  • admin can't view non admin user's folder in osx

    - by adolf garlic
I'm trying to add a new keyboard layout for a non admin user on my mac. I had thought that the keyboard layout would be applied for all users when I added it to mine but alas no. I cannot get into the Users\\library\keyboard layouts folder, as it won't let me (but I'm an admin FFS!) I even went into 'get info' and set it to 'everyone read and write' but it still tells me that I don't have permission How on earth can I update the other user's keyboard layout folder?

  • Choose between multiple keyboard layouts for different users in GDM3

    - by Daniel Wagner
I am trying to set up a computer with multiple users each with different preferred keyboard layouts. The biggest sticking point right now is allowing each to log in comfortably. GDM used to offer a way to choose keyboard layout, but I can't discover how to set this up in GDM3. All the solutions I found when Googling this problem suggest changing the keyboard layout in xorg.conf, but that only sets a different single layout and still does not seem to allow me to change the layout between multiple choices. How can I allow multiple layouts when logging in?

  • Do large corporations block jQuery content on web pages?

    - by Max Vernon
We are currently redesigning our website. The company we've hired to do the redesign is advocating the use of jQuery to render the pages dynamically. Our SEO specialist is under the impression that many larger corporations may have jQuery blocked in their proxies to prevent their users from visiting sites like Facebook. Is this something you are aware of? Forgive me if this is off topic for SF.SE!

  • How to restore pre-windows-8 Alt+Shift keyboard behavior?

    - by SandRock
Before Windows 8, the Alt+Shift shortcut changed the input method (keyboard layout) for the current app. This permitted to map an input method to each app. For example I could keep the default layout for my apps where I write in english and switch to a french layout in apps where I write in french. This was working great: each app had his keyboard layout. Now with Windows 8 the Alt+Shift key has a global behavior for all applications. This meens I have to change my input method almost each time I change from app to app. Is there a way to restore the pre-Windows-8 behavior? Or is there another shortcut?

  • Jquery Smart Wizard freezing up

    - by Andrew
    I'm using IE 8 and the jquery smart wizard version 3.2.0. I've noticed when enclose the smart wizard within an additional <div> tag (with the intent of displaying the wizard within a jquery dialog popup), the wizard will not advance steps when a function is specified for the onLeaveStep event. And now for the code: The javascript setting up the wizard: $('#wizard').smartWizard({ transitionEffect: 'slideleft', onLeaveStep: leaveAStepCallback, onFinish: onFinishCallback}); Simple functions associated with the events for the wizard: // wizard functions function leaveAStepCallback(obj) { // Get current step var step_num = obj.attr('rel'); // get the current step number } function onFinishCallback() { alert('Finish Called'); } function showStep(obj) { // Get current step var step_num = obj.attr('rel'); // get the current step number } And the HTML markup (I removed the step content within the <p> tags for brevity - this resulted it the same lack of functionality as if there was content within, so that can be ruled out) <div id="wizDialog"> <div id="wizard" class="swMain"> <ul> <li><a href="#step-1"> <label class="stepNumber">1</label> <span class="stepDesc"> Step 1<br /> <small>Step 1 - </small> </span> </a></li> <li><a href="#step-2"> <label class="stepNumber">2</label> <span class="stepDesc"> Step 2<br /> <small>Step 2 - </small> </span> </a></li> <li><a href="#step-3"> <label class="stepNumber">3</label> <span class="stepDesc"> Step 3<br /> <small>Step 3 - </small> </span> </a></li> <li><a href="#step-4"> <label class="stepNumber">4</label> <span class="stepDesc"> Step 4<br /> <small>Step 4 - </small> </span> </a></li> <li><a href="#step-5"> <label class="stepNumber">5</label> <span class="stepDesc"> Step 5<br /> <small>Step 5 - </small> </span> </a></li> <li><a href="#step-6"> <label class="stepNumber">6</label> <span class="stepDesc"> Step 6<br /> <small>Step 6 - </small> </span> </a></li> <li><a href="#step-7"> <label class="stepNumber">7</label> <span class="stepDesc"> Step 7<br /> <small>Step 7 - </small> </span> </a></li> <li><a href="#step-8"> <label class="stepNumber">8</label> <span class="stepDesc"> Step 8<br /> <small>Step 8 - </small> </span> </a></li> </ul> <div id="step-1"> <h2 class="StepTitle">Step 1 Content</h2> <p> </p> </div> <div id="step-2"> <h2 class="StepTitle">Step 2 Content</h2> <p> </p> </div> <div id="step-3"> <h2 class="StepTitle">Step 3 Content</h2> <p> </p> </div> <div id="step-4"> <h2 class="StepTitle">Step 4 Content</h2> <p> </p> </div> <div id="step-5"> <h2 class="StepTitle">Step 5 Content</h2> <p> </p> </div> <div id="step-6"> <h2 class="StepTitle">Step 6 Content</h2> <p> </p> </div> <div id="step-7"> <h2 class="StepTitle">Step 7 Content</h2> <p> </p> </div> <div id="step-8"> <h2 class="StepTitle">Step 8 Content</h2> <p> </p> </div> </div> </div> Has anyone had similar results with this? Or have an explanation why the wizard will not work when nested within additional <div> tags?

