  • How do I determine what Excel-2007 is removing when it repairs my file?

    Summary: Excel repairs my file, tells me what was removed, I go into the xml/zip structure to investigate, and I cannot figure out what was changed. Does anybody know what I can do to better understand what Excel changed? Is it futile to try to determine? It feels like this should be possible and like I'm almost there... Details: When I open a file that I have renamed unnamed.xlsm, I receive the following notice: "Excel found unreadable content in 'unnamed.xlsm'. Do you want to recover the contents of this workbook? If you trust the sounce of this workbook, click Yes." I know the file is safe, I click yes, and I receive a message that "Excel was able to open the file by repairing or removing the unreadable content." It provides the following summary, but also provides an xml file which seems to contain the same content so I did not show it. Summary: Removed Records: Shared formula from /xl/worksheets/sheet3.xml part Removed Records: Formula from /xl/calcChain.xml part (Calculation properties) In order to determine issue, I have created a copy of the offending file, renamed it to have a '.zip' ending, opened up the files that Excel says it modified (sheet3), and perused the xml content, but this was not informative. I tried saving the repaired file and doing a simple diff on the xml for sheet3, but there are many changes and this is not informative either. I did the same thing for calcChain.xml and this was more useful. After saving the displayed xml with line breaks in text format, it was easy to identify the items that have been removed, but now I want to make sense of them. Perhaps they give clues of what happened to shee3. The following comparison is long, but I don't know if the entire train of differences is relevant.   • How do I properly center Nifty GUI elements on screen?

    I am new to JME3 game engine but I know Android XML GUI layouts pretty good. I have a simple layout here and I cant figure out what is wrong.     My site for some reason is generating a shebang - /#!/splash-page on the URL. For example when I type www.modernvintage1005.com, the browser returns www.modernvintage1005.com/#!/splash-page and every subsequent page is /#!/about, /#!/contact, and so forth. There's absolutely nothing on the Google about this. There is a lot of rewrite help to eliminate .index.php from the home page, but that's it. How do I rewrite it to just say domain.com and domain.com/about.html, etc.?     As the title goes , I have class named GetException.java,inside it ,I read a xml file in a static code block like(Because this document is shared): static{ ... document = db.parse(new File(System.getProperty("user.dir")+"/src/exception/ExceptionCode.xml")); ... } To test if the file path is correct, I write a main function just inside GetException.java, it proves that the path is correct ,xml file can be read successfully. My project root dir is "/home/wuchang/workspace/MongodbI". But When this Class is loaded from other class,such as I called one of its static functions , it reports the error message: /home/mrs/??/eclipse/src/exception/ExceptionCode.xml (No such file or directory) /home/mrs/??/eclipse/ is actually my eclipse installation directory.So , I wander how System.getProperty("user.dir") returned the eclipse installation directory to me ,instead of my project root directory?

    I am taking a software engineering class right now. Our assignment is to evaluate Mozilla's Thunderbird. Our assignment is to evaluate the size of Thunderbird. One metric that we need to use is the number of lines of code in the project. (Lines of code meaning not including comments or new lines). Is there a standard way to find the number of lines or am I better off just cracking out a script to do this? I think that I could do something like this: # remove all comments find -name *.java | \ sed "/\/*/,\*\// s/.*//g | \ # remove multiline comments sed s/\/\///g # remove single line comments # count not empty lines find -name *.java | grep -c "<character>" But I would need to do that for each file type. It seems like there should be some utility that does that already. (something mac/unix compatible would be preferable).

The "Complex Aggregations" section of the README file seems to discuss that type of situation, but it doesn't exactly offer sample code, nor does it offer a way to do it in two queries instead of one joined query, which is worse for performance.     I have 2 related MySQL tables in a one to many relationship. Customers: cust_id, cust_name, cust_notes Orders: order_id, cust_id, order_comments So, if I do a standard join to get all customers and their orders via PHP, I return something like: Jack Black, jack's notes, comments about jack's 1st order Jack Black, jack's notes, comments about jack's 2nd order Simon Smith, simon's notes, comments about simon's 1st order Simon Smith, simon's notes, comments about simon's 2nd order The problem is that *cust_notes* is a text field and can be quite large (a couple of thousand words). So, it seems like returning that field for every order is inneficient. I could use *GROUP_CONCAT* and JOINS to return all *order_comments* on a single row BUT order_comments is a large text field too, so it seems like that could create a problem. Should I just use two separate queries, one for the customers table and one for the orders table? Is there a better way?

