  • Invoking powershell from Java

    Anyone know of a good library to invoke powershell scripts from within Java? I'm currently spawning a seperate process (powershell.exe) and then parse the output, but it would really be nice if I can leverage Powershell's 'power' by getting objects back from a powershell call. Edit: Otherwise, anyone else doing such interop? What method do you use?

    Ok, I asked a question earlier about Flex and ADO.NET Data Services but didn't get much response so I thought I'd rephrase. Does anyone have any experience building Adobe Flex applications with a .NET back-end? If so, what architecture did you use and what third-party tools if any did you employ. I've read a little about doing Flex remoting with WebORB but it seems more complicated than it should be, are web services an adequate alternative?

  • Castle WCF DefaultServiceHostFactory in IIS: Accessing the ServiceHost

    I am attempting to move from a self hosting architecture to hosting under IIS 6, primarily to take advantage of built in dynamic compression. I am using the Castle DefaultServiceHostFactory to provide the service to IIS in the .svc file. However, I need to programmatically specify certain end points and behaviours and I do not know how to retrieve the current ServiceHost. Is this be possible, or should I just look at other methods of compression independent of IIS?

Considering the client/server architecture (which I am new to) I would like to know if the "client" is represented only by the Internet browser and therefore the entire code of the web application should be stored in the server.     Right now I am writing a simulation program which output is formatted according to certain factors. The question is in a MVC architecture, where is the conditional formatting to be taken place? What are some strategies for implement this feature? FYI, The platform I am using is rather bare-bone in its GUI/front-end execution. To change color and formatting, it requires a change to the formatting state (much like OpenGL).

    I currently have a game written using the Android canvas. It is completely 2D, and I draw bitmaps as sprites on the canvas, and it technically works, but I have a few features that I need to add that will require drawing many more bitmaps on the screen, and there will be a lot more movement. The app needs more power. What is the best way to go from this method of drawing Bitmaps on a canvas to using OpenGL so I can draw them faster?

    I would like to know the number of users logged into my ASP.NET 2.0 application. Points to be considered: 1) Simplest way would be to use Application or Cache object to have the counts on Session start or end. However this would fail if there is a worker process recycle. Wouldn't it? 2) Should't make a difference whether the session is inproc/state server managed/ or SQL server managed. 3) Should preferably be seamless to a web-farm architecture.

Running ld source.o produces the following output: Undefined symbols: "_printf", referenced from: _main in source.o ld: symbol(s) not found for inferred architecture x86_64 How can I reference libSystem(or whatever library includes printf) using ld?
