How to save a complete webpage using the built-in webbrowser in c#

Overall I am trying to write out a webpage to PDF. There is a web service that I can use to convert a file to pdf. So what I am trying to do is save out a webpage from the WebBrowser winforms control. I have already tried writing it out the document stream but that just gives me the html of the page and not the images that are used with it. Another way that I looked into, but have not been successful with, is trying to create an image of the WebBrowser document. I found some examples on the web that utilize the DrawToBitmap function but none of them have worked for me. Any assistance would be grateful.

Moving from VB.NET to C#

I have worked with the VB.NET programming language for the last five years. I want to move to C# as I believe skills are more valued plus it is more similar to other object oriented languages like Java. I was offered a job today working primarily with C#. I explained at the interview that I am a VB.NET Developer and I did the test in VB.NET (though they would of preferred C#). If I decide to accept the position then I will be starting at at the top end of the salary bracket (only very slightly more than I earn now). I will have to help more junior staff in the future who probably have more experience using C# than I do (1-2 years). I used Java and C++ at university. I want to move towards C# in the future as I believe C# skills are more valued based on job advertisements I have seen recently. Has anyone else done this and did it work? i.e. move to a new organisation as a C# Developer at quite a senior level with experience primarily using VB.NET.

I have the TestVisual class that is inherited by the Game class : class TestVisual < Game include MongoMapper::Document end class Game include MongoMapper::Document belongs_to :maestra key :incorrect, Integer key :correct, Integer key :time_to_complete, Integer key :maestra_id, ObjectId timestamps! end As you can see it belongs to Maestra. So I can do Maestra.first.games But I can not to Maestra.first.test_visuals Since I'm working specifically with TestVisuals, that is ideally what I would like to pull. Is this possible with Mongo. If it isn't or if it isn't necessary, is there any other better way to reach the TestVisual object from Maestra and still have it inherit Game ?

Which event to catch for application shut down?

I am using jQueryMobile and phoneGap for a cross-device mobile application. I use html 5 local storage to persist records that worked on by user. I don't know which phoneGap event to catch just before application shut-down so I can make sure data is saved before shutdown completes. Base on suggestion from naughtur, I tried both unload and beforeunload events, neither of them got fired during app shutdown. 3D Box Collision Data Import

I'm trying to implement a collision system using oriented bounding boxes, using a center for the box, it's extents as a 3D Vector and a rotation matrix, which is all stuff I picked up online and seem to be somewhat the standard. Detecting the center is no problem so I'm gonna leave these out here. My problem however is importing the data from a 3D file. Say I've placed a box with 2 units length on each side aligned to the world axis. The logic results here are extents of 1,1,1 and I use an identity matrix for rotation - easy. However I'm stuck when I rotate the box in the 3D program, say 30 degrees each axis. How would I parse the box? I only have these 8 vertices as information, and I guess what I would need to do is to find out the rotation of said box, apply it to the vertices so they are aligned to world axes and then calculate the extents out of that. How do I get the rotation of the box when I only have the vertex information of the box available?

Javascript : random number between variables issue

I've seen the other examples on this site but I just can't get it to work. I'm trying to generate a random number between 2 user input variables on a form. The numbers will always be positive numbers. min = document.getElementById('min').value; max = document.getElementById('max').value; waitTimer = Math.floor(Math.random() * (max - min + 1)) + min; When min = 5 / max = 10, waitTimer is sometimes returning results like 2, 4 and 28 and so on. What am I doing wrong?

Discrete Math and Computing Course

I was recently admitted into a Computing and Software Systems program (basically software engineering) and one of the first courses I'll be taking is called Mathematical Principles of Computing. The course description: "Integrating mathematical principles with detailed instruction in computer programming. Explores mathematical reasoning and discrete structures through object-oriented programming. Includes algorithm analysis, basic abstract data types, and data structures." I'm not a fan of math, but I've been doing well in all my math classes mostly A's and B's ever since I started two years ago, and I've been doing math every quarter - never took a quarter without math - so I've been doing it all in sequence without gaps. However, I'm worried about this class. I've read briefly on what discrete math is and from what my advisor told me, its connection with computer science is that it has alot to do with proving algorithms. One thing that my instructors briefly touched on and never went into detail was proving algorithms, and when I tried, I just wasn't very good at mathematical induction. It's one of the things that I ignored every time it showed up in a homework problem (usually in Calculus III which I'm finishing up right now). Questions: 1. What can I expect from this class? 2. How can I prepare myself for this class? 3. Other tips? Thank you.

