  • How do I set permissions on a Server 2003 folder

    Hi There, In my part time position as entire IT department at my Office ( I'm a MCSD developer normally ) I have been asked to change a shared folder. Only I don't really understand all the Shared / Security options. I have a folder that must be accessed by 2 people in the company (and no one else). They both must have read/write/edit and change access. They must be able to read/write/edit each others files; existing or newly created. Should be easy but I'm a bit overwhelemd by all the choices.   • How to string multiple TextReaders together?

    I have 3 TextReaders -- a combination of StreamReaders and StringReaders. Conceptually, the concatenation of them is a single text document. I want to call a method (not under my control) that takes a single TextReader. Is there any built-in or easy way to make a concatenating TextReader from multiple TextReaders? (I could write my own TextReader subclass, but it looks like a fair amount of work. In that case, I'd just write them all out to a temp file and then open it with a single StreamReader.) Is there an easy solution to this that I'm missing?

  • XmlDocument.WriteTo truncates resultant file

    Trying to serialize an XmlDocument to file. The XmlDocument is rather large; however, in the debugger I can see that the InnerXml property has all of the XML blob in it -- it's not truncated there. Here's the code that writes my XmlDocument object to file: // Write that string to a file. var fileStream = new FileStream("AdditionalData.xml", FileMode.OpenOrCreate, FileAccess.Write); xmlDocument.WriteTo(new XmlTextWriter(fileStream, Encoding.UTF8) {Formatting = Formatting.Indented}); fileStream.Close(); The file that's produced here only writes out to line like 5,760 -- it's actually truncated in the middle of a tag! Anyone have any ideas why this would truncate here?

  • HSQLDB and in-memory files

    Is it possible to setup HSQLDB in a way, so that the files with the db information are written into memory instead of using actual files? I want to use hsqldb to export some data structures together with hibernate mappings. Is is, however, not possible to write temporary files, so that I need to generate the files in-memory and return a stream with their contents as a response. Setting hsqldb to use nio seems not to be a solution, because there is no way to get hold of those files before they get written onto the filesystem. What I'm thinking of is a protocol handler for hsqldb, but I didn't find a suitable solution yet. Just to describe in other words: A hack solution would be to pass hsqldb a stream or several streams. It would then during its operation write data into those streams. After all data is written, the user of the db could then use those streams to send it back over the network.

An example: test2((X, Xs)) :- write(X), nl, test2(Xs). test2((X)) :- write(X), nl. test :- read(W), test2(W). ?- test. |: a, b(c), d(e(f)), g. a b(c) d(e(f)) g yes Actually this is what I want to achieve but it seems suspicious. Is there any other way to treat a conjunction of terms as a list in Prolog?

    I have a form that contains 5 check boxes. The user may select one or more of these check boxes. The user may select 2 and leave 3 unchecked or select 4 and leave one unchecked and so on, in that case how can I write the php/mysql code that will insert the form data into the database. With just one selection it's easy, I would do: $checkbox_value = $_POST['i_agree']; mysql_query("INSERT INTO terms (user, pass, conditions) VALUES ('$user','$pass','$checkbox_value')"); But how can I write this when there are multiple check box options and only one or more of them will be checked? I want to insert them all in one column called "tags" separated by commas.

    i have some html files as part of a regular website that has been ported over to asp.net mvc.     I have several custom controls (some kind of frames for content and layout management, like wrap panel), and would like to write unit tests for them. It's hard to find any good examples except Silverlight control toolkit, which has some helper classes to do unit tests and it's quite complicated. For MVVM classes it's easy to write tests because they don't use SL dependency system and infrastructure. Questions: how to unit test DepedenyProperty, what do I need to test how to test attached property do I test bindings with theme or UserControl, like simple textblock content binding, or command/event binding in MVVM with UserControl what else do I test in my custom controls, beside my business logic any good tutorial to achieve tests like those in control toolkit How do I start? Is SL controls toolkit only option for learning? For testing framework i'm using one from control toolkit, and for continuus integration on TFS build server I planned to use Statlight (from codeplex). Any advice on that?

