    I have a schema like : employees (eno, ename, zip, hdate) customers (cno, cnmae, street, zip, phone) zipcodes (zip, city) where zip is pk in zipcodes and fk in other tables. I have to write an update query which updates all the occurence of zipcode 4994 to 1234 throughout the database. update zipcodes,customers,employees set zip = 0 where customers.zip = zipcodes.zip and employees.zip = zipcodes.zip; but i know i am not doing it right. Is there a way to update all the tables zip ina single update query?

  • merge() multiple data frames (do.call ?)

    Hi everyone, here's my very simple question: merge() only takes two data frames as input. I need to merge a series of data frames from a list, using the same keys for every merge operation. Given a list named "test", I want to do something like: do.call("merge", test). I could write some kind of loop, but I'm wondering if there's a standard or built-in way to do this more efficiently. Any advice is appreciated. Thanks!   • magento - multiple tax rates

    I've built a magento site for a Canadian company where each state has a Retail sales tax and a federal tax rate and these rates differ! So, I set up the rates, and the Tax is being calculated correctly, ie the sum of the two tax rates is being calculated correctly. however on selecting the breakdown of tax mode in the admin panel, it would appear that there is something wrong with my setup. Eg. Subtotal $129.99 GST/HST Quebec (5%) $ 16.25 Provincial Sales Tax Quebec (7.5%) Tax $ 16.25 Grand Total $158.23 16.25 is 12% of $129.99 so the tax figure is correct. However it should be displaying as follows: Subtotal $129.99 GST/HST Quebec (5%) $ 6.50 Provincial Sales Tax Quebec (7.5%) $ 9.75 Tax $ 16.25 Grand Total $158.23 Anyone come across this before?     Is it possible to lock a file to stop it being opened while GD library is accessing it? What I am looking to achieve is similar to a database 'serialzable' level of isolation... I want to ensure that only one session/user can access an image at a time to stop a 'dirty read'. May application allows users to add an image of choice to a bigger image. for example the big image is empty Raj & Janet upload their images Raj's session opens the big image. 1 ms later Janet's session opens the big image. Raj's session add's his image and saves the big image 1 ms later Janet's session adds his image and saves its version of the big image. As a result Raj's image is not in the final image as Janet's version overwrote it. I hope that makes it clear enough.

    I have code similar to: if conditionA(x, y, z) then doA() else if conditionB(x, y, z) then doB() ... else if conditionZ(x, y, z) then doZ() else throw ShouldNeverHappenException I would like to validate two things (using static analysis): If all conditions conditionA, conditionB, ..., conditionZ are mutually exclusive (i.e. it is not possible that two or more conditions are true in the same time). All possible cases are covered, i.e. "else throw" statement will never be called. Could you recommend me a tool and/or a way I could (easily) do this? I would appreciate more detailed informations than "use Prolog" or "use Mathematica"... ;-)

  • Troubleshooting source of heavy resource-usage on a server 2008 running multiple sites

    Hi, I am running about 10 asp.net websites on a hosted virtual server. The server runs Server 2008 - each website is backed by its own database running on SQL server 2008 on the same box. Lately the box has seemed really slow. The only kind of discovery i could think of doing was looking in the task manager, where i can see w3wp and sqlserver.exe jumping to 40% cpu usage every 5-10 seconds. What are the steps i can take to determine which of my websites is taking these resources and or what database is getting hit the most? I have of course ssms installed on the machine as well. As you can tell, my sysadmin skills are very very limited - any help would be much appreciated.

  • Connection Refused running multiple environments on Selenium Grid 1.04 via Ubuntu 9.04

    Hello, I'm writing a selenium grid test suite which is going to be run on a series of different machines. I wrote most of it on my macbook but have recently transfered it over to my work machine, which is running ubuntu 9.04. That's actually my first experience with a linux machine, so I may be missing something very simple (I have disabled the firewall though). I haven't been able to get the multienvironment thing working at all, and I've been trying and manual reviewing for a while. Any recommendations and help would be greatly, greatly appreciated!   • Calculating multiple column average in SQLite3