resource embedding in asp.net

I have a project which needs to generate PDF documents. I am using iTextSharp. I have a pdf which needs to be read and then appended to. To read the pdf document, I'm using PdfReader(), which accepts many forms, but I can't figure out how to reference a pdf in my webapplication to PdfReader. My host does not allow Binary Serialization (apparently that's bad), so I don't think I can load from an embedded resource. I've tried just using PdfReader("report.pdf"), but it keeps throwing an exception telling me that the file isn't found. I've tried putting the file in the bin directory, root directory, in the same directory as the class, but this still doesn't work. It works if I use a fully qualified path to the pdf document, but I can't use that when I upload it to my hosting provider. Does anyone have any suggestions on how I should do this? Thanks

Creating a multiplatform webapp with HTML5 and Google maps

I'm struggling how to develop a webapp for Android and iOS. My first app was a simple todo app which was easy to test in my browser and it only used html, javascript and css. However, I have to create an app which uses Google Maps Api to get the location. I created a simple html5 page to test which places a marker on a map. It works fine when testing it on my local server. But when I create an .apk file for Android, the app doesn't work. So I'm wondering, isn't it possible to use it like this? Do I have the use the phonegap libraries to use their geolocation library? And if so, how do you handle the development of a webapp in phonegap for multiple OS? Do you have to install an Android environment and an iOS environment to each include the right phonegap library and to test them properly? Update: I use the following code on my webserver and it works perfectly. I am supposed to make this simple program. It produces a multiplication problem, and when the user types the correct answer, it is supposed to produce another question. Instead it goes into an infinite loop and never stops, the answer field and the button go away. Also, I am supposed to make the comment about the users answer, one of 4 different sayings. Without using Arrays how would I do that? Disclaimer On Absence of Code: I have no code to post because I haven't started writing; was looking for more theoretical guidance as I doubt I'll have trouble coding it but am pretty befuddled on what approach(es) would yield best results. I'm not seeking any code, either, though; just direction. Dilemma I'm toying with adding a "magic method"-style feature to a UI I'm building for a client, and it would require intelligently detecting whether or not a string was meant to be JSON as against a simple string. I had considered these general ideas: Look for a sort of arbitrarily-determined acceptable ratio of the frequency of JSON-like syntax (ie. regex to find strings separated by colons; look for colons between curly-braces, etc.) to the number of quote-encapsulated strings + nulls, bools and ints/floats. But the smaller the data set, the more fickle this would get look for key identifiers like opening and closing curly braces... not sure if there even are more easy identifiers, and this doesn't appeal anyway because it's so prescriptive about the kinds of mistakes it could find try incrementally parsing chunks, as those between curly braces, and seeing what proportion of these fractional statements turn out to be valid JSON; this seems like it would suffer less than (1) from smaller datasets, but would probably be much more processing-intensive, and very susceptible to a missing or inverted brace Just curious if the computational folks or algorithm pros out there had any approaches in mind that my semantics-oriented brain might have missed. PS: It occurs to me that natural language processing, about which I am totally ignorant, might be a cool approach; but, if NLP is a good strategy here, it sort of doesn't matter because I have zero experience with it and don't have time to learn & then implement/ this feature isn't worth it to the client.

Add another class to a div with javascript

I have a function that checks the age of a form submission and then returns new content in a div depending on their age. right now I am just using getElementById to replace the html content. BUt I think would work better for me if I could also add a class to a div as well. HI volks, I try to set some hidden form field values with an onclick event. Ok, after I did something like this: document.getElementById('hidden_field').value = 123; I can output the value with the firebug console by entering this: alert(document.getElementById('hidden_field').value); So the values are definitely set. But now when I submit the form, the hidden field values are still empty. Do you have any idea whats going wrong? Thx for your answers.
