    E-Business Suite 11.5.10 Sustaining Support Exception & 12.1 Extended Support Now to Dec. 2018 [ID 1495337.1] As part of Oracle’s continued commitment to our customers, we will be providing an exception for the first 13 months of Sustaining Support on Oracle E-Business Suite Release 11.5.10 (11i10), valid from December 1, 2013 – December 31, 2014. This exception support will be comprised of three components: (1) new fixes for Severity 1 production issues, (2) United States Form 1099 2013 year-end updates, and (3) payroll regulatory updates for the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, and Australia for fiscal years ending in 2014.  In addition, the Extended Support period for E-Business Suite Release 12.1 has been extended through December, 2018. Customers with an active Oracle Premier Support for Software contract will automatically be entitled to Extended Support deliverables for E-Business Suite 12.1. Please refer to the Lifetime Support section of oracle.com for further information regarding Oracle's Lifetime Support Policy for Applications. This change will be reflected in the October update to the Software Technical Support Policies.

  • JHeadstart search with default values

    JHeadstart has a powerful generator for ADF Faces pages. One of the features of the generator is the generation of search functionality into a page. The search functionality offers a "Quicksearch" with a single search item and an "Advanced Search" for multiple search criteria. Sometimes it would be nice to have initial values for the search criteria, but this is not supplied by JHeadstart by default.

  • Chart Filtering

    Interesting question from a colleague this week. Can you add a filter to a chart to just show a specific set of data? In an RTF template, you need to do a little finagling in the chart definition. In an online template, a couple of clicks and you're done. RTF Build your chart as you would normally to include all the data to start with. Now flip to the Advanced tab to see the code behind the chart. Its not very pretty but with a little effort you can get it looking a little more friendly. Here's my chart showing employees and their salaries. <Graph depthAngle="50" depthRadius="8" seriesEffect="SE_AUTO_GRADIENT"> <LegendArea visible="true"/>  <Title text="Executive Department Only" visible="true" horizontalAlignment="CENTER"/>  <LocalGridData colCount="{count(.//G_2)}" rowCount="1">   <RowLabels>    <Label>SALARY</Label>   </RowLabels>   <ColLabels>    <xsl:for-each select=".//G_2">     <Label><xsl:value-of select="EMP_NAME"/></Label>    </xsl:for-each>   </ColLabels>   <DataValues>    <RowData>     <xsl:for-each select=".//G_2">      <Cell><xsl:value-of select="SALARY"/></Cell>     </xsl:for-each>    </RowData>   </DataValues>  </LocalGridData> </Graph> Note the emboldened text. Its currently grabbing all values in the G_2 level of the data. We can use an XPATH expression to filter the data to the set we want to see. In my case I want to only see the employees that are in the Executive department. My  data is structured thus:   <DATA_DS>     <G_1>         <DEPARTMENT_NAME>Accounting</DEPARTMENT_NAME>         <G_2>             <MANAGER>Higgins</MANAGER>             <EMPLOYEE_ID>206</EMPLOYEE_ID>             <HIRE_DATE>2002-06-07T00:00:00.000-04:00</HIRE_DATE>             <SALARY>8300</SALARY>             <JOB_TITLE>Public Accountant</JOB_TITLE>             <PARAS>11000</PARAS>             <EMP_NAME>William Gietz</EMP_NAME>         </G_2> So the XPATH expression Im going to use to limit the data to the Executive department would be .//G_2[../DEPARTMENT_NAME='Executive'] Note the ../ moves the parser up the XML tree to be able to test the DEPARTMENT_NAME value. I added this XPATH expression to the three instances that need it ColCount, ColLabels and RowData. Its simple enough to do. Testing your XPATH expression is easier to do using a table of data. Please note, as soon as you make changes to the chart code. Going back to the Builder tab, you'll find that everything is grayed out. I recommend you make all the changes you can via the chart dialog before updating the code. Online Template Implementing the filter is much simpler, there is a dialog box to help you out. Add you chart and fill out the various data points you want to show. then hit the Filter item in the ribbon above the chart. That will pop the filter dialog box where you can then add a filter to the chart.   You can add multiple filters if needed and of course you can use the Manage Filters button to re-open and edit the filters. Pretty straightforward stuff!

  • Excel or Access: how to group several lines in a table and insert contents in columns? ("split column")

    I have a table containing data of sold products (shown in the example on the left): Columns: Number of the order Product Name Attribute - specifies what is given in the following field "value", e. g. Customer Name or Product Variant Value - is the value of the Attribute Count - is the number of products of this variant sold in the order That means: Product B has 2 variants "c" and "d" Note that in Order 1 Product B was sold in Variant d only, because the letter "N" in field "D4" means "none". Note, that in OrdnerNo 3 Product B was sold only in Variant c, because for Variant d field "D9" is "N"!! This is confusing, but it is the structure of the original data (which I can not change). I need a way to convert the table on the left in a table like that on the right: one line for each product type Order Number Product Name Customer Name Count (number of products sold in this order) Variant - this is the problem, as it has to be filled with the So all rows with the same OrderNo and same product have to be grouped in to one, and I hope it is clear what I need. I tried to do it with Pivot Tables, but that fails, as the Count is always in each line, no matter if it has Value "N" or not and for the products without variants there is only one line for each order, however for products with variants there are several... So how could I create the right table with a VBA macro in MS Excel or maybe there is a trick in MS Access to do it directly or with an SQL query?

