  • First request too slow even if I have a load balancer in the back

    - by adrian7
I have an Apache 2 on Centos + bind with a wordpress website on it (e.g example.com). I have also set up, on another server in a different contry a load balancer (varnish:80 + nginx 127.0.0.1:8080) for it - which task is to server all static content under /wp-content/. Using Simple DNS editor I added an A entry to cdn.example.com pointing to the server's IP. So no extra work from a 2nd dns server. Then using htaccess I redirect all requests to jpg|gif|css|js files to cdn.example.com. That works and all files are saved on the "cdn" server and served right away. My problem is that for the first time I enter on example.com (e.g after restarting the computer or closing the browser) the load time is 1 up to 3 seconds, while any subsequent page loads take only 300 to 600 miliseconds. I know it might be a DNS issue, but I have done a cache check on several websites and cdn.example.com indicates the right IP. Do you have any ideas where I should dig to solve this first-time slowness?

  • MySQL com_select?

    - by symcbean
I'm looking to tune my query cache a bit. According to 7.6.3.4. Query Cache Status and Maintenance in the manual: The Com_select value is given by this formula: Qcache_inserts + Qcache_not_cached + queries with errors found during the column-privileges check However in 5.1.5. Server Status Variables it suggests that this is maintained by the DBMS. Having said that mysql> show status like 'Com_select%'; Always returns a value of 1 - and I'm pretty sure I've run more than one non-cached select query on my database since it started. It looks as if other people are similarly confused. Is this status variable redundant? Which bit of the manual is wrong? TIA

  • Slackware 12 - installed cairo but cannot be seen

    - by piro
Hi. I wanted to install gtk+ 2.16.5, so i also installed glib, pango and cairo. All seemed to work well, except for cairo. At first I got an error while configuring: Requested 'cairo = 1.6' but version of cairo is 1.4.12 I installed the newest version of cairo without any problems, i rebooted the comp and when i started the configure again the same thing happened and it showed me the same error. I also can see this: Consider adjusting the PKG_CONFIG_PATH environment variable if you installed software in a non-standard prefix. Alternatively, you may set the environment variables BASE_DEPENDENCIES_CFLAGS and BASE_DEPENDENCIES_LIBS to avoid the need to call pkg-config. See the pkg-config man page for more details. Can someone help me ? Thanks.

  • How to best propagate changes upwards a hierarchical structure for binding?

    - by H.B.
If i have a folder-like structure that uses the composite design pattern and i bind the root folder to a TreeView. It would be quite useful if i can display certain properties that are being accumulated from the folder's contents. The question is, how do i best inform the folder that changes occurred in a child-element so that the accumulative properties get updated? The context in which i need this is a small RSS-FeedReader i am trying to make. This are the most important objects and aspects of my model: Composite interface: public interface IFeedComposite : INotifyPropertyChanged { string Title { get; set; } int UnreadFeedItemsCount { get; } ObservableCollection<FeedItem> FeedItems { get; } } FeedComposite (aka Folder) public class FeedComposite : BindableObject, IFeedComposite { private string title = ""; public string Title { get { return title; } set { title = value; NotifyPropertyChanged("Title"); } } private ObservableCollection<IFeedComposite> children = new ObservableCollection<IFeedComposite>(); public ObservableCollection<IFeedComposite> Children { get { return children; } set { children.Clear(); foreach (IFeedComposite item in value) { children.Add(item); } NotifyPropertyChanged("Children"); } } public FeedComposite() { } public FeedComposite(string title) { Title = title; } public ObservableCollection<FeedItem> FeedItems { get { ObservableCollection<FeedItem> feedItems = new ObservableCollection<FeedItem>(); foreach (IFeedComposite child in Children) { foreach (FeedItem item in child.FeedItems) { feedItems.Add(item); } } return feedItems; } } public int UnreadFeedItemsCount { get { return (from i in FeedItems where i.IsUnread select i).Count(); } } Feed: public class Feed : BindableObject, IFeedComposite { private string url = ""; public string Url { get { return url; } set { url = value; NotifyPropertyChanged("Url"); } } ... private ObservableCollection<FeedItem> feedItems = new ObservableCollection<FeedItem>(); public ObservableCollection<FeedItem> FeedItems { get { return feedItems; } set { feedItems.Clear(); foreach (FeedItem item in value) { AddFeedItem(item); } NotifyPropertyChanged("Items"); } } public int UnreadFeedItemsCount { get { return (from i in FeedItems where i.IsUnread select i).Count(); } } public Feed() { } public Feed(string url) { Url = url; } Ok, so here's the thing, if i bind a TextBlock.Text to the UnreadFeedItemsCount there won't be simple notifications when an item is marked unread, so one of my approaches has been to handle the PropertyChanged event of every FeedItem and if the IsUnread-Property is changed i have my Feed make a notification that the property UnreadFeedItemsCount has been changed. With this approach i also need to handle all PropertyChanged events of all Feeds and FeedComposites in Children of FeedComposite, from the sound of it, it should be obvious that this is not such a very good idea, you need to be very careful that items never get added or removed to any collection without having attached the PropertyChanged event handler first and things like that. Also: What do i do with the CollectionChanged-Events which necessarily also cause a change in the sum of the unread items count? Sounds like more event handling fun. It is such a mess, it would be great if anyone has an elegant solution to this since i don't want the feed-reader to end up as awful as my first attempt years ago when i didn't even know about DataBinding...

