The actual file name is stored in an NSUserDefault called recentDownload. When I build this, I click the button which this is under, and my application crashes. Is there anything wrong with the syntax or just simple error?

Specifically, we have these files starting with AB_.jpg where the _ could be anything. We put them in a folder on April 27th for example, but they shouldn't be accessible until April 30th at 11:59:59 PM.     I am trying to create a table in my MS SQL database for Languages. I want to store an English name of Language and a local name of language in the database. i.e. Language, Language(local) English, English German, Deutsch Italian, Italiano Japanese, ??? ... ... I have 279 languages that I want to import, but when I import it shows '?????' for some like japanese, Russian and arabic etc The database Collation is Latin1_General_CI_AS. I would also like advise on multilingual websites; if i have a database of product descriptions and I want to have translation in multiple languages, should I go for separate databases or Can I have translation in one databse? (I prefer not to duplicate data!). Anything else to make sure users are able to write comments in different languages (char encoding on web?) and can be stored in database.

    I was wondering, what is the longest possible name length allowed by the Windows kernel? E.g.: I know the kernel uses UNICODE_STRING structures to hold all object paths, and since the byte length of a wide-character string is stored inside a USHORT, that allows for a maximum path length of 2^15 - 1 characters. Is there a similar, hard restriction on a file name (rather than path)? (I don't care if NTFS or FAT32 imposes a particular restriction; I'm looking for the longest possible theoretically allowed name in the kernel, assuming no additional file system or shell restrictions.) (Edit: For those wondering why this even matters, consider that normally, traversing a directory is achieved by FindFirstFile/FindNextFile calls, one call per file. Given the function named NtQueryDirectoryFile, which is the underlying system call and which returns multiple file names per call, it's actually possible to take advantage of this maximum-length restriction on the path to make an extremely-fast directory traverser that uses solely the stack as a buffer. Now I'm trying to extend that concept, and I need to know the maximum size of a file name.)

  • MySQL import in phpmyadmin (CSV) chokes on quotes

    I am trying to import a .csv file into a MySQL table via phpMyAdmin. The .csv file is separated by pipes, formated like this: data|d'ata|d'a"ta|dat"a| data|"da"ta|data|da't'a| dat'a|data|da"ta"|da'ta| The data contains quotes. I have no control over the format in which I recieve the data -- it is generated by a third party. The problem comes when there is a | followed by a double quote. I always get an "invalid field count in CSV input on line N" error. I am uploading the file from the import page, using Latin1, CSV, terminated by |, separated by ". I would like to just change the "enclosed by" character, but I keep getting "Invalid parameter for CSV import: Fields enclosed by". I have tried various characters with no success. How can I tell MySQL to accept this format in phpMyAdmin? Setting up these tables is the first step in writing a program that will use uploaded gzipped .csv files to maintain the catalog of an e-commerce site.

    The software I am using produces log files with a variable number of lines of summary information followed by lots of tab delimited data. I am trying to write a function that will read the data from these log files into a data frame ignoring the summary information. The summary information never contains a tab, so the following function works: read.parameters <- function(file.name, ...){ lines <- scan("tmp.log", what="character", sep="\n") first.line <- min(grep("\\t", lines)) return(read.delim(file.name, skip=first.line-1, ...)) } However, these logfiles are quite big, and so reading the file twice is very slow. Surely there is a better way?

But if I where to try and use it on a data frame: a <- data.frame(rep("a",4), 1:4,1:4, c(1,NA,NA,NA)) a t(apply(a, 1, LOCF)) # will make a mess It will turn my data frame into a character matrix.   • Issues rendering image in flash via Context.Response.Write C# asp.

    I am having an issue rendering images in flash via a character array. I am sending it from a webhandler via Context.Response.Write as a Base64CharacterArray. It functions 100% properly in a windows environment, however when using a Mac the image data is not retrieved correctly causing the image to appear incorrectly. It does not affect the data,however as it is rendered properly in a player which accesses the data via a webservice. I am at the end of my rope on this one. Anything will help.     Trying to serialize an XmlDocument to file. The XmlDocument is rather large; however, in the debugger I can see that the InnerXml property has all of the XML blob in it -- it's not truncated there. Here's the code that writes my XmlDocument object to file: // Write that string to a file. var fileStream = new FileStream("AdditionalData.xml", FileMode.OpenOrCreate, FileAccess.Write); xmlDocument.WriteTo(new XmlTextWriter(fileStream, Encoding.UTF8) {Formatting = Formatting.Indented}); fileStream.Close(); The file that's produced here only writes out to line like 5,760 -- it's actually truncated in the middle of a tag! Anyone have any ideas why this would truncate here?
