can be found? BR, // Toby

I've tried to copy library from sdcard to /data/data/app/ and then System.load(/data/data/libjni.so) It works on HTC HERO, but fails on HTC Legend with Android 2.1. it fails during execution of native code and write to log uninformative stack trace Any other way to do it?

I'm creating a game in .NET (only managed code) where no significant graphics is needed but still I would like to write it properly in order to not to lose performance for nothing.     I am trying to digitally sign files using the CryptUIWizDigitalSign function from a .NET 2.0 application compiled to AnyCPU. The call works fine when running on x86 but fails on x64, it also works on an x64 OS when compiled to x86. Any idea on how to better marshall or call from x64?     I have problem when asking for default ILogger from Unity container. I have this setting defined in code (its VB.net) Dim container As IUnityContainer ... container.RegisterType(Of ILogger, NullLogger)() container.RegisterType(Of ILogger, EntLibLogger)("EL") When I am getting ILogger from container I may have different name, like: Ioc.Resolve(Of ILogger)("MyLogger") However this raises error as the mapping is not set for 'MyLogger'.     Does anyone know of a Windows Mobile 7 device aimed at business use? I’m looking for something with bar code scanning capability. Psion, hand held, and honeywell only offer 6.5 at the moment.
