  • Print/save full webpage as PDF

    - by Oliver
I need a method to be able to print/save the current full webpage as a PDF. I know it can be done if I download a PDF printer and print to that; but I need it to be done without the user having to do anything other than click a button in a webpage. I can't do it via PHP as the page is all client side content, so I'm guessing an ActiveX component? Any ideas would be greatly appreciated! Many thanks

  • Efficient way to store tuples in the datastore

    - by Drew Sears
If I have a pair of floats, is it any more efficient (computationally or storage-wise) to store them as a GeoPtProperty than it would be pickle the tuple and store it as a BlobProperty? If GeoPt is doing something more clever to keep multiple values in a single property, can it be leveraged for arbitrary data? Can I store the tuple ("Johnny", 5) in a single entity property in a similarly efficient manner?

  • Nginx: check content-length before file upload takes place

    - by robw
I'm trying to prevent users from uploading (accidentally or maliciously) very large files to my website. I have nginx max_client_body_size set to 4M, but if a file larger than this is uploaded, then it uploads the entire file before returning 413 (entity too large). I want to make nginx check the Content-Length header, so that it rejects the request before it's uploaded. Alternatively, a Rails solution would also be acceptable. Any help appreciated.

  • XS:Group causes Schema to fail validation

    - by paulwhit
I have an XML document based on a Schema that uses the xs:group element to bunch elements together. The result is an entity where name, address and phone number are defined in a group. This fails Schema validation in MS (Visual Studio) as well as XERCES (oXygen XML editor) Is there a workaround?

  • Why do programmers sometimes refer to "C++/STL" like it's a separate language?

    - by BillyONeal
This may seem a trivial question, but it's one that's bothered me a lot lately. Why do some programmers refer to "C++/STL" like it's a different language? The STL is part of the C++ standard library -- and therefore is part of the language, "C++". It's not a separate component, and it does not live alone in the scope of things C++. Yet some continually act like it's a different language altogether. Why?

  • Does UrlDecode handle plus (+) correctly?

    - by harpo
According to RFC 2396, The plus "+", dollar "$", and comma "," characters have been added to those in the "reserved" set, since they are treated as reserved within the query component. Indeed, search this site for "plus + comma , dollar $", and you get http://stackoverflow.com/search?q=plus+%2B+comma+,+dollar+$ Plus is only encoded (by the application) when it's not being used as a delimiter. But as others have observed, .NET's UrlDecode function converts plus to space. Where is this behavior specified?

  • What is a 'better' approach to query/save from server: DTO or Wcf Data Services?

    - by bonefisher
From my perspective, the Data Services and their query approach is useful when querying simple object graphs from your server-side domain model. But when you want to query complex dependencies I couldn't create anything good out of it. The classic DTO approach is fine-grained and can handle everything, but the downside is that you have to create Dto classes for every type of server-request which is time consuming and you have to synchronize the Dto type with your domain entity/business logic.

  • How can I make xmlpp::DomParser less verbose on errors?

    - by Beau Simensen
How can I make xmlpp::DomParser be less verbose on errors? Right now, if parsing fails, I get a bunch of text printed to my console and I'd just as soon have that not be visible. Entity: line 1: parser error : Opening and ending tag mismatch: feed line 1 and fed <feed><entry id='5' /></fed> I don't see a lot of options for xmlpp::DomParser but I have to believe this is something that can be disabled/tweaked.

  • mouse wheel operates on scrollbar

    - by basicblock
If a SWF file or even a component within it has scrollbars, wouldn't it make sense that if the user is hovered over that area (it's in focus) and uses the mouse wheel, that this movement would automatically translate to the scrollbar moving. Any ideas how this is done, the events or classes used for this? I'm open to outside components or classes too. I haven't started yet, but I'll do an item renderer because it's easy to give it scrollbar.

  • Instanciate a class with a given id in ExtJS

    - by Miller
Hello, I would like to know if it is possible to instanciate a class by its id . For example we have a class extending Ext.grid.GridPanel with an id property, is it possible to instanciate the class just knowing his id (which is the component id in this case) ?

  • Dispose a Web Service Proxy class?

    - by Matt
When you create and use a Web Service proxy class in the ASP.Net framework, the class ultimately inherits from Component, which implements IDisposable. I have never seen one example online where people dispose of a web proxy class, but was wondering if it really needs to be done. When I call only one method, I normally wrap it in a using statement, but if I have a need to call it several times throughout the page, I might end up using the same instance, and just wondered what the ramifications are of not disposing it.

