• Bind button visibility to the expresion (C#)

  I have a delete button in each row of GridView (component ASP.NET). I want some of the delete buttons to be invisible. The visibility of the delete button should depend on the data that are back the row. GridView is backed by EntityDataSource. GridView displays entities called Category, one instance in each row. Entity Category has (besides others) also a field of type EntityCollection. Name of that field is Items. Basically I want to allow user to delete a row only if the Items field of backing Category entity is an empty collection. I cannot make up the binding of Visible property. I have no experience with bindings and Google does not really help. This is how the button looks right now: <asp:Button ID="DeleteButton" runat="server" CommandName="Delete" Text="Delete" Visible=??? ></asp:Button> I don't know what should replace ???. The button schold be visible only when this expression evaluates to true: ((SimpleEShop.Model.Category) dataItem).Items.LongCount() <= 0 where dataItem variable contains data of current row in the table. • wcf trying to set up tracing to debug, not writing to log file

  here's my web.config, running a WCF service in an application on IIS7, but nothing is being written to the specified file. permission on the file has been granted for everyone. </listeners> I can add a service reference just fine. I then try to call the service from a windows app and, after a few minutes, get an error on the machine running the windows app "Client is unable to finish the security negotiation within the configured timeout (00:00:00). The current negotiation leg is 1 (00:00:00)." but absolutely nothing is written to the trace log file specified in config. • (Not So) Silly Objective-C inheritance problem when using property - GCC Bug?

  Update 2 - Many people are insisting I need to declare an iVar for the property. Some are saying not so, as I am using Modern Runtime (64 bit). I can confirm that I have been successfully using @property without iVars for months now. Therefore, I think the 'correct' answer is an explanation as to why on 64bit I suddenly have to explicitly declare the iVar when (and only when) i'm going to access it from a child class. The only one I've seen so far is a possible GCC bug (thanks Yuji). Not so simple after all... Update - I messed up one line of the original copy and paste - corrected. The @property call was missing (nonatomic, retain) but is a red herring - STILL NEED AN ANSWER! Thanks. I've been scratching my head with this for a couple of hours - I haven't used inheritance much. Here I have set up a simple Test B class that inherits from Test A, where an ivar is declared. But I get the compilation error that the variable is undeclared. This only happens when I add the property and synthesize declarations - works fine without them.   I am in my first steps of implementing OpenID in my Rails app. open_id_authentication appeared to be a fairly easy-to-use plugin, which is why I decided to use it. Logging in with my Google account seems to work perfectly, however I do not get the sreg/AX fields that I require.   Hello I have a form in witch users can add their working hours view them and edit them (All in one page). When adding working hours the user must select a project from a dropdown list. In case the action is adding a new hour record the dropdown field should remain empty (not selected) in case the action is edit the dropdown field should be selected with the appropriate value. It works fine until I tried to code the errors. The problem is that when I use the error method: validates_presence_of :project_id it didn't recognize it in the html form of the dropdown list and don’t display the error message (its working only for the dropdown with the collect method). I will deeply appreciate your instructions and help in this matter

• MVC : Checkboxes generated using JavaScript not appearing in FormCollection on postback

  I took over another project (written by one contractor, modified by another and now it's not working) written using MVC/C# where a view that has a table (see below) is dynamically populated using JSON/Javascript - the first column of which is a checkbox. View (spark view engine) <table id='component_list' name='component_list' cellpadding='0' border='0' cellspacing='0'> <thead> <tr> <th>&nbsp;</th> <th>Component</th> <th>Component Type</th> <th>Evenflo Part #</th> <th>Supplier Part #</th> <th>Supplier</th> <th>Requirement</th> <th>Location</th> <th>Region</th> </tr> </thead> <tbody> </tbody> </table> When the page is rendered, I look at the source for the page and do not see the table data (I wouldn't expect to see this). However, when the form is posted back, controller, the FormCollection is empty. Supposedly this had been working before the last contractor got their hands on it - which is another post all together. I need to know what the best way to add and delete these lines would be. So when they click "Add Text Line" it finds out how many list elements are in the unordered list, adds a value of 1 to that and places a new list element with the id TextItem1 or TextItem2 or whatever number we're on. The problem i'm running into is that when you click delete item, it screws everything up because when you add an item again all the numbers aren't correct. I thought about writing some kind of logic that says all the numbers above the one you want deleted get 1 subtracted from their value and all the numbers below stay the same. But I think i'm just going about this the wrong way. Any suggestions on the easiest way to add and delete these text lines is appreciated.

