  • Is there a good Fogbugz client for Windows

    - by Sebastian
Funnily enough, I already found some pointers and a thread to an OSX client for Fogbugz. Here I am looking for a Windows client. I know there are web browsers for Windows, but I am looking for fast editing; fast changing of attributes ("one click"); zapping through cases and edits in milliseconds; no waiting for HTTP round trips, just pure speed. Are there any solutions for this?

  • jQuery Cycle plugin: One pager to control multiple slideshow on a page

    - by Michael
Hi there, I have a cycle plugin set up on a page (images) with a pager to control the horizontal slide. My issue is that there is a transparent overlay that needs to sit over part of the images for some text relating to each image but would rather have that with a different transition effect for this so it doesn't slide in from the left. Am I able to set up to slideshows, each with 3 pieces of related content, that I can position correctly and have them controlled with the one pager? My script currently looks like this: $(function() { $('.s4').before('<div id="nav" class="nav">').cycle({ fx: 'fade', speed: 'slow', speedIn: 'slow', // speed of the 'in' transition speedOut: 'slow', timeout: 6000, pager: '#nav' }); }); I hope this makes sense, Thanks

  • Decrypting data from a secure socket

    - by Ronald
I'm working on a server application in Java. I've successfully got past the handshake portion of the communication process, but how do I go about decrypting my input stream? Here is how I set up my server: import java.io.IOException; import java.net.ServerSocket; import java.net.Socket; import java.util.ArrayList; import java.util.HashMap; import javax.net.ServerSocketFactory; import javax.net.ssl.SSLServerSocket; import javax.net.ssl.SSLServerSocketFactory; import org.json.me.JSONException; import dictionary.Dictionary; public class Server { private static int port = 1234; public static void main(String[] args) throws JSONException { System.setProperty("javax.net.ssl.keyStore", "src/my.keystore"); System.setProperty("javax.net.ssl.keyStorePassword", "test123"); System.out.println("Starting server on port: " + port); HashMap<String, Game> games = new HashMap<String, Game>(); final String[] enabledCipherSuites = { "SSL_RSA_WITH_RC4_128_SHA" }; try{ SSLServerSocketFactory socketFactory = (SSLServerSocketFactory) SSLServerSocketFactory.getDefault(); SSLServerSocket listener = (SSLServerSocket) socketFactory.createServerSocket(port); listener.setEnabledCipherSuites(enabledCipherSuites); Socket server; Dictionary dict = new Dictionary(); Game game = new Game(dict); //for testing, creates 1 global game. while(true){ server = listener.accept(); ClientConnection conn = new ClientConnection(server, game, "User"); Thread t = new Thread(conn); t.start(); } } catch(IOException e){ System.out.println("Failed setting up on port: " + port); e.printStackTrace(); } } } I used a BufferedReader to get the data send from the client: BufferedReader d = new BufferedReader(new InputStreamReader(socket.getInputStream())); After the handshake is complete it appears like I'm getting encrypted data. I did some research online and it seems like I might need to use a Cipher, but I'm not sure. Any ideas?

  • How to make per- http Request cache in ASP.NET 3.5

    - by Artem
We using ASP.NET 3.5 (Controls-based apporach) and need to have storage specific for one http request only. Thread-specific cache with keys from session id won't work because threads are supposed to be pooled and therefore I have a chance to have data from some previous request in cache, which is undesireble in my case. I always need to have brand new storage for each request available through whole request. Any ideas how to do it in ASP.NET 3.5?

  • Good FORTRAN books/tutorials for beginners?

    - by AndrejaKo
This may be a duplicate of http://stackoverflow.com/questions/31672/learning-fortran-in-the-modern-era, but that thread went on discussing legacy code concerns. Anyway, few months ago in a bookstore sale I picked up book called FORTRAN 66 for PDP-11. I found it interesting and decided it would be nice to learn FORTRAN. So I'm looking for some modern books/tutorials dealing with new versions of FORTRAN.

