  • No compatible network card

    Motherboard: Asus K8N-E Deluxe with onboard NIC (nVidia nForce) Secondary NIC: I've tried using a standard NIC (Device Manager displays this as D-Link DFE-538TX 10/100, but under manufacturer in the General tab of the properties in Windows it states Realtek Semiconductor Corp.) I have downloaded ESXi 4.0.0 build 208167 and cooked to disc. I've booted from it, the .TGZ modules load from the yellow and grey screen, the progress bar reaches to about 60% and like a second later the screen changes and I have the following information on screen; "No compatible network adapter found. Please consult the HCG." I've checked the HCG and found that my motherboard is listed. I also get the same message with the secondary NIC. Any ideas please?

  • per pixel based collision detection.

    I was wondering if anyone had any ideas on how to get per pixel collision detection for the android. I saw that the andEngine has great collision detection on rotation as well but couldn't see where the actual detection happened per pixel. Also noticed a couple solutions for java, could these be replicated for use with the Android SDK? Maybe someone here has a clean piece of code I could look at to help understand what is going on with per pixel detection and also why when rotating it is a different process.

How can I know what temp3 is, and why it is so high? The system is really stable (which I guess it wouldn't be at those temps). Also, note the really decent core temps, which suggest a healthy system as well. My guess is that the readout is wrong. On another computer it reported temperatures below 0 degrees centigrade, which was not possible, considering the environment temperature of ~22-24. Is this some known bug/issue? Should I try some Windows programs (like CPU-Z) and see they give similar results?

    I am using ubuntu 10.04 LTS in my lenovo laptop and have a android ICS device. I want to create a wifi-hotspot in ubuntu, which I can later use for connecting android device. I need this setup for capturing the packets from android device and later analysing them using wireshark in my ubuntu. I tried to create a new hotspot using "Create a new wireless Network" wizard from network manager applet, but for some reason the following happens. It breaks the existing internet connection(either the WLAN, or ethernet) Its not visible in the list of available WIFI hotspots in the android device.     I'm developing a 2D game for Android and i'm using the framework which has been told in the book which named Beginning Android Games by Mario Zechner.So my framework is well designed and using OpenGL 1.1.It's similar to libgdx.   • Targus USB-to-RS232 not working with Linux?

    I have the Targus PA088 USB to RS232 converter, but it seems that it does not work with linux. Its RX and TX lights are flashing, but I can't see the data in minicom/picocom. When using it with Windows and hterm, everything's fine. Any idea what could be the problem?   • What does the fan speed sensor really report?

    I have an overheating issue on my netbook (ASUS EeePC 1015PW), which I'm trying to troubleshoot. Using lm-sensors while overheating gave me this output : acpitz-virtual-0 Adapter: Virtual device temp1: +86.0°C (crit = +100.0°C) eeepc-isa-0000 Adapter: ISA adapter fan1: 4089 RPM coretemp-isa-0000 Adapter: ISA adapter Core 0: +82.0°C (crit = +100.0°C) Core 1: +80.0°C (crit = +100.0°C) But I can't hear the fan. So I enabled manual pwm controling and set the fan to full speed, and after a few minutes I got this output : acpitz-virtual-0 Adapter: Virtual device temp1: +65.0°C (crit = +100.0°C) eeepc-isa-0000 Adapter: ISA adapter fan1: 4016 RPM coretemp-isa-0000 Adapter: ISA adapter Core 0: +62.0°C (crit = +100.0°C) Core 1: +58.0°C (crit = +100.0°C) And this time I could hear the fan spinning. So there's quite obviously an issue with either fan control or fan monitoring. Hence the question : what kind of physical information does the fan sensor really report? Thank you PS. I should have added that the computer is a small, hard-to-disassemble netbook, so I can't and don't want to try experiments like "block the fan and see what the sensor reports".