  • Using jQuery to slideToggle a group of Table Rows

    - by CCC
    Hi. I'm fairly new to javaScript and jQuery, so hopefully this will be a quick fix. I need to display a table containing data that can be grouped into several categories, and I'd like to implement a slideToggle that hides/reveals all of the observations in each given category. The code below should (ideally) display a table with 4 columns and 9 rows, with every group of 3 rows preceded by a green "Section i" row. I would like each Section header to work as a slideToggle that expands or collapses all of the rows beneath it. Right now, nothing is collapsing. Any thoughts? <head> <style type="text/css"> td{padding:5px;} </style> <script type="text/javascript" src="js/jquery.js"></script> <script type="text/javascript"> $(document).ready(function(){ $(".flip").click(function(){ $(this).next(".section").slideToggle(); }); }); </script> </head> <body> <p> <table id="main_table"> <thead> <tr class="firstline"> <th>Column1</th> <th>Column2</th> <th>Column3</th> <th>Column4</th> </tr> </thead> <tbody> <tr style="background-color:green; color:white"> <td colspan="4" class="flip"> Section 1 </td> </tr> <div class="section"> <tr> <td>item 111</td> <td>item 112</td> <td>item 113</td> <td>item 114</td> </tr> <tr> <td>item 121</td> <td>item 122</td> <td>item 123</td> <td>item 124</td> </tr> <tr> <td>item 131</td> <td>item 132</td> <td>item 133</td> <td>item 134</td> </tr> </div> <tr style="background-color:green; color:white"> <td colspan="4" class="flip"> Section 2 </td> </tr> <div class="section"> <tr> <td>item 211</td> <td>item 212</td> <td>item 213</td> <td>item 214</td> </tr> <tr> <td>item 221</td> <td>item 222</td> <td>item 223</td> <td>item 224</td> </tr> <tr> <td>item 231</td> <td>item 232</td> <td>item 233</td> <td>item 234</td> </tr> </div> <tr style="background-color:green; color:white"> <td colspan="4" class="flip"> Section 3 </td> </tr> <div class="section"> <tr> <td>item 311</td> <td>item 312</td> <td>item 313</td> <td>item 314</td> </tr> <tr> <td>item 321</td> <td>item 322</td> <td>item 323</td> <td>item 324</td> </tr> <tr> <td>item 331</td> <td>item 332</td> <td>item 333</td> <td>item 334</td> </tr> </div> </tbody> </table> </p> </body>

  • How to find out memory layout of your data structure implementation on Linux 64bit machine

    - by ajay
In this article, http://cacm.acm.org/magazines/2010/7/95061-youre-doing-it-wrong/fulltext the author talks about the memory layouts of 2 data structures - The Binary Heap and the B-Heap and compares how one has better memory layout than the other. http://deliveryimages.acm.org/10.1145/1790000/1785434/figs/f5.jpg http://deliveryimages.acm.org/10.1145/1790000/1785434/figs/f6.jpg I want to get hands on experience on this. I have an implementation of a N-Ary Tree and I want to find out the memory layout of my data structure. What is the best way to come up with a memory layout like the one in the article? Secondly, I think it is easier to identify the memory layout if it is an array based implementation. If the implementation of a Tree uses pointers then what Tools do we have or what kind of approach is required to map it's memory layout? Thanks!