  • Unable to reserve a job with beanstalkd

    - by Brian Hogg
I have tried on two different servers to get beanstalkd up and running and do a couple tests (locally on MacOSX compiled from source, and on a CentOS server installed with yum) I can get the server running either with sudo beanstalkd -d -p 11300 or sudo beanstalkd -p 11300 & I then tried using the php lib and it just froze. Connecting directly: telnet localhost 11300 I do the following to mimic the PHP test script: use foo USING foo put 0 0 120 5 hello INSERTED 1 reserve-with-timeout 0 TIMED_OUT If I just run reserve It's stuck indefinitely. Any ideas?

  • Find messages[from-to]

    - by Alfred
I would like to return all messages from certain key to a certain key. The class should be thread-safe and old keys should be able to be deleted say for example after 30 seconds. I was thinking of using a concurrentskiplistset or concurrentskiplist map. Also I was thinking of deleting the items from inside a newSingleThreadScheduledExecutor. I would like to know how you would implement this or maybe use a library?

  • Two versions of same asp.net app using same server as stateserver - bad?

    - by MGOwen
We have 2 production web servers for our web app, load balanced to handle lots of traffic. We also have a similar setup for testing. Test pool: [TEST 1]---[TEST 2] Prod pool: [PROD 1]---[PROD 2] When comparing the Web.Config of the app versions (test vs live) I discovered something surprising: both pools have the same value for stateConnectionString. If I understand right, this means they are using the same state server: <sessionState mode="StateServer" stateConnectionString="tcpip=123.123.123.123:42424" cookieless="false" timeout="30"/> Is this a problem? (How does the state server not confuse the two pools)? I was having odd only-sometimes slowdown/errors on the test server, that's why I was looking at this in the first place, but the prod pool runs fine...

  • Optimising movement on hex grid

    - by Mloren
I am making a turn based hex-grid game. The player selects units and moves them across the hex grid. Each tile in the grid is of a particular terrain type (eg desert, hills, mountains, etc) and each unit type has different abilities when it comes to moving over the terrain (e.g. some can move over mountains easily, some with difficulty and some not at all). Each unit has a movement value and each tile takes a certain amount of movement based on its terrain type and the unit type. E.g it costs a tank 1 to move over desert, 4 over swamp and cant move at all over mountains. Where as a flying unit moves over everything at a cost of 1. The issue I have is that when a unit is selected, I want to highlight an area around it showing where it can move, this means working out all the possible paths through the surrounding hexes, how much movement each path will take and lighting up the tiles based on that information. I got this working with a recursive function and found it took too long to calculate, I moved the function into a thread so that it didn't block the game but still it takes around 2 seconds for the thread to calculate the moveable area for a unit with a move of 8. Its over a million recursions which obviously is problematic. I'm wondering if anyone has an clever ideas on how I can optimize this problem. Here's the recursive function I'm currently using (its C# btw): private void CalcMoveGridRecursive(int nCenterIndex, int nMoveRemaining) { //List of the 6 tiles adjacent to the center tile int[] anAdjacentTiles = m_ThreadData.m_aHexData[nCenterIndex].m_anAdjacentTiles; foreach(int tileIndex in anAdjacentTiles) { //make sure this adjacent tile exists if(tileIndex == -1) continue; //How much would it cost the unit to move onto this adjacent tile int nMoveCost = m_ThreadData.m_anTerrainMoveCost[(int)m_ThreadData.m_aHexData[tileIndex].m_eTileType]; if(nMoveCost != -1 && nMoveCost <= nMoveRemaining) { //Make sure the adjacent tile isnt already in our list. if(!m_ThreadData.m_lPassableTiles.Contains(tileIndex)) m_ThreadData.m_lPassableTiles.Add(tileIndex); //Now check the 6 tiles surrounding the adjacent tile we just checked (it becomes the new center). CalcMoveGridRecursive(tileIndex, nMoveRemaining - nMoveCost); } } } At the end of the recursion, m_lPassableTiles contains a list of the indexes of all the tiles that the unit can possibly reach and they are made to glow. This all works, it just takes too long. Does anyone know a better approach to this?