  • Cisco 2911 - problem with DHCP

    - by bluszcz
Hi, i am configuring DHCP daemon on Cisco 2911. At some point i assigned address 192.168.50.50 to one box (using MAC address 'relation'). When I wanted to saved config - I got warning, that address 192.168.50.50 is already in Pool, which sounds bit weird - it was first host which I started configuring. I tried with following commands: clear ip dhcp server statistics clear ip dhcp conflict but first one doesn't output anything (and show statistics shows that there are 2 addresses in pool), and second one throws "there is no conflicted ips" message. How I can force/purge/clear/allow to bind 192.168.50.50 to this box?

  • Having internet on a VirtualBox

    - by S4M
I am running a linux laptop and I set up a VirtualBox under windows XP. My only problem is the VirtualBox doesn't seem to be connected to internet - When I do the connection diagnosis it tells me there is no connection. I am using an NAT adapter, and I bind the port 80 from my computer to the port 80 of the VirtualBox, and same for the ports 8080, but still no result. I would be grateful is someone could help me to sort this out. EDIT: thinking of it, what is making the problem hard - and painful - is the absence of error message. If I try to use a given adapter to share my computer's connection with the VirtualBox, and it doesn't work, I have no way to know why. So, it would be really helpful if someone could share a way to access this king of information (is there a log file somewhere or a way to run VirtualBox from command line in a verbose mode?).

  • CMD: Append to path without duplicating it?

    - by Horst Walter
For one CMD session I can easily set a new path: SET PATH=%PATH%;"insert custom path here" Doing so in a batch file does not consider whether the custom path is already included. How do I avoid duplicating it (i.e. check whether it is already contained in the PATH "string"). Remarks: Related: How do I append user-defined environment variables to the system variable PATH in Windows 7? Related: How can I permanently append an entry into the system's PATH variable, via command line? Same question for UNIX: Add directory to $PATH if it's not already there

  • Modify PATH variable for X11 during log-in

    - by user1028435
I am working on some lab computers (read: no administrative rights) that, if I log in, I need to change the PATH variable as X11 starts. The reason is that I need to change the PATH variable at this time, as opposed to later, is that the Print Screen command seems to "bind" during login (forgive my bad explanation of this). Currently, I have a .bashrc script as a workaround: #!/bin/bash export PATH=/home/username/bin:$PATH I can make it work by starting a new X, but I was wondering if it is possible to change upon login. cat /etc/redhat-release tells me my distribution is: Red Hat Enterprise Linux Client release 5.8 (Tikanga)

  • How to get data from struts2 action with jQuery?

