  • Is there a Moria like theme for Visual Studio 2010?

    Is there some cool Moria like theme for Visual Studio 2010? Mine is highlighting gray font with gray background! I just can't configure it on Tools-Options-Environment-Fonts and Colors menu. Visual Studio doesn't seem to show an item for this "highlighting keyword/tag system". You select a variable on variable called myVar, and it highlights all with the same name but with a grayer color and gray background. I just can't read it and can't set it.

  • MySQL.. search using Fulltext or using Like? What is better?

    I'm working on a search feature for my application, I want to search all articles in the database. As of now, I'm using a LIKE in my queries, but I want to add a "Related Articles" feature, sort of like what SO has in the sidebar (which I see as a problem if I use Like). What's better to use for MySQL searching, Fulltext or Like... or anything else I might not know about? Also, I'm using the Kohana Framework, so If anybody knows an easy way to do fulltext matching using the query builder, I'd appreciate that. Thanks.

    I have a project that is being written on top of the Grape API framework in ruby. (https://github.com/intridea/grape) The problem I'm having is that Thinking-Sphinx vs. Sunspot (Gems used to interface with each search index) have worlds different benchmarks. View the Benchmark Here We're trying to develop something that is quick and easy to deploy (Solr needs Java). The issues we see right now is mainly that Solr is slower through Sunspot gem and Sphinx is faster through Thinking-Sphinx because Solr is HTTP REST calls where Sphinx is sockets. Anyone have any experience in either and can explain pitfalls / bonuses? Note: Needs to be deployable to Rails AND non-rails apps (Hence Sunspot). Thanks!

I need it to be able to work with LINQ, because I want to add additional where clauses to the final query that gets run. I am looking for the best open source .NET search engine that works with LINQ. I like lucene.net but the problem is the LINQ interface (LINQ to Lucene) hasn't been updated since 2008. Are there any good options out there?

I was able to get Hibernate Search to work without Spring, but I'm having a problem integrating it with Spring. Any help would be much appreciated.     I have a long string and a set of <end-index, string> list like the following: long_sentence = "This is a long long long long sentence" indices = [[6, "is"], [8, "is a"], [18, "long"], [23, "long"]] An element 6, "is" indicates that 6 is the end index of the word "is" in the string. I want to get the following string in the end: >> print long_sentence This .... long ......... long sentence" I tried an approach like this: temp = long_sentence for i in indices: temp = temp[:int(i[0]) - len(i[1])] + '.'*(len(i[1])+1) + temp[i[0]+1:] While this seems to be working, it is taking exceptionally long time (more than 6 hours on 5000 strings inside a 300 MB file). Is there a way to speed this up?

    I have a program that generates and outputs a sequence of simple sample math homework tasks, like: 1 + 1 = ... 3 + 3 = ... 2 + 5 = ... 3 + 7 = ... 4 + 2 = ... a sequence can be quite long, and I'd like to save space when this sequence is printed by converting it as follows: 1 + 1 = ... 3 + 7 = ... 3 + 3 = ... 4 + 2 = ... 2 + 5 = ... that is, wrapping the lines into the two or more columns. I was expecting the column linux utility to do the job using the -c N option witn N=2, however, it still outputs the lines in one column whatever the N is. How would I do the column-ifying of the sequence of lines?

  • How to use LINQ to SQL to create ranked search results?

    I am looking for a way to use l2s to return ranked result based on keywords. I would like to take a keyword and be able to search the table for that keyword using .contains(). The trick that I haven't been able to figure out is how to get a count of how many times that keyqord appears, and then .OrderByDescending() based on that count. So if i had some thing like: string keyword = "SomeKeyword"; IQueryable<Article> searchResults = from a in GenesisRepository.Article where a.Body.Contains(keyword) select a; What is the best way to order searchResults based on the number of times keyword appears in a.Body?     Hi, I'm working on a small academic research about extremely long and complicated functions in the Linux kernel. I'm trying to figure out if there is a good reason to write 600 or 800 lines-long functions. For that purpose, I would like to find a tool that can extract a function from a .c file, so I can run some automated tests on the function. For example, If I have the function cifs_parse_mount_options() within the file connect.c, I'm seeking a solution that would roughly work like: extract /fs/cifs/connect.c cifs_parse_mount_options and return the 523 lines of code(!) of the function, from the opening braces to the closing braces. Of course, any way of manipulating existing software packages like gcc to do that, would be most helpful too. I was wanting to utilize syntax files made for other programs so I could have a large collection already. I was wondering if there was any kind of universal syntax file format much in the same sense as .odt files. I heard of one once in a forum, it had a website, but I can't remember it now.     I need to extract certain bits of a byte and covert the extract bits back to a hex value. Example (the value of the byte is 0xD2) : 76543210 bit position 11010010 is 0xD2 Bit 0-3 defines the channel which is 0010b is 0x2 Bit 4-5 defines the controller which is 01b is 0x1 Bit 6-7 defines the port which is 11b is 0x3 I somehow need to get from the byte is 0xD2 to channel is 0x2, controller is 0x1, port is 0x3 I googled allot and found the functions pack/unpack, vec and sprintf. But I'm scratching by head how to use the functions to achieve this. Any idea how to achieve this in Perl ?

    Hi, all, I have use core data in app, I have definite a class that most like as follows: @interface Master : NSManagedObject { } @property (nonatomic, retain) NSSet* Details; .... the entity Master contains a property 'Details' that is relate to another table, this is typical Master-Details relationship, I trace the app , but I find a issue that the property 'Details' value was construct even it never be invoked ..... but I consider that the core data 'should' use some lazy mechanism to improve performance, or maybe I miss some configure step ? because the Master entity contains at least five 'Child' table properties , I have to consider this problem before use the core data .... any help ? thanks for your time!

  • How to grab the lines AFTER a matched line in python

    Hi All, I am an amateur using Python on and off for some time now. Sorry if this is a silly question, but I was wondering if anyone knew an easy way to grab a bunch of lines if the format in the input file is like this: " Heading 1 Line 1 Line 2 Line 3 Heading 2 Line 1 Line 2 Line 3 " I won't know how many lines are after each heading, but I want to grab them all. All I know is the name, or a regular expression pattern for the heading. The only way I know to read a file is the "for line in file:" way, but I don't know how to grab the lines AFTER the line I'm currently on. Hope this makes sense, and thanks for the help!