  • java concurrency: many writers, one reader

    - by Janning
I need to gather some statistics in my software and i am trying to make it fast and correct, which is not easy (for me!) first my code so far with two classes, a StatsService and a StatsHarvester public class StatsService { private Map<String, Long> stats = new HashMap<String, Long>(1000); public void notify ( String key ) { Long value = 1l; synchronized (stats) { if (stats.containsKey(key)) { value = stats.get(key) + 1; } stats.put(key, value); } } public Map<String, Long> getStats ( ) { Map<String, Long> copy; synchronized (stats) { copy = new HashMap<String, Long>(stats); stats.clear(); } return copy; } } this is my second class, a harvester which collects the stats from time to time and writes them to a database. public class StatsHarvester implements Runnable { private StatsService statsService; private Thread t; public void init ( ) { t = new Thread(this); t.start(); } public synchronized void run ( ) { while (true) { try { wait(5 * 60 * 1000); // 5 minutes collectAndSave(); } catch (InterruptedException e) { e.printStackTrace(); } } } private void collectAndSave ( ) { Map<String, Long> stats = statsService.getStats(); // do something like: // saveRecords(stats); } } At runtime it will have about 30 concurrent running threads each calling notify(key) about 100 times. Only one StatsHarvester is calling statsService.getStats() So i have many writers and only one reader. it would be nice to have accurate stats but i don't care if some records are lost on high concurrency. The reader should run every 5 Minutes or whatever is reasonable. Writing should be as fast as possible. Reading should be fast but if it locks for about 300ms every 5 minutes, its fine. I've read many docs (Java concurrency in practice, effective java and so on), but i have the strong feeling that i need your advice to get it right. I hope i stated my problem clear and short enough to get valuable help.

  • Huge amount of time sending data with suds and proxy

    - by Roman
Hi everyone, I have the following code to send data through a proxy using suds: import suds t = suds.transport.http.HttpTransport() proxy = urllib2.ProxyHandler({'http': 'http://192.168.3.217:3128'}) opener = urllib2.build_opener(proxy) t.urlopener = opener ws = suds.client.Client('http://xxxxxxx/web.asmx?WSDL', transport=t) req = ws.factory.create('ActionRequest.request') req.SerialNumber = 'asdf' req.HostName = 'hola' res = ws.service.ActionRequest(req) I don't know why, but it can be sending data above 2 or 3 minutes, or even more and it raises a "Gateway timeout" exception sometimes. If I don't use the proxy, the amount of time used is above 2 seconds or less. Here is the SOAP reply: (ActionResponse){ Id = None Action = "Action.None" Objects = "" } The proxy is running right with other requests through urllib2, or using normal web browsers like firefox. Does anyone have any idea what's happening here with suds? Thanks a lot in advance!!!

  • Iterating Collection In Two Threads

    - by ChloeRadshaw
This question relates both to C# and Java If you have a collection which is not modified and that collection reference is shared between two threads what happens when you iterate on each thread?? ThreadA: Collection.iterator ThreadA: Collection.moveNext ThreadB: Collection.iterator ThreadB: Collection.moveNext Will threadB see the first element? Is the iterator always reset when it is requested? What happens if this is interleaved so movenext and item is interleaved? Is there a danger that you dont process all elements??

  • How to do a comet long pulling with ActionScript3?