    - by Rafa Romero
I have an Struts2 Web with GoogleMaps. I want to load a list of markers which are saved in a SQL DDBB. To do this, I tried with jQuery and Ajax. Here you are the code: loadMarkers.java public class loadMarkers extends ActionSupport implements ServletRequestAware,ServletResponseAware{ //Variables de sesion/cookie FunctionClass ses; protected HttpServletResponse servletResponse; protected HttpServletRequest servletRequest; private String userID=""; //Variables del marker private List<marker> markersList = new ArrayList<marker>(); public String execute() throws Exception{ FunctionClass friends = new FunctionClass(); //Leemos de la cookie for(Cookie c : servletRequest.getCookies()) { if (c.getName().equals("userID")) userID = (c.getValue()); } System.out.println("en el loadMarkers"); connectionBBDD con = new connectionBBDD(); markersList = con.loadMarkers(userID); return SUCCESS; } I want to use the markerList array in Javascript, to create the markers. This is the struts.xml file: <package name="jsonActions" namespace="/test" extends="json-default"> <action name="LoadMarkers" class="web.localizadroid.maps.loadMarkers"> <interceptor-ref name="basicStack"/> <result type="json"> <param name="root">markersList</param> </result> </action> </package> And here you are the Javascript (jQuery) code: function loadMarkersJ(){ alert("dentro"); $.ajax({ type : "post", url : "LoadMarkers", dataType: "json", success : function(data) { alert(data); var image = new google.maps.MarkerImage ('http://i53.tinypic.com/ettquh.png'); var jSon_Object = eval("(" + data + ")"); //For para analizar los datos (Json) obtenidos de la BBDD for (x = 0; x < jSon_Object.length; x++) { var markersArray = []; var myLatlng = new google.maps.LatLng(jSon_Object[x].lat, jSon_Object[x].lon); markerLoaded = new google.maps.Marker( { position : myLatlng, map : map, icon: image, title: "NOMBRE: " + jSon_Object[x].tarjetName + "\n" + "ANOTACIONES: " + jSon_Object[x].anotaciones + "\n" + "TIME: " + jSon_Object[x].time }); markersArray.push(markerLoaded); if (markersArray) { for (i in markersArray) { alert("entro en forColocaMarkers"); if (markersArray[i].getAnimation() != null) { markersArray[i].setAnimation(null); } else { markersArray[i].setAnimation(google.maps.Animation.BOUNCE); } markersArray[i].setMap(map); } } } } }); } From success : function(data) { to the end, is JavaScript code to create de markers, and this it's OK. The problem is whith ajax, because I don't get to obtain markerList Array by jSon data return...I think that the problem is in the url attribute from $.ajax...I tried loadMarkers.action and loadMarkers, but nothing happens. When I execute the web, only prints the alert alert("dentro"), the alert alert(data) never has been printed. I have forgotten to add the code where I call the Javascript function (loadMarkersJ). Here you are: <p><s:a action="LoadMarkers.action" namespace="/test" onclick="loadMarkersJ(this)">Cargar Marcadores S</s:a></p> Somebody can help me please?

  • Nested %..% representation in Windows 7

    - by prosseek
In order to organize the PATH environment, I came up with the following method. Setup variable : ABC = "PATH1;PATH2" Set the path variable using the predefined setup variable : Path = %ABC%%DEF% ... It seems to work fine, but I found that some of the variables are not transfomred into real paths when I run the set command. (I mean, the PATH=PATH1;PATH2;%DEF%, for example). What I found was as follows. If the variable name has '_', Windows can't transform it. If the variable has the path with %...% variable, windows can't transform it. Q1 : Am I correct? Q2 : If so, is there a way to by pass the nested %...% varibale problem?

  • Binding Entity Framework Collections Simply Using ASP.NET MVC

    - by jpcmorton
To begin with: Using Entity Framework v4.0. ASP.NET MVC 2.0. Visual Studio 2010. I have a model that consists simply of an order & order items. What I want to do is simply bind that model without too much hassle where possible (avoiding type converters, etc). Simply the model looks like this: public class Order { public int ID { get; set; } public string OrderNumber { get; set; } public EntityCollection<OrderItem> Items { get; set; } } public class OrderItem { public int ID { get; set; } public string Qty { get; set; } } This is as simple as I want to keep it. This model is coming directly from the code generated by the entity framework generator. I would prefer to use the model directly from the entity framework (I know there are views saying this is a bad thing, but alas). I then have the View looking like this: <% using (Html.BeginForm()) {%> <%: Html.ValidationSummary(true) %> <fieldset> <legend>Fields</legend> <div class="editor-label"> <%: Html.LabelFor(model => model.ID) %> </div> <div class="editor-field"> <%: Html.TextBoxFor(model => model.ID) %> <%: Html.ValidationMessageFor(model => model.ID) %> </div> <div class="editor-label"> <%: Html.LabelFor(model => model.OrderNumber) %> </div> <div class="editor-field"> <%: Html.TextBoxFor(model => model.OrderNumber)%> <%: Html.ValidationMessageFor(model => model.OrderNumber)%> </div> <div id="lineItems"> Where I need to put my line items to be edited, inserted </div> <p> <input type="submit" value="Create" /> </p> </fieldset> <% } %> What I want to do is have a situation where I can use dynamic line items (using javascript). Problems are this: How to go about inserting the initial line item (within the lineItems div). This need to be strongly typed and use the built in validation framework of MVC. Best way to go about inserting line items dynamically so that on the postback there is a complete bind to the model without too much messing around (id = 1,2,3,4, etc). Any help, examples, tips, etc would be appreciated.