PAGES -id (Primary Key) -user Foreign Key(USER) -page -date COMMENTS -id (Primary Key) -user Foreign Key(USER) -page Foreign Key(PAGE) -comment -date FAVOURITES_PAGES -id (Primary Key) -user Foreign Key(USER) -favourite_page Foreign Key(PAGE) -date but now one of the most important page of website is observatory, when everyone can observe activity others users. So I need select all pages, comments and favourites pages some users and display it in one list, sorted by date. For better perfomance (I think) I changed my structure to this: table USER and PROFILE without changes ACTIVITY (additional table- have common fields: user,date) -id (Primary Key) -user Foreign Key(USER) -date -page Foreign Key(PAGE) -comment Foreign Key(COMMENTS) -favourite_page Foreign Key(FAVOURITES_PAGES) PAGES -id (Primary Key) -page COMMENTS -id (Primary Key) -page Foreign Key(PAGE) -comment FAVOURITES_PAGES -id (Primary Key) -favourite_page Foreign Key(PAGE) So now it is very easy get sorted records from all tables. But I have no only foreign key to PAGES, COMMENTS and FAVOURITES_PAGES in ACTIVITY table - there is about ten Foreign Key fields and in one record only one have value, others have None: ACTIVITY id user date page comment ... 1 2 2010-02-23 None 1 2 1 2010-02-21 1 None .... It is corect solution. When I display about 40 records in one page (pagination) I must wait about one secound, but database is almost emty (a few users and about 100 records in others tables). It is depends on amount records per page - I have checked it, but why it takes too long time, becouse of relationships? The website is built in Python/Django. Any advices/opinion?

    It is not clear from the PDF ISO standard document (PDF32000-2008) whether a comment may follow the startxref keyword: startxref Byte_offset_of_last_cross-reference_section %%EOF The standard does seem to imply that comments may appear anywhere: 7.2.3 Comments Any occurrence of the PERCENT SIGN (25h) outside a string or stream introduces a comment. The comment consists of all characters after the PERCENT SIGN and up to but not including the end of the line, including regular, delimiter, SPACE (20h), and HORZONTAL TAB characters (09h). A conforming reader shall ignore comments, and treat them as single white-space characters. That is, a comment separates the token preceding it from the one following it. EXAMPLE The PDF fragment in this example is syntactically equivalent to just the tokens abc and 123. abc% comment ( /%) blah blah blah 123 Comments (other than the %PDF–n.m and %%EOF comments described in 7.5, "File Structure") have no semantics. They are not necessarily preserved by applications that edit PDF files. If they are allowed to appear after the startxref, parsing the file becomes more difficult because you do not know how far to back up from the %%EOF comment to start parsing to find the byte offset. Any ideas?

  • Why is 1px sometimes 2px when specified in Android XML?

    I've got a desire for a one-pixel divider line, just for looks. I thought I could accomplish this using a View of height 1px, with a defined background. However, I'm getting some very odd behavior on different devices - sometimes the 1px ends up as 2px. I have not found any other questions on Disqus and BlogEngine.NET.     Hello! I'm having a problem retrieving a XMLList and I don't understand why. I have an application that is running properly. It uses some data from two xml files called division.xml and store.xml. I noticed that I have some data in division.xml that should be in store.xml, so I did a copy/paste of the data from one file to the other. This is the data I copied: <stores> <store> <odeis>101</odeis> <name></name> <password></password> <currency></currency> <currSymbol></currSymbol> </store> <store> <odeis>102</odeis> <name></name> <password></password> <currency></currency> <currSymbol></currSymbol> </store> </stores> In the application, I list all odeis codes and I need to retrieve the block store corresponding to the selected odeis code. Before moving the data into store.xml, this is how I retrieved the block: var node:XMLList = divisionData.division.(@name==HomePageData.instance.divisionName).stores.store.(odeis == HomePageData.instance.storeCodeOdeis) This is how I retrieve it after copying the data into store.xml: var node:XMLList = storeData.stores.(@name==HomePageData.instance.divisionName).store.(odeis == HomePageData.instance.storeCodeOdeis) And I'm currently getting the following error: ReferenceError: Error #1065: The variable odeis is not defined. I'm a little dumbfounded on how this happened, the client mentioned a couple e-mails of this, so I don't think it is a random glitch. Also, the e-mail address was formatted like an e-mail address, so someone or some program was interpreting the labels next to each text box. I also noticed that the first and last names entered are the same word, even though they were in different text boxes, I'm thinking its some spam program, but wouldn't they try to advertise something and make money, rather than just spouting out random text? Also, the comments section makes no sense to me at all, the links goto nowhere and they're all perfectly formatted, a random person just screwing around wouldn't know those tags, and a programmer doing it wouldn't bother with it, but also neither would a program. I have no idea what caused this or how to fix it, I'm drawing a blank here. Anyone have any ideas?
