  • Visual Studio &amp; TFS &ndash; List of addins, extensions, patches and hotfixes &ndash; Latest and Greatest

    This post is a list of the addins and extensions we (I ) recommend for use in Inmeta.  It’s coming up all the time – what to install, where are the download sites, etc etc, and thus I thought it better to post it here and keep it updated. The basics are Visual Studio 2010 connected to a Team Foundation Server 2010.  The edition of Visual Studio I use is the Ultimate Edition, but as many stay with the Premium Edition I’ve marked the extensions which only works with the Ultimate with a . I’ve also split the group into Recommended (which means Required) and Optional (which means Recommended) and Nice to Have (which means Optional) .   The focus is to get a setup which can be used for a complete coding experience for the whole ALM process.  The Code Gallery is found either through the Tools/Extension Manager menu in Visual Studio or through this link.   • Is there anJoomla extensions that works like Yahoo! Groups??

    Hello all, Can anybody suggests me any extensions for Joomla that works like Yahoo!Groups?? I needed an extensions that : 1. If i post a new subject, everybody on the subscription list get that new subject/article/post on their e-mail. 2. The subscriber/receiver of that mail, can reply it directly from their e-mail (yahoo, gmail, outlook, etc)...and, their reply shows on the website front end. Basically, like Yahoo! Groups did... I've tried "Acajoom", and "Ultimate Mailing List"....both worked great for creating a newsletter, subscription, and sending mail to all the subscriber. But i cannot reply the e-mail and showed the reply on the website, and the other receiver didn;t receive it too...so there is absolutely no interaction within the mailing list. If anyone can suggest me something, i will be very grateful Thanx!!

  • How can I get the file extensions from relative links in HTML text using Perl?

    For example, scanning the contents of an HTML page with a Perl regular expression, I want to match all file extensions but not TLD's in domain names. To do this I am making the assumption that all file extensions must be within double quotes. I came up with the following, and it is working, however, I am failing to figure out a way to exclude the TLDs in the domains. This will return "com", "net", etc. m/"[^<>]+\.([0-9A-Za-z]*)"/g Is it possible to negate the match if there is more than one period between the quotes that are separated by text? (ie: match foo.bar.com but not ./ or ../) Edit I am using $1 to return the value within parentheses.

  • Ati X1600 driver problem on Mac

    Hi all, I currently own a 06' Macbook pro 1.1, and since some months I have recurrent problems of displays bug or artifacts. I searched quickly around to see that a lot of other users on Mac (iMac or Macbook pro) also have the same problem due to a problem for the X1600 video card. Apparently it's due to overheating problem, in my case even without warming a lot I have very bad display bugs such as colorful pixel lines, or glitches, and freeze and crash, all of this on Tiger, Leopard and Snow Leopard. I found this interesting article here talking about this problem and trying to gather people so that Apple take the serious GPU problem in consideration. In one of the comments, an user said he removed all bundle named with "radeon" and then he had no more problems under Leopard, and seems ot work fine well too on Snow Leopard. I did the same thing, I removed the bundles of the driver, restart, and no more problems, but not more 3D acceleration, which is not an acceptable solution. For those interested, here is the list of files to be deleted to stop having this problem. /System/Library/Extensions/ATIRadeonX1000.kext /System/Library/Extensions/ATIRadeonX1000GA.plugin /System/Library/Extensions/ATIRadeonX1000GLDriver.bundle /System/Library/Extensions/ATIRadeonX1000VADriver.bundle /System/Library/Extensions/ATIRadeonX2000.kext /System/Library/Extensions/ATIRadeonX2000GA.plugin /System/Library/Extensions/ATIRadeonX2000GLDriver.bundle /System/Library/Extensions/ATIRadeonX2000VADriver.bundle I would like to know if there is a way to fix this using other drivers if that's possible or by creating a group to force Apple to make a replacement program in place.   • File recovery from Mac results in random files and extensions – how do I get my data back?

    This Mac hard drive was dying. Someone I knew did a file recovery and got as many files as he could. The program (not sure how it was done, or what program it was) dished out a bunch of folders names such as: DIR56.TOC DIR55.CUR DIR54.GPZ DIR53.GZI … and so forth, all the way down to DIR0.LZH. Some of the file extensions I do understand — like .JPEG, or .MOV — but most of them are ones I've never heard of. I've googled some of them like .TOC, wich stands for "table of contents", but I don't understand how to transfer that data back to the Mac. Currently, they are on a Windows machine. They are being transfered onto an external hard drive that the Mac can read. It can also see all the files. However, the few that I tested to see if the Mac recognizes them (like .TOC and .CUR) cannot be opened. Anyone have any idea as to what I should do? There are some important assignments on there I need to get. EDIT: Data transfer was most likely done by: Easy Recover 6 professional (95% sure, no guarantee)

    If you’ve deployed your WCF Behavior Extension, and you get a Configuration Error, it might just be you’re lacking a space between your “Type” name and the “Assembly” name.   • What is the general feeling about reflection extensions in std::type_info?