  • What is a descriptive name for a web service that responds with plain text?

    - by Rich Shealer
I'm looking for the proper name for a web service that responds with text as opposed to XML. As an example this "cardServer" service will return 5 cards for a poker hand. http://hostname:8080/cardServer/deal/Game=Poker&Qty=5 The result could look like this: Card1=Ad Card2=Kc Card3=Ts Card4=5d Card5=3d The real world example is not as trivial, but the concept is the same. Parameters if any are passed as POST variables. We currently parse the response into a string list and use the values. The process works just fine. What I'm wondering if this service method has a name that has easier tools to deal with the responses and therefore did we reinvent the wheel? For the record the service was provided and maintained by a customer.

  • Catch headset pause/play keypresses in Windows

    - by akshay2000
I have a new Ultrabook which has single audio jack for input and output instead for separate 3.5 mm jacks we used to have on older machines. The jack is probably similar to American Audio Jack specification or like the one found on Macbook Pro. I have tried to use it with the Apple, HTC, Nokia earphones which ship with most of the smartphones. Microphone on the headset works the way it should. Thing is that the headsets also come with remote controls to control volume and playback. I am sure that those key presses are sent to the Windows. I was hoping to catch those events and bind those to actual media keys so that I can control music playback. I guess this happens on Macs. I want to do the similar thing on the Windows. I'm just not sure where I can catch the events. Driver level? Application level?

  • ADO program to list members of a large group.

    - by AlexGomez
Hi everyone, I'm attempting to list all the members in a Active Directory group using ADO. The problem I have is that many of these groups have over 1500 members and ADSI cannot handle more than 1500 items in a multi-valued attribute. Fortunately I came across Richard Muller's wonderful VBScript that handles more than 1500 members at http://www.rlmueller.net/DocumentLargeGroup.htm I modified his code as shown below so that I can list ALL the groups and its memberships in a certain OU. However, I'm keeping getting the exception shown below: "ADODB.Recordset: Item cannot be found in the collection corresponding to the requested name or ordinal." My program appears to get stuck at: strPath = adoRecordset.Fields("ADsPath").Value Set objGroup = GetObject(strPath) All I am doing above is issuing the query to get back a recordset consisting of the ADsPath for each group in the OU. It then walks through the recordset and grabs the ADsPath for the first group and store its in a variable named strPath; we then use the value of that variable to bind to the group account for that group. It really should work! Any idea why the code below doesn't work for me? Any pointers will be great appreciated. Thanks. Option Explicit Dim objRootDSE, strDNSDomain, adoCommand Dim adoConnection, strBase, strAttributes Dim strFilter, strQuery, adoRecordset Dim strDN, intCount, blnLast, intLowRange Dim intHighRange, intRangeStep, objField Dim objGroup, objMember, strName ' Determine DNS domain name. • Binding services to localhost and using SSH tunnels - can requests be forged?

    - by Martin
Given a typical webserver, with Apache2, common PHP scripts and a DNS server, would it be sufficient from a security perspective to bind administration interfaces like phpmyadmin to localhost and access it via SSH tunnels? Or could somebody, who knew eg. that phpmyadmin (or any other commonly availible script) is listening at a certain port on localhost easily forge requests that would be executed if no other authentication was present? In other words: could somebody from somewhere in the internet easily forge a request, so that the webserver would accept it, thinking it originated from 127.0.0.1 if the server is listening on 127.0.0.1 only? If there were a risk, could it be somehow dealt with on a lower level than the application, eg. by using iptables? The idea being, that if someone found a weakness in a php script or apache, the network would still block this request because it did not arrive via a SSH-tunnel?

  • Event handle in drop-down menu.