    I need to average some values in a row-wise fashion, rather than a column-wise fashion. (If I were doing a column-wise average, I could just use avg()). My specific application of this requires me ignore NULLs in averaging. It's pretty straightforward logic, but seems awfully difficult to do in SQL. Is there an elegant way of doing my calculation? I'm using SQLite3, for what it's worth. Details If you need more details, here's an illustration: I have a a table with a survey: | q1 | q2 | q3 | ... | q144 | |----|-------|-------|-----|------| | 1 | 3 | 7 | ... | 2 | | 4 | 2 | NULL | ... | 1 | | 5 | NULL | 2 | ... | 3 | (Those are just some example values and simple column names. The valid values are 1 through 7 and NULL.) I need to calculate some averages like so: q7 + q33 + q38 + q40 + ... + q119 / 11 as domain_score_1 q10 + q11 + q34 + q35 + ... + q140 / 13 as domain_score_2 ... q2 + q5 + q13 + q25 + ... + q122 / 12 as domain_score_14 ...but i need to pull out the nulls and average based on the non-nulls. So, for domain_score_1 (which has 11 items), I would need to do: Input: 3, 5, NULL, 7, 2, NULL, 3, 1, 5, NULL, 1 (3 + 5 + 7 + 2 + 3 + 1 + 5 + 1) / (11 - 3) 27 / 8 3.375 A simple algorithm I'm considering is: Input: 3, 5, NULL, 7, 2, NULL, 3, 1, 5, NULL, 1 Coalesce each value to 0 if NULL: 3, 5, 0, 7, 2, 0, 3, 1, 5, 0, 1 Sum: 27 Get the number of non-zeros by converting values 0 to 1 and sum: 3, 5, 0, 7, 2, 0, 3, 1, 5, 0, 1 1, 1, 0, 1, 1, 0, 1, 1, 1, 0, 1 8 Divide those two numbers 27 / 8 3.375 But that seems like a lot more programming than this should take. Is there an elegant way of doing this that I'm not aware of? Update: Unless I'm misunderstanding something, avg() won't work for this. Example of what I would want to do: select avg(q7, q33, q38, ..., q119) from survey; Output: SQL error near line 3: wrong number of arguments to function avg()

  • Project with multiple binaries in Eclipse CDT

    I think it is quite normal to have more than one binary in a project. However, with Eclipse CDT I don't know how to set up the IDE to get things done. I know I can create several projects - one per binary. And I know I can set the dependencies per project. However, I cannot regard them as one project in Eclipse. If I'd like to share the code with a version control system (like svn), each developer has to import the projects separately. What I miss is something like the Solution (sln file) in Visual Studio. Should I create a single project and create the make files by myself? I haven't tried it out yet, but there is this 'project set' which can be ex- and imported. Is this the solution? Can this be put into version control? My goal it to put everything under version control, not only subprojects. I cannot imagine that CDT makes only sense for single-binary applications. How can I work properly?

  • Video packet capture over multiple IP cameras

    Hello We are working on a C language application which is simple RTSP/RTP client to record video from Axis a number of Cameras . We launch a pthread for each of the camera which establishes the RTP session and begins to record the packets captured suing the recvfrom() call... A single camera single pthread records fine for well over a day without issues.. but testing with more cameras available,about 25(so 25 pthreads), the recording to file goes fine for like 15 to 20 mins and then the recording just stops ..the application still keeps running .. Its been over a month and a half we have been trying with varied implementations but nothing seems to help .. Please provide suggestions.. We are using CentOS 5 platform