    - by Victor Lin
I want to load data from my web server, I want it be the AJAX/Comet way, my web-server long holds the request, response it until something happened. Thus, I wrote some as3 code like this: private function load(): void { var request:URLRequest = new URLRequest(url); var variables:URLVariables = new URLVariables(); variables.tick = this.tick; request.data = variables; urlLoader = new URLLoader(request); urlLoader.addEventListener(Event.COMPLETE, onComplete); urlLoader.addEventListener(IOErrorEvent.IO_ERROR , onIOError); log.info("Loading info from {0}", request.url); } It works, if the waiting time is short, but however, it failed with IOError 2032, seems the waiting time is out. Here is the problem, how can I do a long-polling with as3 and avoid the timeout error? Thanks.

  • Django - serving and managing permissions for static content

    - by kRON
I have certain documents that I want to limit access to through Django to authorized users with permissions only. If I'm going to use Django as a proxy to serve static files in a view, what are the implications? I'm used to serving static files in Apache and configuring that my media is served without any handlers, but what happens if someone starts downloading 500mb through my Django proxy? Will my Django thread be locked for that user until he recieves the 500mb response?

  • Zero code coverage with cobertura 1.9.2 but tests are working

    - by eraonel
I run the code coverage target: <junit fork="yes" dir="${basedir}" failureProperty="test.failed"> <!-- Note the classpath order: instrumented classes are before the original (uninstrumented) classes. This is important. --> <classpath path="${instrumented.dir}" /> <classpath path="${classes.dir}" /> <classpath refid="classpath" /> <!-- The instrumented classes reference classes used by the Cobertura runtime, so Cobertura and its dependencies must be on your classpath. --> <classpath refid="cobertura.classpath" /> <formatter type="xml" /> <!--<test name="${testcase}" todir="${reports.xml.dir}" if="testcase" />--> <batchtest fork="yes" todir="${reports.xml.dir}"> <fileset dir="${classes.dir}"> <include name="**/generated/AllTests.class" /> </fileset> </batchtest> </junit> <junitreport todir="${reports.xml.dir}"> <fileset dir="${reports.xml.dir}"> <include name="TEST-*.xml" /> </fileset> <report format="frames" todir="${reports.html.dir}" /> </junitreport> Then I get the following output ( when using fork="true"): java.lang.reflect.InvocationTargetException at sun.reflect.NativeMethodAccessorImpl.invoke0(Native Method) at sun.reflect.NativeMethodAccessorImpl.invoke(NativeMethodAccessorImpl.java:39) at sun.reflect.DelegatingMethodAccessorImpl.invoke(DelegatingMethodAccessorImpl.java:25) at java.lang.reflect.Method.invoke(Method.java:585) at net.sourceforge.cobertura.util.FileLocker.lock(FileLocker.java:124) at net.sourceforge.cobertura.coveragedata.ProjectData.saveGlobalProjectData(ProjectData.java:331) at net.sourceforge.cobertura.coveragedata.SaveTimer.run(SaveTimer.java:31) at java.lang.Thread.run(Thread.java:595) Caused by: java.io.IOException: No locks available at sun.nio.ch.FileChannelImpl.lock0(Native Method) at sun.nio.ch.FileChannelImpl.lock(FileChannelImpl.java:784) at java.nio.channels.FileChannel.lock(FileChannel.java:865) ... 8 more --------------------------------------- Unable to get lock on /vobs/rnc/rrt/roam2/roamSs/RoamMao_swb/RoamMao_bldu/ant_build/cobertura.ser.lock: null This is known to happen on Linux kernel 2.6.20. Make sure cobertura.jar is in the root classpath of the jvm process running the instrumented code. If the instrumented code is running in a web server, this means cobertura.jar should be in the web server's lib directory. Don't put multiple copies of cobertura.jar in different WEB-INF/lib directories. Only one classloader should load cobertura. It should be the root classloader. I am using Ant 1.7.0 and cobertura 1.9.2. Any ideas why there is no coverage? Test run ok as I see in my target. I have tried to switch java versions ( 1.5.0_06 and 1.6.0_10) but no difference.

  • Trouble getting Flash socket policy file to work.