    - by QLiu
Hello fellows, I am trying to develop a dynamic drop down menu by a customized widget style The custom widget has two main features: Read user's location cookies variable to set the proper contact phone number in the CP pages When users select on the drop down menu, it triggers onChange event, it re-select the contact phone number based on users' selections, but it won't reset the location cookies. My widgets conatins two files: Controller.php: Simply one, it uses to handle get cookies variables class serial extends Widget { function __construct() { parent::__construct(); } function generateWidgetInformation() { $this->info['notes'] = "Serial Number search Box"; } function getData() { //Get cookies code will go here, and pass to view.php $this->data['locale'] = 'gb';// for test purpose now } } view.php is about Presentation layer contains HTML, which get the data from my controller <div style="border: 1px solid black; display: block;" id="<?=$this->instanceID;?>"></div> <script>locale2contact('<?=$this->data['locale']?>', '<?=$this->instanceID;?>');</script> And then the Javascript function, call locale2contact var element_id =''; //Define Global Variables, //Receive the cookies locale, and instance id from view.php function locale2contact(locale, instance_id) { var details = ''; this.element_id=instance_id; //assing the instance id into global variable // alert(instance_id); //Check whether we got the instance id from view files if (locale == 'gb') details = 'UK Contact Details<br>' + build_dropdown(locale); else if (locale == 'fr') details = 'French Contact Details<br>'+build_dropdown(locale); else if (locale == 'be') details = 'Belgian Contact Details<br>'+ build_dropdown(locale); else details = 'Unknown Contact Detail'; writeContactInfo(details); } //Build the drop down menu with pre-selected option by using cookies. function build_dropdown(locale) { var dropdown = '<select onChange=changeContactInfo(this.options[selectedIndex].text)>'; dropdown += '<option' + (locale == 'gb' ? ' selected' : '') + '>Belgium</option>'; dropdown += '</select>'; return dropdown; } // Not smart way in here, once the people select the drop down box, it reselect the drop down menu and reset the contact info function changeContactInfo(selected) { var details =''; //alert(this.element_id); //alert(locale); if (selected == 'UK') details = 'UK Contact Details<br>' + build_dropdown2(selected); else if (selected == 'fr') details = 'French Contact Details<br>'+ build_dropdown2(selected); else if (selected == 'Belgium') details = 'Belgian Contact Details<br>'+ build_dropdown2(selected); else details = 'Unknown Contact Detail'; writeContactInfo(details); } //Build the drop down menu function build_dropdown2(selected) { var dropdown = '<select onChange=changeContactInfo(this.options[selectedIndex].text)>'; dropdown += '<option' + (selected == 'UK' ? ' selected' : '') + '>UK</option>'; dropdown += '<option' + (selected == 'Belgium' ? ' selected' : '') + '>Belgium</option>'; dropdown += '</select>'; return dropdown; } //Back to view function writeContactInfo(details) { document.getElementById(this.element_id).innerHTML = details; //update the instance field in view } Javascript function is not efficient. As you see, I got two similar duplicate functions to handle events. Users go to the page, the widget read the cookies variable to display contact info (locale2contact)and preselect the drop-down menu (function build_dropdown) If users select the drop down menu, the displya contact info change (function changeContactInfo), and then I need to rebuild the drop down menu with user previously selection (function build_dropdown2). I am looking for best practices for adding this functionality to RightNow widget. Thank you. I really do not like the way i am doing now. It works; but the code looks bad.

  • How can I add a previous button to this Jquery Content Slider?