  • Enable PyGTK Eventbox motion-notify-event while is a Layout child

  • Setting the gap of layout

    - by Kamo
I usually set the layout like this where I specify the gap inside the VerticalLayout tag <s:Group> <s:layout> <s:VerticalLayout gap="10"/> </s:layout> </s:Group> I'm trying to specify the layout as a property of the Group like this <s:Group layout="{new VerticalLayout()}"> </s:Group> but not sure how to specify the gap in this case. Couldn't spot something in the documentation to show if it's possible to include gap as a parameter when creating new VerticalLayout or what its position would be.

  • jQuery FullCalendar - trying to add event and display on calendar failed

    - by Michael Mao
Hi all: I am trying to work out how to use Adam Shaw's brilliant jQuery plugin - FullCalendar to add an event on our project : online balloon ordering page under development Basically, if you click on "step1" and choose "pickup in shop" , the page will bring you to the calendar view, where you could click on the upper-right corner at the "week" button to alter the view to a weekly basis. What I am trying to achieve is when client clicks on an empty slot in a day, she can create her event on that spot. Here is my code in custom.js: dayClick: function() { var n = parseInt(this.className.match(/fc\-slot(\d+)/)[1]); alert('a day has been clicked on slot ' + n); //trying to add an event using the renderEvent() method. $('#' + type + 'Calendar').fullCalendar('renderEvent', { title : 'my pickup slot', start : new Date(y,m,d, 12, 30), end : new Date(y,m,d, 13, 00), }); } It tries to use the FullCalendar's API method renderEvent so to create such an event. However, although my code runs without error and I can see the prompt saying which slot has been clicked, It wouldn't render such an new event on calendar. Is there another way to do this or my code does something wrong? Any suggestion would be much appreciated, thanks a lot in advance.

  • jQuery FullCalendar JSON date issue

    - by durilai
I am integrating jQuery plugin FullCalendar, overall it has been really straightforward. I however have ran into a problem with adding events to the calendar. I am using ASP.NET MVC 1.0 and have found and followed this post. I am returning JSON to the FullCalendar and the events are getting bound, but they all show up as all day events. I am formatting the dates as ISO8601 format. Calendar Javascript $('#calendar').fullCalendar({ events: "/Calendar/GetEvents/" }); JsonResult public JsonResult GetEvents(double start, double end) { var fromDate = Utility.Dates.ConvertFromUnixTimestamp(start); var toDate = Utility.Dates.ConvertFromUnixTimestamp(end); List<GenericEventList> events = GETGENERICLISTOFEVENTS(); return Json(events.ToArray()); } JSON Result Value [{"id":2,"title":"Test Event","start":"2010-03-14T11:00:00","end":"2010-03-14T16:00:00"}, {"id":3,"title":"Test Event1asasas","start":"2010-03-14T10:00:00","end":"2010-03-14T14:00:00"}, {"id":4,"title":"Test Event12","start":"2010-03-14T16:00:00","end":"2010-03-14T17:00:00"}, {"id":6,"title":"Test Event1aaa","start":"2010-03-14T10:00:00","end":"2010-03-14T14:00:00"}] Any help is truly appreciated!

  • Calling WCF service with parameter using jQuery

    - by Remi Despres-Smyth
I'm trying to call a WCF web service hosted by IIS using jQuery. I can call it fine without any parameters, and I can also call it fine with a GET request that includes my parameter, but as soon as I try to send in the request via POST, the call is failing. The web service is currently nothing but: [OperationContract, WebInvoke] public ValidationResultSummary TestValidateOn( object day) { return null; } I've set the parameter to object, to make sure the issue isn't something with type coercion. With a breakpoint in the web service, I know the call without parameters as well as the GET call with param succeeds; in the latter the expected value is sent up. Calling code looks like: $.ajax({ // type: "GET", // url: "../Shared/Services/DomainServices.svc/TestValidateOn?day='12/Jan/2010'", type: "POST", url: "../Shared/Services/DomainServices.svc/TestValidateOn", // data: "{ }", --This works if object type param, calls with null data: "{'day': " + selectedDate + "}", // This fails miserably // data: "{'day': '" + selectedDate + "'}", --This also fails miserably contentType: "application/json; charset=utf-8", dataType: "json", success: function(data) { displayResults(data.d); }, error: function(xmlHttpReq, status, errThrown) { displayError(xmlHttpReq, status, errThrown); } }); The POST call never reaches my breakpoint, and on the client, error 500 - "Internal Server Error" - is returned. Any help would be appreciated.