• Different EF Property DataType than Storage Layer Possible?

  Hi, I am putting together a WCF Data Service for PatientEntities using Entity Framework. My solution needs to address these requirements: Property DateOfBirth of entity Patient is stored in SQL Server as string. It would be ideal if the entity class did not also use the "string" type but rather a DateTime type. (I would expect this to be possible since we're abstracting away from the storage layer). Where could a conversion mechanism be put in place that would convert to and from DateTime/string so that the entity and SQL Server are in sync?. I cannot change the storage layer's structure, so I have to work around it. WCF Data Services (Read-only, so no need for saving changes) need to be used since clients will be able to use LINQ expressions to consume the service. They can generate results based on any given query scenario they need and not be constrained by a single method such as GetPatient(int ID). I've tried to use DTOs, but run into problem of mapping the ObjectContext to a DTO, I don't think that is theoretically possible...or too complicated if it is. I've tried to use Self Tracking Entities but they require the metadata from the .edmx file if I'm correct, and this isn't allowing a different property data type. I also want to add customizations to my Entity getter methods so that a property "MRN" of type "string" needs to have .Replace("MR~", string.Empty) performed before it is returned. I can add this to the getter methods but the problem with that is Entity Framework will overwrite that next time it refreshes the entity classes. Is there a permanent place I can put these? Should I use POCO instead? How would that work with WCF Data Services? Where would the service grab the metadata?

  I have a project that is build up from several OSGi bundles. One of them is a generic Database bundle that defines a DataSource that can be used throughout the project. The spring bean definition of this service is: <osgi:service interface="javax.sql.DataSource"> <bean class="org.postgresql.ds.PGPoolingDataSource"> <property name="databaseName" value="xxx" /> <property name="serverName" value="xxx" /> <property name="user" value="xxx" /> <property name="password" value="xxx" /> </bean> </osgi:service> Now, when using this DataSource is a different bundle, we get an error: No suitable driver found for jdbc:postgresql://localhost/xxx I have tried the following to add the org.postgresql.Driver to the DriverManager: Instantiated an empty bean for that Driver in the spring context, like this: <bean class="org.postgresql.Driver" /> Instantiated the Driver statically in one of the classes, like this: Class.forName("org.postgresql.Driver"); Added a file META-INF\services\java.sql.Driver with the content org.postgresql.Driver None of these solutions seems to help.

Basically, if the data is empty, I want it to do nothing!

  Is it possible to test for the existence of a script-scoped variable in PowerShell? I've been using the PowerShell Community Extensions (PSCX) but I've noticed that if you import the module while Set-PSDebug -Strict is set, an error is produced: The variable '$SCRIPT:helpCache' cannot be retrieved because it has not been set. At C:\Users\...\Modules\Pscx\Modules\GetHelp\Pscx.GetHelp.psm1:5 char:24 While investigating how I might fix this, I found this piece of code in Pscx.GetHelp.psm1: #requires -version 2.0 param([string[]]$PreCacheList) if ((!$SCRIPT:helpCache) -or $RefreshCache) { $SCRIPT:helpCache = @{} } This is pretty straight forward code; if the cache doesn't exist or needs to be refreshed, create a new, empty cache. The problem is that calling $SCRIPT:helpCache while Set-PSDebug -Strict is in force casues the error because the variable hasn't been defined yet. Ideally, we could use a Test-Variable cmdlet but such a thing doesn't exist! I thought about looking in the variable: provider but I don't know how to determine the scope of a variable. So my question is: how can I test for the existence of a variable while Set-PSDebug -Strict is in force, without causing an error?

• jQuery image hover color overlay

  I can't seem to find any examples of this having been done anywhere on the internet before but here is what I am going to attempt to do...I'm trying to go about the cleanest possible way of laying this out. So I have an image gallery where the images are all different sizes. I want to make it so that when you mouseover the image, it turns a shade of orange. Just a simple hover effect. I want to do this without using an image swap, otherwise I'd have to create an orange colored hover-image for each individual gallery image, I'd like this to be a bit more dynamic. My plan is just to position an empty div over the image absolutely with a background color, width and height 100% and opacity: 0. Then using jquery, on mouseover I'd have the opacity fade to 0.3 or so, and fade back to zero on mouseout. My question is, what would be the best way to layout the html and css to do this efficiently and cleanly. • Loading Native library to external Package in Eclipse not working. is it a Bug?