  • Canonicalizing XML in Ruby

    I'm working on a SAML gateway using Ruby/Rails and I'm attempting to write some code that validates the xml digital signature of the incoming SAML response against the x509 cert of the originating service. My problem: the signature depends on a canonicalized version of the XML that is hashed and then signed and I'm having trouble finding a ruby lib/gem that will canonicalize XML per the spec. I found a super old gem on rubyforge that is a mess but I'd be more interested if something like nokogiri supported this kind of functionality (from the nokogiri docs, it doesn't). I've googled extensively but thought I'd ask around here to see if anyone has any good insights before I go and try to write my own version or rework the existing c14n-r library.

    Hi, I am working on a web site with several other developers and we have had problems where people commit JavaScript code with AJAX calls that use URL's relative to the site root. An example would be /Home/Index which will not work if the site is hosted in a virtual directory. To get round the problem we use a $.url() method to convert it to a full path, e.g. $("#container").load($.url("/Home/Index")) I am trying to write a unit test that will search each JavaScript file and find places where the $.url method is not being used. The only problem is that I cannot seem to write a regex expression to do this. I have tried the following: (?!\$\.url\()"(/\w*)+" But this does not work. I cannot find a way to say that I don't want the $.url in front. Does anyone know if this is possible? Note that I need regular expressions that are compatible with .NET Thanks.

    I have Decimal field in SQLserver 2005 table, Price decimal(18, 4) if I write 12 it will be converted to 12.0000, if I write 12.33 it will be converted into 12.3300. Always it's putting zero to the right of the decimal point in the count of Scale Part(4). I was using these in SQL Server 2000, it was not behaving like this, in SQL Server 2000 if I put 12.5 it will be stored as 12.5 not as 12.5000 what SQLServer2005 do. My Question is how to stop SQL Server 2005 from putting zeros to the right of the decimal point?

    I need to write my next project using ExtJs. It's a nice Javascript lib but I don't fully understand the idea behind it. Take the docs page for example: http://www.extjs.com/deploy/dev/docs/ Am I supposed to write my web applications with extjs like that? One page that should never be refreshed, and everything getting done by AJAX? How do you debug such applications if getting to the right place may take a lot of 'clicking' and working with it. You cannot fix the bug and hit refresh in the browser to see the results. Any suggestions?

  • Dynamic domain methods missing from grails service when injected into java service in grails app.

    I had the idea that I would write my GroovyDao as a grails service. Next I would write a MyJavaService in java and locate it in the java sources dir in my grails app. MyJavaService contains a instance reference to groovyDao for spring injection. I would wire up in resources.groovy the MyJavaService with a groovyDao = ref("GroovyDao"). Everything starts up fine. However if I make call to MyJavaService any Domain method like Domain.list() returns a Method not found error. Any help is appreciated.

    Hi, I have to write a macro that get as parameter some variable, and for each two sequential bits with "1" value replace it with 0 bit. For example: 10110100 will become 10000100. And, 11110000-00000000 11100000-100000000 I'm having a troubles writing that macro. I've tried to write a macro that get wach bit and replace it if the next bit is the same (and they both 1), but it works only for 8 bits and it's very not friendly... P.S. I need a macro because I'm learning C and this is an exercise i found and i couldn't solve it myself. i know i can use function to make it easily... but i want to know how to do it with macros.     I have quite a few objects in my system that implement the PHP SPL Iterator interface. As I write them I also write tests. I know that writing tests is generally NOT a cut 'n paste job. But, when it comes to testing classes that implement Standard PHP Library interfaces, surely it makes sense to have a few script snippets that can be borrowed and dropped in to a Test class - purely to test that particular interface.   • Is it possible to use an input within a <label> field?

    I have a bunch of optional "write-in" values for a survey I'm working on. These are basically a radio button with a textbox within the answer field - the idea being that you would toggle the button and write something into the box. What I'd like to do is have the radio button toggled whenever a user clicks in the text field - this seems like a use-case that makes a lot of sense. Doing this: <input type="radio" id="radiobutton"><label for="radiobutton">Other: <input type="text" id="radiobutton_other"></label> works fine in Chrome (and I am guessing, other WebKit browsers as well), but there are weird selection issues in Firefox, so I'm assuming its a non-standard practice that I should stay away from. Is there a way to replicate this functionality without using JavaScript? I have an onclick function that will work, but we're trying to make our site usable for people who might have NoScript-type stuff running.
