• Correlated SQL Join Query from multiple tables

  I have two tables like the ones below. I need to find what exchangeRate was in effect at the dateOfPurchase. I've tried some correlated sub queries, but I'm having difficulty getting the correlated record to be used in the sub queries. I expect a solution will need to follow this basic outline: SELECT only the exchangeRates for the applicable countryCode From 1. SELECT the newest exchangeRate less than the dateOfPurchase Fill in the query table with all the fields from 2. and the purchasesTable. • Updating multiple related tables in SQLite with C#

  Just some background, sorry so long winded. I'm using the System.Data.SQLite ADO.net adapter to create a local sqlite database and this will be the only process hitting the database, so I don't need to worry about concurrency. I'm building the database from various sources and don't want to build this all in memory using datasets or dataadapters or anything like that. I want to do this using SQL (DdCommands). I'm not very good with SQL and complete noob in sqlite. I'm basically using sqlite as a local database / save file structure. The database has a lot of related tables and the data has nothing to do with People or Regions or Districts, but to use a simple analogy, imagine: Region table with auto increment RegionID, RegionName column and various optional columns. District table with auto increment DistrictID, DistrictName, RegionId, and various optional columns Person table with auto increment PersonID, PersonName, DistrictID, and various optional columns So I get some data representing RegionName, DistrictName,PersonName, and other Person related data. The Region, District and/or Person may or may not be created at this point. Once again, not being the greatest with this, my thoughts would be something like: Check to see if Region exists and if so get the RegionID else create it and get RegionID Check to see if District exists and if so get the DistrictID else create it adding in RegionID from above and get DistrictID Check to see if Person exists and if so get the PersonID else create it adding in DistrictID from above and get PersonID Update Person with rest of data. In MS SQL Server I would create a stored procedure to handle all this. Only way I can see to do this with sqlite is a lot of commands. So I'm sure I'm not getting this. I've spent hours looking around on various sites but just don't feel like I'm going down the right road. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

• Project with multiple binaries in Eclipse CDT

  I think it is quite normal to have more than one binary in a project. However, with Eclipse CDT I don't know how to set up the IDE to get things done. I know I can create several projects - one per binary. And I know I can set the dependencies per project. However, I cannot regard them as one project in Eclipse. If I'd like to share the code with a version control system (like svn), each developer has to import the projects separately. What I miss is something like the Solution (sln file) in Visual Studio. Should I create a single project and create the make files by myself? I haven't tried it out yet, but there is this 'project set' which can be ex- and imported. Is this the solution? Can this be put into version control? My goal it to put everything under version control, not only subprojects. I cannot imagine that CDT makes only sense for single-binary applications. How can I work properly?

  Hi Guys, I have a 'dog' Entitiy with an @Id and a @TableGenerator ... @TableGenerator(table = "seq", name = "dog_gen", pkColumnName = "seq_name", valueColumnName="seq_val") @Id @GeneratedValue(strategy = GenerationType.TABLE, generator = "dog_gen") private Long id; ... Is there a way to reuse the same table generator (dog_gen) in other entity? I want to keep the same id sequence in two independent Entities, say dog=1, dog=2, dog=3, cat=4, cat=5, dog=6 and so on... Both entities don't share a common superclass to implement some kind of inheritance with the id property. If I add the @GeneratedValue( generator="dog_gen") on my cat entity, omitting the @TableGenerator declaration throws an Exception saying it can't find the generator when starting the context. • How to disable multiple touches on a ScrollView and UIImage

  I have a scrollview that I am loading images into that the user can touch and play a sound. However, the program is getting confused when I press one image with one finger and then another one with a different finger. It thinks you are pushing the same button again and therefore plays the sound again (so you have two of the same sounds playing at the same time even though you may have pressed a different sound button). I tried setting exclusiveTouch for each UIImage but that didn't seem to work in this case for some reason. What am I missing or is there a better way to do this? Does XPath syntax supports either optional occurrence of an element or setting condition similar to self in previous example to all ancestors between Child and Valid elements?

  I am facing a design problem, here is some basic requirement: Aggregator 1. Separate service for blog,video,images and associations. 2. Each of the service should be completely separate, that means they run on separate tomcat. 3. And each aggregator must be able to query local database and other aggregators 4. Traversal of services must be asynchronous using a ring network. For example, we have a ring like ws1-ws2-ws3-ws4-ws1. Each node represents one type of one aggregator. The traveral goes in this way: the query from ws1 to ws2, and ws1 is waiting for the response from ws2 asynchronously; ws2 to ws3, also ws2 wait for ws3 asynchronously. If ws3 has the data, reply to ws2 then to ws1, then reply. However if ws3 goes away, the traversal should go back to ws2, then to ws1, then go to ws4, then go to ws3 again. then tells ws4 since ws3 fails. The required technology is axis2 and tomcat 6. Does anybody have any clue about it? If it is clear, I can clarify the question more clearly. Thanks very much.

  Say you have 2 share libraries, lib1.so and lib2.so, that both have libcommon.a statically linked into them. Would the compiler complain about ambiguous symbol reference if you were to dynamically link both lib1.so and lib2.so? Or would be the compiler be smart enough to know libcommon symbols are shared between lib1 and lib2 and allow you to dynamically link against both?

  Hey all, I want to export 2 different reports when I click an Export button. The problem is the routine only fires once and I only get one report to print out. Am I doing something wrong? I think it has something to do with the HTTPResponse, but I'm not sure. I'm trying this to match the first two just as a test: "/meadinkent/record/comp_div[.='" & comp_div & "'] and /meadinkent/record/sty_ret_type[.='" & sty_ret_type & "']" Which is failing, saying no nodes are returned. • PHP AJAX mysql event calendar - UI for events spanning multiple days

  I have built a PHP calendar system and have pretty much everything done but not sure how to deal with a UI issue involving how the events that stretched out over a couple of days. I want to be able to stretch an event that stretches over couple of days in a div that spans those days in the calendar. Basically I would like to know how to achieve what these guys have achieved with the event that stretches out from 21st to 22nd with the yellow div background. I have been trying to see how I can do it with PHP but I feel like I might be trying the wrong thing. Perhaps this is done with javascript?

• Mobile iPhone - Multiple buttons in a row

  Hello all: I'm an iPhone developer, but new to web development. I've done some basic HTML websites and made one in iWeb as well. I'm trying to branch out to actual mobile development now, so I checked out Dashcode. Anyway, I'm trying to put a Call Button, Mail Button, and Map Button in horizontal alignment.   My symfony project is divided into several apps. Using the sfDoctrineGuard plugin I'd like to create another app just for login, and redirect to the appropriate app after login. My questions: • Is this advisable or does it go against how sfGuard is supposed to work? • Is there a way to redirect between applications without hardcoding the entire url? Is there a "symfony way" of doing it, or is this not how projects are supposed to function? (All I can find is this thread which is kind of vague on the specifics.)

  Hi all, I am planning on releasing 10 of my song recordings for free but bundled in an iphone app. They are not available on web or itunes or anywhere as of now. I am new to iphone sdk (latest) as you can imagine, so I have been going through the developer documentation, various forums and stackoverflow to learn. Apple's avTouch sample application was a great start. But I want my app to play all the 10 tracks one by one. All the songs are added to resources folder and are named as track1, track2...track10. In the avTouch app code I can see the following 2 parts which is where I think I need to make changes to achieve what I am looking for.
