  • How to solve Python memory leak when using urrlib2?

    Hi, I'm trying to write a simple Python script for my mobile phone to periodically load a web page using urrlib2. In fact I don't really care about the server response, I'd only like to pass some values in the URL to the PHP. The problem is that Python for S60 uses the old 2.5.4 Python core, which seems to have a memory leak in the urrlib2 module. As I read there's seems to be such problems in every type of network communications as well. This bug have been reported here a couple of years ago, while some workarounds were posted as well. I've tried everything I could find on that page, and with the help of Google, but my phone still runs out of memory after ~70 page loads. Strangely the Garbege Collector does not seem to make any difference either, except making my script much slower. It is said that, that the newer (3.1) core solves this issue, but unfortunately I can't wait a year (or more) for the S60 port to come. here's how my script looks after adding every little trick I've found: import urrlib2, httplib, gc while(true): url = "http://something.com/foo.php?parameter=" + value f = urllib2.urlopen(url) f.read(1) f.fp._sock.recv=None # hacky avoidance f.close() del f gc.collect() Any suggestions, how to make it work forever without getting the "cannot allocate memory" error?   • Incorrect new Uri(base, relative) behaviour in .NET

    When you create a new Uri like this: New Uri(New Uri("http://example.com/test.php"),"?x=y") it returns: http://example.com/?x=y It was supposed to return: http://example.com/test.php?x=y according to the every major browser out there (I'm not quite sure what RFC says though). Is this is a bug or is there any other function out there which behaves correctly, also what's the best way to fix it without reinventing the wheel?

  • Problem in finalizing the link list in C#

    My code was almost finished that a maddening bug came up! when i nullify the last node to finalize the link list , it actually dumps all the links and make the first node link Null ! when i trace it , its working totally fine creating the list in the loop but after the loop is done that happens and it destroys the rest of the link by doing so, and i don't understand why something so obvious is becoming problematic!     Hi, I'm writing an embedded ftp server, and I cannot get the listing format correctly. The server works completely, only programs like FileZilla cannot interpret the listing format. I thought as the principal that owns the schema, you had full control over it? What permission do i need to grant testuser so that it has full control over the test schema only?     Hi all, for a project we will be doing webbased certificate enrollment, in Vista / Win7 combination with IE this gives some problems if the user does not import the root certificate first and then changes a lot of default IE settings (Enable ActiveX not marked safe for scripting etc....). I was wondering if any of you ever created a test VB or Javascript to test that all the settings are OK. So it can be used by the user before he starts the enrollment process.... greetings, Tim

  • Can I use Visual Studio's testing facilities in native code?

    Is it possible to use Visual Studio's testing system with native code? I have no objection to recompiling the code itself under C++/CLI if it's possible the code can be recompiled without changes -- but the production code shipped has to be native code. The Premium Edition comes with code coverage support which I might be able to get cheaply from my University -- but I can get the Professional Edition for free from DreamSpark -- and that's the only thing I can see that I'd use. (But I'd use it a LOT)

    Hello folks, I have reinstalled in my Windows XP machine. After it is re-isntalled the audio in my machine has failed. I have installed all the device drivers in my mother board. The Realtek Sound driver is also installed. Note: Sound is working when I test the surround settings test in my RealTek program, but unable to play any audio, tried playing both in my local machine and from the internet.