    - by Alex
Basically I'm using Flash to connect to a Java server. Despite my Java application replying to the , in the Flash debug log it lists (not sure about the order as there are lots): * Security Sandbox Violation * Connection to 192.168.1.86:4049 halted - not permitted from http://127.0.0.1:8888/Current/wander.swf Warning: Timeout on xmlsocket://192.168.1.86:4049 (at 3 seconds) while waiting for socket policy file. This should not cause any problems, but see http://www.adobe.com/go/strict_policy_files for an explanation. Error: Request for resource at xmlsocket://192.168.1.86:4049 by requestor from http://127.0.0.1:8888/Current/wander.swf is denied due to lack of policy file permissions. What I don't understand is, the server (port 4049) receives the request, outputs the policy file and then closes the connection, surely it shouldn't time out? The policy file I'm using is: <?xml version="1.0"?> <cross-domain-policy><allow-access-from domain="*" to-ports="*" /> </cross-domain-policy>

  • How to retry opening a properties file in Java

  • HttpURLConnection does not read the whole respnse

    - by Peter Szanto
    I use HttpURLConnection to do HTTP POST but I dont always get back the full response. I wanted to debug the problem, but when I step through each line it worked. I thought it must be a timing issue so I added Thread.sleep and it really made my code work, but this is only a temporary workaround. I wonder why is this happening and how to solve. Here is my code: URL u = new URL(url); URLConnection c = u.openConnection(); InputStream in = null; String mediaType = null; if (c instanceof HttpURLConnection) { //c.setConnectTimeout(1000000); //c.setReadTimeout(1000000); HttpURLConnection h = (HttpURLConnection)c; h.setRequestMethod("POST"); //h.setChunkedStreamingMode(-1); setAccept(h, expectedMimeType); h.setRequestProperty("Content-Type", inputMimeType); for(String key: httpHeaders.keySet()) { h.setRequestProperty(key, httpHeaders.get(key)); if (logger.isDebugEnabled()) { logger.debug("Request property key : " + key + " / value : " + httpHeaders.get(key)); } } h.setDoOutput(true); h.connect(); OutputStream out = h.getOutputStream(); out.write(input.getBytes()); out.close(); mediaType = h.getContentType(); logger.debug(" ------------------ sleep ------------------ START"); try { Thread.sleep(2000); } catch (InterruptedException e) { e.printStackTrace(); } logger.debug(" ------------------ sleep ------------------ END"); if (h.getResponseCode() < 400) { in = h.getInputStream(); } else { in = h.getErrorStream(); } It genearates the following HTTP headers POST /emailauthentication/ HTTP/1.1 Accept: application/xml Content-Type: application/xml Authorization: OAuth oauth_consumer_key="b465472b-d872-42b9-030e-4e74b9b60e39",oauth_nonce="YnDb5eepuLm%2Fbs",oauth_signature="dbN%2FWeWs2G00mk%2BX6uIi3thJxlM%3D", oauth_signature_method="HMAC-SHA1", oauth_timestamp="1276524919", oauth_token="", oauth_version="1.0" User-Agent: Java/1.6.0_20 Host: test:6580 Connection: keep-alive Content-Length: 1107 In other posts it was suggested to turn off keep-alive by using the http.keepAlive=false system property, I tried that and the headers changed to POST /emailauthentication/ HTTP/1.1 Accept: application/xml Content-Type: application/xml Authorization: OAuth oauth_consumer_key="b465472b-d872-42b9-030e-4e74b9b60e39", oauth_nonce="Eaiezrj6X4Ttt0", oauth_signature="ND9fAdZMqbYPR2j%2FXUCZmI90rSI%3D", oauth_signature_method="HMAC-SHA1", oauth_timestamp="1276526608", oauth_token="", oauth_version="1.0" User-Agent: Java/1.6.0_20 Host: test:6580 Connection: close Content-Length: 1107 the Connection header is "close" but I still cannot read the whole response.