    - by user1269988
    I did this nice tutorial for a Jquery Content Slider: http://brenelz.com/blog/build-a-content-slider-with-jquery/ Here is my test page: http://www.gregquinn.com/oneworld/brenez_slider_test.html But the Left button is hidden on the first slide and I do not want it to be. I don't know much about jquery but I tried to set the left button from opacity o to 100 or 1 and it didn't work the button showed up once but did not work. Does anyone know how to do this? Here is the code: (function($) { $.fn.ContentSlider = function(options) { var defaults = { leftBtn : 'images/panel_previous_btn.gif', rightBtn : 'images/panel_next_btn.gif', width : '900px', height : '400px', speed : 400, easing : 'easeOutQuad', textResize : false, IE_h2 : '26px', IE_p : '11px' } var defaultWidth = defaults.width; var o = $.extend(defaults, options); var w = parseInt(o.width); var n = this.children('.cs_wrapper').children('.cs_slider').children('.cs_article').length; var x = -1*w*n+w; // Minimum left value var p = parseInt(o.width)/parseInt(defaultWidth); var thisInstance = this.attr('id'); var inuse = false; // Prevents colliding animations function moveSlider(d, b) { var l = parseInt(b.siblings('.cs_wrapper').children('.cs_slider').css('left')); if(isNaN(l)) { var l = 0; } var m = (d=='left') ? l-w : l+w; if(m<=0&&m>=x) { b .siblings('.cs_wrapper') .children('.cs_slider') .animate({ 'left':m+'px' }, o.speed, o.easing, function() { inuse=false; }); if(b.attr('class')=='cs_leftBtn') { var thisBtn = $('#'+thisInstance+' .cs_leftBtn'); var otherBtn = $('#'+thisInstance+' .cs_rightBtn'); } else { var thisBtn = $('#'+thisInstance+' .cs_rightBtn'); var otherBtn = $('#'+thisInstance+' .cs_leftBtn'); } if(m==0||m==x) { thisBtn.animate({ 'opacity':'0' }, o.speed, o.easing, function() { thisBtn.hide(); }); } if(otherBtn.css('opacity')=='0') { otherBtn.show().animate({ 'opacity':'1' }, { duration:o.speed, easing:o.easing }); } } } function vCenterBtns(b) { // Safari and IE don't seem to like the CSS used to vertically center // the buttons, so we'll force it with this function var mid = parseInt(o.height)/2; b .find('.cs_leftBtn img').css({ 'top':mid+'px', 'padding':0 }).end() .find('.cs_rightBtn img').css({ 'top':mid+'px', 'padding':0 }); } return this.each(function() { $(this) // Set the width and height of the div to the defined size .css({ width:o.width, height:o.height }) // Add the buttons to move left and right .prepend('<a href="#" class="cs_leftBtn"><img src="'+o.leftBtn+'" /></a>') .append('<a href="#" class="cs_rightBtn"><img src="'+o.rightBtn+'" /></a>') // Dig down to the article div elements .find('.cs_article') // Set the width and height of the div to the defined size .css({ width:o.width, height:o.height }) .end() // Animate the entrance of the buttons .find('.cs_leftBtn') .css('opacity','0') .hide() .end() .find('.cs_rightBtn') .hide() .animate({ 'width':'show' }); // Resize the font to match the bounding box if(o.textResize===true) { var h2FontSize = $(this).find('h2').css('font-size'); var pFontSize = $(this).find('p').css('font-size'); $.each(jQuery.browser, function(i) { if($.browser.msie) { h2FontSize = o.IE_h2; pFontSize = o.IE_p; } }); $(this).find('h2').css({ 'font-size' : parseFloat(h2FontSize)*p+'px', 'margin-left' : '66%' }); $(this).find('p').css({ 'font-size' : parseFloat(pFontSize)*p+'px', 'margin-left' : '66%' }); $(this).find('.readmore').css({ 'font-size' : parseFloat(pFontSize)*p+'px', 'margin-left' : '66%' }); } // Store a copy of the button in a variable to pass to moveSlider() var leftBtn = $(this).children('.cs_leftBtn'); leftBtn.bind('click', function() { if(inuse===false) { inuse = true; moveSlider('right', leftBtn); } return false; // Keep the link from firing }); // Store a copy of the button in a variable to pass to moveSlider() var rightBtn = $(this).children('.cs_rightBtn'); rightBtn.bind('click', function() { if(inuse===false) { inuse=true; moveSlider('left', rightBtn); } return false; // Keep the link from firing }); }); } })(jQuery)

  • Some $_SERVER parameters missing when accessing PHP script via Cron

    - by Jakobud
I have a script that I need to run with PHP via cron. The original author of the script made a lot of user of certain $_SERVER parameters (like REQUEST_URI). But it appears that certain variables don't exist when running PHP via command line or via CRON. For example, there is no request uri, so it makes sense that the REQUEST_URI parameter wouldn't be available. Is there any way around this other than to completely rewrite the script in order to avoid using special $_SERVER parameters that aren't universally available?

  • What are good and bad jitter times for a LAN

    - by garyb32234234
Ive just ran jperf (frontend to iperf) on our network between 2 workstations, its recorded jitter between 0.033ms and 0.048ms. Is this good or bad? Are there more variables that i would need to consider to make the decision? EDIT: TCP/IP Ethernet LAN 43 PCs 1 server, 100Mbits main switch, various small 8 port switches, test was done using UDP, Its a Windows Domain. I want to instal a few voip softphones on the workstations, see how many i can use that reliably work, im testing a few different workstations around the network to see where the best quality network paths are. Will also change some equipment if i identify bad connections.