  I was about to report a but to Eclipse, but I was thinking to give this a chance here first: If I add an external package, the application cannot find the referenced native library, except in the case specified at the below: If my workspace consists of a single project, and I import an external package 'EX_package.jar' from a folder outside of the project folder, I can assign a folder to the native library location via: mouse over package - right click - properties - Native Library - Enter your folder. This does not work. In runtime the application does not load the library, System.mapLibraryName(Path) also does not work. Further more, if I create a User Library, and add the package to it and define a folder for the native library it still does not. If it works for you then I have a major bug since it does not work on my computer I test this in any combination I could think of, including adding the path to the windows PATH parameter, and so many other ways I can't even start to remember, nothing worked, I played with this for hours and had a colleague try to assist me, but we both came up empty. Further more, if I have a main project that is dependent on few other projects in my workspace, and they all need to use the same 'EX_package.jar' I MUST supply a HARD COPY INTO EACH OF THEM, it will ONLY (I can't stress the ONLYNESS, I got freaked out by this) work if I have a hard copy of the package in ALL of the project folders that the main project has a dependency on, and ONLY if I configure the Native path in each of them!! This also didn't do the trick. please tell me there is a solution to this, this drives me nuts... Thanks, Adam Zehavi.

• Using CURL within a loop to download a file, 1st one works, 2nd one times out

  Morning all, I am using CURL to download an image file within a loop. The first time it runs fine and I see the image appear in the directory. The second time it fails with a timeout, despite it being a valid URL. Can anyone suggest why it always fails on the 2nd time and how to fix it?   Ok, I've got this singleton-like web class which uses session to maintain state. I initially thought I was going to have to manipulate the session variables on each "set" so that the new values were updated in the session. However I tried using it as-is, and somehow, it remembers state. For example, if run this code on one page: UserContext.Current.User.FirstName = "Micah"; And run this code in a different browser tab, FirstName is displayed correctly: Response.Write(UserContext.Current.User.FirstName); Can someone tell me (prove) how this data is getting persisted in the session? I have a UITableView containing a first row wich is always the same (a empty row with repeating background) Next rows are bounch of dynamic data rows. I have set the yellow background on my UITableView in IBuilder, My cells (except first row) have white background with code: UIView* backgroundView = [ [ [ UIView alloc ] initWithFrame:CGRectZero ] autorelease ]; backgroundView.backgroundColor = [UIColor colorWithRed: 0.96078431372549 green: 0.96078431372549 blue: 0.96078431372549 alpha: 1.0]; cell.backgroundView = backgroundView; for ( UIView* view in cell.contentView.subviews ) { view.backgroundColor = [ UIColor clearColor ]; } The example yellow background, I only want to be showed at the top. As u see img example below. The thing is I dont want to have yellow background under the last datarow, I want to contain same white color I have on the cells. This should be white as the cells.   Here's the test page I'm using. With an alert in the handler: var fn = function() { alert("omg!"); } The form is not submitted. This is awfully curious. With event.stop(), which is supposed to prevent the browser taking the default action: var fn = function(event) { event.stop(); } We are sent to #fail. So alert() is more effective at preventing a submission than event.stop(). What gives? I'm using Firefox 3.6.3 and Prototype 1.6.0.3. This behaviour also appears in Prototype 1.6.1.

• Rails with passenger only runs in development

  Hey, I have a problem on one of our webservers. I'll try to explain it as clear as possible, but I'm not 100% aware of all the configuration of the server. There are 2 sites running next to eachother (blcc_preprod and blcc_prod), so in the 'sites-enabled' of apache this i have a file 'blcc' like this: <VirtualHost *:80> DocumentRoot /opt/dn/blcc/www RailsBaseURI /blcc_preprod RailsBaseURI /blcc_prod RailsEnv production </VirtualHost> My config/environments/production.log (from both) looks like this(I removed all comments, because it messes with the layout) config.cache_classes = true config.action_controller.consider_all_requests_local = false config.action_controller.perform_caching = true config.action_view.cache_template_loading = true config.log_level = :debug The weird thing is, that my production log dates from months ago, so something is really wrong. Could someone help? If you need more info, just ask. Thanks!