    I've noticed that reflection is one feature that developers from other languages find very lacking in c++. For certain applications I can really see why! It is so much easier to write things like an IDE's auto-complete if you had reflection. And certainly serialization APIs would be a world easier if we had it. On the other side, one of the main tenets of c++ is don't pay for what you don't use. Which makes complete sense. That's something I love about c++. But it occurred to me there could be a compromise. Why don't compilers add extensions to the std::type_info structure? There would be no runtime overhead. The binary could end up being larger, but this could be a simple compiler switch to enable/disable and to be honest, if you are really concerned about the space savings, you'll likely disable exceptions and RTTI anyway. Some people cite issues with templates, but the compiler happily generates std::type_info structures for template types already. I can imagine a g++ switch like -fenable-typeinfo-reflection which could become very popular (and mainstream libs like boost/Qt/etc could easily have a check to generate code which uses it if there, in which case the end user would benefit with no more cost than flipping a switch). I don't find this unreasonable since large portable libraries like this already depend on compiler extensions. So why isn't this more common? I imagine that I'm missing something, what are the technical issues with this?

    I am having trouble with some of my rubygems, in particular those that use native extensions. I am on a MacBookPro, with Snow Leopard. I have XCode 3.2.1 installed, with gcc 4.2.1. Ruby 1.8.6, because I'm lazy and a scaredy cat and don't want to upgrade yet. Ruby is running in 32-bit mode. I built this ruby from scratch when my MBP ran OSX 10.4. When I require one of the affected gems in irb, I get a Load Error for the gem extension's bundle file. For example, here's nokogigi dissing me: > require 'rubygems' = true > require 'nokogiri' LoadError: Failed to load /usr/local/lib/ruby/gems/1.8/gems/nokogiri-1.4.1/lib/nokogiri/nokogiri.bundle This is also happening with the Postgres pg and MongoDB mongo gems. My first thought was that the extensions must not be building right. But gem install wasn't throwing any errors. So I reinstalled with the verbose flag, hoping to see some helpful warnings. I've put the output in a Pastie, and the only warning I see is a consistent one about "passing argument n of ‘foo’ with different width due to prototype." I suspect that this might be an issue from upgrading to Snow Leopard, but I'm a little surprised to experience it now, since I've updated my XCode. Could it stem from running Ruby in 1.8.6? I'm embarrassed that I don't know quite enough about my Mac and OSX to know where to look next, so any guidance, even just a pointer to some document I couldn't find via Google, would be most welcome.   • Why no ArgumentEmptyException in .NET ?

    I am beginning to think I am doing something wrong. I mean they did place System.String.IsNullOrWhitespace finally but no ArgumentEmptyException class. public FilterItem(string name, IEnumerable<string> extensions) { if (string.IsNullOrWhiteSpace(name)) { throw new ArgumentNullException("name"); } if (extensions == null) { throw new ArgumentNullException("extensions"); } if (extensions.Count() == 0) { throw new ArgumentOutOfRangeException("extensions"); } this.Name = name; this.Extensions = extensions; } throwing an ArgumentOutOfRangeException feels unnatural. Also an instance of ArgumentException is too general in my opinion. It's easy to me to create a new exception class call it this way and have it over with. What bugs me is that it's not in the BCL/FCL and I am beginning to think there's a good reason not to have it. Should there be one?

  • Disabling kextcache on 10.5.8 and 10.6.3

    We use Radmind to manage our Mac OS X loadsets and, as such, often run into difficulty when new OS releases come out due to, among other things, updated kernel extensions. The workflow in the past (OS revisions <= 10.4) was to delete the kernel extension cache, update the extensions, and then reboot. That worked just fine, as the system would re-create missing caches on boot. In Leopard, you need to delete the caches after replacing the kernel extensions with their new versions, as the system will automatically start creating them when you replace them; the only way to ensure that you don't have invalid extensions cached is to delete the cache before rebooting. I'm looking for a way to prevent the kernel extensions cache from being re-created until the next reboot. If you modify the contents of /System/Library/Extensions/, kextcache will start up automatically. I've looked through /System/Library/LaunchDaemons/ and other places, but I can't find whatever it is that's starting kextcache. Any ideas?

  • UNIX find for finding file names NOT ending in specific extensions?

    Is there a simple way to recursively find all files in a directory hierarchy, that do not end in a list of extensions? E.g. all files that are not *.dll or *.exe UNIX/GNU find, powerful as it is, doesn't seem to have an exclude mode (or I'm missing it), and I've always found it hard to use regular expressions to find things that don't match a particular expression. I'm in a Windows environment (using the GnuWin32 port of most GNU tools), so I'm equally open for Windows-only solutions.

  • Wine is no longer able to initialize OpenGL

    Since a while, wine is no longer able to initialize OpenGL on my 64bit Linux.     In my database I have a Person table and an Event table (parties, meetings, &c.). This many-to-many relationship is represented through an Invitation table. Each Person can have many Invitations. Each Event can also have many Invitations. How can I check if the module was loaded properly? how can i make sure that there where no conflicts? how can i make sure that there were no dependencies issues with another module?     I am trying to install a Firefox extension into Firefox 3.6.13 under OS X 10.5.8, and I keep getting an error message: Firefox could not install the file at because: Download error -228 I have read this and found it unhelpful. My cache is 500 MB and ~/Library/Caches/TemporaryItems is writable: [jnet@Stan ~]$ ls -la ~/Library/Caches/TemporaryItems total 16 drwx------ 5 jnet jnet 170 Jan 27 20:51 . Any idea how I can correct this?