  • FluentNHibernate - AutoMappings producing incorrect one-to-many column key

    - by Alberto
Hi I'm new to NHibernate and FNH and am trying to map these simple classes by using FluentNHibernate AutoMappings feature: public class TVShow : Entity { public virtual string Title { get; set;} public virtual ICollection<Season> Seasons { get; protected set; } public TVShow() { Seasons = new HashedSet<Season>(); } public virtual void AddSeason(Season season) { season.TVShow = this; Seasons.Add(season); } public virtual void RemoveSeason(Season season) { if (!Seasons.Contains(season)) { throw new InvalidOperationException("This TV Show does not contain the given season"); } season.TVShow = null; Seasons.Remove(season); } } public class Season : Entity { public virtual TVShow TVShow { get; set; } public virtual int Number { get; set; } public virtual IList<Episode> Episodes { get; set; } public Season() { Episodes = new List<Episode>(); } public virtual void AddEpisode(Episode episode) { episode.Season = this; Episodes.Add(episode); } public virtual void RemoveEpisode(Episode episode) { if (!Episodes.Contains(episode)) { throw new InvalidOperationException("Episode not found on this season"); } episode.Season = null; Episodes.Remove(episode); } } I'm also using a couple of conventions: public class MyForeignKeyConvention : IReferenceConvention { #region IConvention<IManyToOneInspector,IManyToOneInstance> Members public void Apply(FluentNHibernate.Conventions.Instances.IManyToOneInstance instance) { instance.Column("fk_" + instance.Property.Name); } #endregion } The problem is that FNH is generating the section below for the Seasons property mapping: <bag name="Seasons"> <key> <column name="TVShow_Id" /> </key> <one-to-many class="TVShowsManager.Domain.Season, TVShowsManager.Domain, Version=1.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=null" /> </bag> The column name above should be fk_TVShow rather than TVShow_Id. If amend the hbm files produced by FNH then the code works. Does anyone know what it's wrong? Thanks in advance.

  • Java: JPQL search -similar- strings

    - by bguiz
What methods are there to get JPQL to match similar strings? By similar I mean: Contains: search string is found within the string of the matches entity Case-insensitive Small mispellings: e.g. "arow" matches "arrow" I suspect the first two will be easy, however, I would appreciate help with the last one Thank you

  • How to stop debugging (or detach process) without stopping the process?

    - by Valentein
I often use VS 2008 to debug a .NET C# component of an application. Sometimes, I want to quit debugging and continue running the application. Stop Debugging kills the process I was debugging. How can I achieve my aim? This is not a web app, it's a local process that runs managed and unmanaged code. I don't see any "Detach" or "Detach All" option in the Debug menu (is it enabled in some option?).

  • App losing db connection

    - by DaveKub
I'm having a weird issue with an old Delphi app losing it's database connection. Actually, I think it's losing something else that then makes the connection either drop or be unusable. The app is written in Delphi 6 and uses the Direct Oracle Access component (v4.0.7.1) to connect to an Oracle 9i database. The app runs as a service and periodically queries the db using a TOracleQuery object (qryAlarmList). The method that is called to do this looks like this: procedure TdmMain.RefreshAlarmList; begin try qryAlarmList.Execute; except on E: Exception do begin FStatus := ssError; EventLog.LogError(-1, 'TdmMain.RefreshAlarmList', 'Message: ' + E.Message); end; end; end; It had been running fine for years, until a couple of Perl scripts were added to this machine. These scripts run every 15 minutes and look for datafiles to import into the db, and then they do a some calculations and a bunch of reads/writes to/from the db. For some reason, when they are processing large amounts of data, and then the Delphi app tries to query the db, the Delphi app throws an exception at the "qryAlarmList.Execute" line in the above code listing. The exception is always: Access violation at address 00000000. read of address 00000000 HOW can something that the Perl scripts are doing cause this?? There are other Perl scripts on this machine that load data using the same modules and method calls and we didn't have problems. To make it even weirder, there are two other apps that will also suddenly lose their ability to talk to the database at the same time as the Perl stuff is running. Neither of those apps run on this machine, but both are Delphi 6 apps that use the same DOA component to connect to the same database. We have other apps that connect to the same db, written in Java or C# and they don't seem to have any problems. I've tried adding code before the '.Execute' method is called to: check the session's connection (session.CheckConnection(true); always comes back as 'ccOK'). see whether I can access a field of the qryAlarmList object to see if maybe it's become null; can access it fine. check the state of the qryAlarmList; always says it's qsIdle. Does anyone have any suggestions of something to try? This is driving me nuts! Dave
