    I just ran across this point that references a security vulnerability in Web Apps that depends on looking at the size of encrypted web pages to deduce what the uses is doing. The simplest solution to this I can think of would be to use a tool to minify all static content so that (after encryption) only a small number of result sizes exist so as to minimize the information available to an eavesdropper. Are there any tools for doing this?

  • Browsing PDF in a web page without using Flash

    I Have an N-Pages PDF linked in a my web page. I want to be able to browse the PDF, with next and prev arrows, page numbers, etc etc I want to be able to browse the PDF without using any Flash Plugin. I also want to normalize the browsing behaviour, so i don't want to use the default PDF plugin of the browser. I'm looking for a JS plugin but i don't find interesting solutions. Any other suggestions ? Thanks

  • php POST and non-english language passes empty

    I'm trying to program a Hebrew site with a search option. I am using php 5 with Apache 2.2, on a Debian 5 (Lenny) with appropriate code pages enabled. I am using _POST to pass arguments to a script. If I pass English word to the script everything works, but when I use Hebrew nothing is passed through the POST function. When I use ECHO to show _POST, the variable is empty. What might be the problem?

    I am new to git and recently set up a new account with github. I'm following a rails tutorial from Michael Hartl online ( http://www.railstutorial.org/book#fig:github_first_page ) and followed his instructions to set up my git which were also inline with the setup instructions at github. Anyways, the "Next Steps" section on github were: mkdir sample_app cd sample_app git init touch README git add README git commit -m 'first commit' git remote add origin [email protected]:rosdabos55/sample_app.git git push origin master I got all the way to the last instruction (git push origin master) without any problem. When I entered that last line into my terminal, however, I got this error message: "fatal: No path specified. See 'man git-pull' for valid url syntax." What might I be doing wrong?

    I'd like to automatically generate a file and add it to a commit if it has changed. Is it possible, if so, what hooks should I use? Context: I'm programming a CSS library. It has several CSS files, and at the end I want to produce a compacted and minimized version. Right now my workflow is: Modify the css files x.css and y.css git add x.css y.css Execute minimize.sh which parses all the css files on my lib, minimizes them and produces a min.css file git add min.css git commit -m 'modified x and y doing foo and bar' I would like to have steps 3 and 4 done automatically via a git hook. Is that possible? I've never used git hooks before. After reading the man page, I think I need to use the @pre-commit@ hook. But can I invoke git add min.css, or will I break the internet?

    For my Social Networking Site, I would like to build a facebook, or twitter similar URL rewriting naming convention. Using Twitter as an example, they have pages labeled twitter.com/about and another page labeled twitter.com/{$username} However, how do you differentiate between say a user who has registers on to our site as "about" then. From this we are going to have a server conflict between the user "about" and the page about. What is the best way to handle this?

    Hi all, I noticed that I cannot add stylesheets on any page. They must be added to the master page. I already have about 15 stylesheets in the master view, which seems like overkill, since only some of the pages use a certain stylesheet. I imagine I could reference the file via javascript (although, I can't think of how off the top of my head), but it would be really nice to not have to use any.

I have seen the "bbox" device, but it returns the bounding box (it differs per page), not the TrimBox (or CropBox) of the PDF pages.   • Moss workflow approval using minimal site definition

    Hi When using the minimal site definition for moss from codeplex (http://www.codeplex.com/features), after adding the features required for workflow, workflow approval becomes available for the pages library. When I submit a page for approval, the buttons for approve and reject do not appear on the page editing toolbar. I can go and view the workflow approval and approve/reject it but the normal buttons on the page editing toolbar do not appear. Any ideas greatly appreciated.

  • css, jquery issue

    I was playing with Infogrid on my site. I added a header, a footer and added some text on the last block of iron man. As you can see the footer doesn't show up and the text of the last block is cut off. Now if you remove overflow:hidden; on the body, html the footer shows up but the text is still cut off. Any idea on how this the footer could show up without the scrollbar (so overflow:hidden; has to stay) and how to get the text of the last block to show up entirely?     Hi, I am trying to compile Webkit on Ubuntu 8.04. But when i run autogen.sh, I get the following error saying it needs a newer version of glib. So what is the safest way to install glib without screwing up the rest of my OS (since the rest needs 2.16 while webkit compile needs 2.21)? checking for GLIB... configure: error: Package requirements (glib-2.0 >= 2.21.3 gobject-2.0 >= 2.0 gthread-2.0 >= 2.0) were not met: Requested 'glib-2.0 >= 2.21.3' but version of GLib is 2.16.6 Consider adjusting the PKG_CONFIG_PATH environment variable if you installed software in a non-standard prefix. Alternatively, you may set the environment variables GLIB_CFLAGS and GLIB_LIBS to avoid the need to call pkg-config. See the pkg-config man page for more details.