  • How to configure for multiple gettext domains with babel, pylons, setuptools

    While trying to internationalize my pylons web and mobile application, 'myapp', Im finding that I would like to keep separate gettext pot files for separate domains. There will be common msgid values for both web and mobile users and there will also be unique msgid values that are only translated for web or mobile users. Im expecting localized msgstrs for mobile users will be different (more terse) than the localized msgstrs for normal web users. The environment is like: the same myapp/controllers will be used for both mobile and web requests. mobile users will have their pages rendered from myapp/templates/mobile normal web users will have their pages rendered from myapp/templates/web What happens by default: I end up with myapp/i18n/myapp.pot and myapp/i18n/*/LC_MESSAGES/myapp.[pm]o files that contain msgid values from controllers and both sets of templates. What Im looking for: to set the gettext domain for the user's session when I decide which templates will render their responses. myapp's msgids from controllers and web template extract into myapp/i18n/web.pot myapp's msgids from controllers and mobile templates extract into myapp/i18n/mobile.pot babel's init_catalog, update_catalog, and compile_catalog runs deal with these separate domains and create separate po and mo localization files. Where Im lost: configuring myapp's setup.cfg and setup.py to deal with separate gettext domains so that I can direct extracted msgid values into a particular pot file based on the path of the python and template files.

I want to use two expressions: '=Ceiling(RowNumber(Nothing)/3)' and '=Cint(Fields!kpilevel.Value)' They work both individually, but when I insert them together only 1 works. My question is, how do I connect the field set_of_bads to set_it_belongs_to in the bads table. This way if I want to get the entire set of data that is set1 by calling on the reports table I can do it. Example: hey reports table.. bring up the row that has the report_id 123. Okay thank you.. Now get all the rows from bads that has the set_of_bads value from the row with the report_id 123. Thanks.

    Just some background, sorry so long winded. I'm using the System.Data.SQLite ADO.net adapter to create a local sqlite database and this will be the only process hitting the database, so I don't need to worry about concurrency. I'm building the database from various sources and don't want to build this all in memory using datasets or dataadapters or anything like that. I want to do this using SQL (DdCommands). I'm not very good with SQL and complete noob in sqlite. I'm basically using sqlite as a local database / save file structure. The database has a lot of related tables and the data has nothing to do with People or Regions or Districts, but to use a simple analogy, imagine: Region table with auto increment RegionID, RegionName column and various optional columns. District table with auto increment DistrictID, DistrictName, RegionId, and various optional columns Person table with auto increment PersonID, PersonName, DistrictID, and various optional columns So I get some data representing RegionName, DistrictName,PersonName, and other Person related data. The Region, District and/or Person may or may not be created at this point. Once again, not being the greatest with this, my thoughts would be something like: Check to see if Region exists and if so get the RegionID else create it and get RegionID Check to see if District exists and if so get the DistrictID else create it adding in RegionID from above and get DistrictID Check to see if Person exists and if so get the PersonID else create it adding in DistrictID from above and get PersonID Update Person with rest of data. In MS SQL Server I would create a stored procedure to handle all this. Only way I can see to do this with sqlite is a lot of commands. So I'm sure I'm not getting this. I've spent hours looking around on various sites but just don't feel like I'm going down the right road. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

    Hello, My first post here. I want to make a horizontal menu with submenu's sliding down on mouseover. I know I could use jQuery but this is to practice my javascript skills. If i go now over menu B the interval applied to A is now applied to B. There are now 2 interval functions applied to B. The one originally for A and a new one triggered by the mouseover on B. If I would go to A all the intervals are now applied to A. I have been searching for hours but and I am completely stuck. Thanks in advance.

  • Handling update errors in multiple records in the TClientDataset's ReconcileError method

    I'm trying to use the ReconcileError event to allow the user to correct the data after an update error which occurred in a specific record among others. Example: I have a dataset with one field and 3 records, this field have a unique constraint on the database, then I change one value to conflict when it reaches the database, then I call ApplyUpdates on the Dataset. This will generate an error (violation of unique constraint) in the provider and abort the applyupdates process, returning raAbort in the Action var of the ReconcileError method. In the ReconcileError method I tryied to use: Action := HandleReconcileError(aDataSet, UpdateKind, E); ** EDIT ** After debugging and dumping the DataSet records which were returned from the server, I noticed that there are 2 records in this Dataset, the first is the Old record and the second have all the changes I made to the first record. I'm a bit confused, will I always get this DataSet with 2 records? I thought that it should have only one record with the Old/New values. Thanks.

Output: <abc a="1"><val>0.25</val></abc> <abc a="2"><val>0.25</val></abc> <abc a="3"><val>0.35</val></abc> I have around 200K lines in a file in the Input format, how can I quickly convert this into output format.