  • Is there a way to have "default" or "placeholder" values in Excel?

    I've got a spreadsheet with cells that I want to be user-editable, but that I also want to have "default" or "placeholder" values in, whenever there is no user-entered data. There's a couple good use cases for this: Prevent formula errors, while providing reasonable assumptions when a user has not entered (or has deleted) their own value. I could use conditional formatting to alert the user to default values, so as to prevent their ignorance of them - they can then make an informed choice as to whether that value is still appropriate or not for the intended calculations. Give a short description of what is intended to be entered in the cell, without having to have a separate "instructions" segment or document. This would also eliminate the need for a nearby "Label" cell, in some cases where it's really not appropriate. To accomplish what I want, I need some formula, script, or other advanced spreadsheet option that will do the following: Show the default value in the cell before user enters data. Allow the default value to be found by any formulas referencing the cell, when there is no user-entered data in that cell. Allow the user to freely (naturally, exactly as they would do with any "normal" cell) overwrite the displayed value with their own value or formula, and have the user-entered data found by any formulas referencing the cell. When cell is blanked by deletion of user input, revert to default value. Is there a way to do this in Excel, or am I asking too much of a spreadsheet program here?

  • ms excel 2010 in windows xp - when open workbook the data is formatted differently than when i saved it

    I haven't been able to find an answer to this. I have multiple files that I use regularly in excel that now have cell formats of "date". Every single cell in the entire workbook (all sheets) is now formatted as "date". The problem is that I lost my formatting for percents, numbers years, etc and now everything is converted to date (xx/xx/xxxx). I am able to open previously saved versions of a file (prior to me having the problem) and the cells are formatted as I intend them to be (percents, numbers, general, as well as dates). Since this has happened on a couple different files recently, I am wondering how this is happening and how do I prevent it from happening in the future. I cannot cure the problem just by highlighting the entire sheet and converting back to general because I lose all my percents and number formatting.   • Working the Chart Percentages

    Charting in BIP is such fun, well sometimes it is. Not so much today, at least not for Ron in San Diego. He needed a horizontal bar chart showing values plotted for various test areas with value labels at the end of the bars. Simple enough right? The wrinkle, they were percentage values so he needed to see '56%' not '56'! Still, it should be simple enough but the percentage formatting has a requirement for your values to be in a decimal format i.e. 0.56 not 56.0. 56.0 gets formatted as 5600%. OK, so either pull the values out as decimals or use the div function to divide the values in the chart by 100 e.g. <xsl:value-of select="myval div 100)" /> Now I can use the following the chart XML to format the percentages as I need them:   <Graph ... > ... <MarkerText visible="true"> <Y1ViewFormat> <ViewFormat numberType="NUMTYPE_PERCENT" decimalDigit="0" numberTypeUsed="true" leadingZeroUsed="true" decimalDigitUsed="true"/> </Y1ViewFormat> </MarkerText> ... </Graph>   That gets me the values shown the way I want but the auto axis formatting gets me from 0 >> 1.     I get a XLS-File as a database report. The File is in the following format: | Customer | Name | ... | Orders 1 | 6 | ... | ... | 1234 2 | | | | 4567 3 | | | | 8910 4 | 3 | ... | ... | 3210 5 | | | | 8765 6 | 1 | ... | ... | 1000 7 | | | | 1001 I need to sort this thing on a column which is only "filled" in the first line of a "record" (here: Line 1-3, 4+5, 6+7) like "Customer" in this example. Is there a way (without falling back to VBA) to keep the lines together which form a "record" while sorting on them. I know, this is abusing Excel but I have no other choise here. The expected output after sorting on "Customer" would be: | Customer | Name | ... | Orders 1 | 1 | ... | ... | 1000 2 | | | | 1001 3 | 3 | ... | ... | 3210 4 | | | | 8765 5 | 6 | ... | ... | 1234 6 | | | | 4567 7 | | | | 8910

  • Conditional formatting Excel 2007/2010: Highlight the first cell in the row that contains duplicate values?

    I have a table with hundreds of columns and rows of data; each row and column have a header. For instance, column headers are ITEM, FILE1, FILE2, FILE3, etc. and row headers are AA, BB, CC, DD, and so on. Under conditional formatting, I used "Highlight Cells Rules" "Equal to", in order to highlight cells that have values equal to the value in another cell. In this case, my formula rule is: Rule: Cell Value = $A$1 Applies to: =$B$3:$G$8 When I input "X" into cell A1, Excel will highlight all of the cells that have a value equal to "X", in this case, the following cells are highlighted: B3, C5, G6, and E8. Here's my problem. The data that I am working with contains more than 100 columns and rows. I want to identify all of the ITEMS (AA, BB, CC, etc.) that contain the duplicate file "X". In order to do this I have to scroll right to left, and up and down. Here's my question. Is there a way to use conditional formatting to add an additional rule? I want to keep the current rule, but I also want the row header to be highlighted if any of the cells in that row contain a value equal to "x". In this case, I want AA, CC, DD, and FF to also be highlighted. Is this possible? I've spent days trying to figure this out - and no luck.