  • jQuery UI Dialog pass on variables

    - by Dante
Hi, I'm creating a Web interface for a table in Mysql and want to use jQuery dialog for input and edit. I have the following code to start from: $("#content_new").dialog({ autoOpen: false, height: 350, width: 300, modal: true, buttons: { 'Create an account': function() { alert('add this product'); }, Cancel: function() { $(this).dialog('close'); $.validationEngine.closePrompt(".formError",true); } }, closeText: "Sluiten", title: "Voeg een nieuw product toe", open: function(ev, ui) { /* get the id and fill in the boxes */ }, close: function(ev, ui) { $.validationEngine.closePrompt(".formError",true); } }); $("#newproduct").click(function(){ $("#content_new").dialog('open'); }); $(".editproduct").click(function(){ var test = this.id; alert("id = " + test); }); So when a link with the class 'editproduct' is clicked it gets the id from that product and I want it to get to the open function of my dialog. Am I on the right track and can someone help me getting that variable there. Thanks in advance.

  • IE Display Bug, jQuery bug

    - by nute
So I built some complex ajaxy jquery module on my homepage, with the help of "scrollable" from flowplayer.org. It works fine for me on Chrome, Opera, Firefox ... but of course IE is not playing friendly (regardless of the version, from my testing). Objects are not displaying exactly where they should, some are overlaying each other, and when a click a button some divs just disappear. However, if I resize the IE browser window up and down, the display mostly fixes itself. Then if I click on one of the buttons I made, it messes it up again. Until I resize the window again and it looks fine. To see the problem: Go to makemeheal.com Visit a couple of product pages (you need a product browsing history to see the module) Go to: http://www.makemeheal.com/mmh/home.do?forceshowIE=1 Look at the "Your Recent History" module. (note the forceshowIE=1, because by default I hide it for IE people) I was thinking maybe there is a way to force IE to redraw the entire module sometimes? Or maybe someone has a better idea on how to fix the underlying problem? Source code is available here: http://www.makemeheal.com/mmh/scripts/recentHistory.js http://www.makemeheal.com/mmh/styles/recentHistory.css Thanks

I am using the jQuery validate plugin. My error labels are styled like tooltips and take many levels of nested divs in order to create. The plugin has a wrapper option that allows for an element type to be specified as a wrapper for the error message, but it's only wrapped once. Is anyone familiar with how to do nested wrapping? This isn't my exact markup, but as an example: <div class="tooltip"> <div> <div> <span class="error">This field is required.</span> </div> </div> </div> * UPDATE * The response from Chris answers my original question, but creates a new problem. The errors are now being displayed as desired, but the plugin fails to clear them. When a failed validation passes, span.error is set to display:none, but the div.tooltip nested wrapper still displays.

  • Using JavaScript/jQuery to return a list of CSS selectors based on highlighted text

    - by Bungle
I've been given some project requirements that involve (ideally) returning a list of CSS selectors based on highlighted text. In other words, a user could do something like this on a page: Click a button to indicate that their next text selection should be recorded. Highlight some text on the page. See a generated list of CSS selectors that correspond to all the elements that contain the highlighted text. Firstly, does this seem like a feasible goal? jQuery makes it easy to use a selector to access a particular element, but I'm not sure if the reverse holds true. If an element lacks an id attribute, I also don't know how you'd return an "optimized" selector - i.e., one that identifies an element uniquely. Maybe crawl up the DOM until you find an ID, then stem the selector from there? Secondly, from a high-level perspective, any ideas on how to go about this? Any tips or tricks that could speed development? I very much appreciate any help. Thanks!
