    Possible Duplicate: Why use other number bases when programming My coworkers and I have been bending our minds to figuring out why anyone would go out of their way to program numbers in a base other than base 10. I suggested that perhaps you could optimize longer equations by putting the variables in the correct base you are working with (for instance, if you have only sets of 5 of something with no remainders you could use base 5), but I'm not sure if that's true. Any thoughts?

  • Add animation when user control get visible and collapsed In Wpf

    I have two xaml files MainWindow.xaml and other user control WorkDetail.xaml file. MainWindow.xaml file has a textbox, button, listbox and reference to WorkDetail.xaml(user control which is collapsed). Whenever user enter any text, it gets added in listbox when the add button is clicked. When any items from the listbox is double clicked, the visibility of WorkDetail.xaml is set to Visible and it gets displayed. In WorkDetail.xaml (user control) it has textblock and button. The Textblock displays the text of selected item and close button sets the visibility of WorkDetail window to collapsed. Now i am trying to animate WorkDetail.xaml when it gets visible and collapse. When any items from listbox is double clicked and WorkDetail.xaml visibility is set to visible, i want to create an animation of moving WorkDetail.xaml window from right to left on MainWindow. When Close button from WorkDetail.xaml file is clicked and WorkDetail.xaml file is collapsed, i want to slide the WorkDetail.xaml file from left to right from MainWindow.     I am using the JQuery Slider control for use as a double sided slider (dual slider). It's a great UI control but I'm looking for an alternative that isn't so "fat". Right now, just for me to use the Slider control, I have to include: JQuery core JQuery UI core JQuery Slider plugin When I both minimize using Google's awesome Closure (minimizer) and GZIP the JavaScript, I'm still at around 29kb. Question: Do any comparable (dual) Slider control exist that isn't such a large download?

  • Howto - Running Redmine on mongrel as a service on windows

    I use Redmine on Mongrel as a project manager and I use a batch file (start-redmine.bat) to start the redmine in mongrel. There are 2 issues with my setup: 1. I have a running IIS on the server that occupies the HTTP port (80) 2. The start-redmine.bat must be periodically checked to see if it's stopped after a restart that is caused by windows update service. for the first issue, I have no choice but running mongrel on a port like 3000 and for the second issue I have to create a windows service that runs automatically in the background when the windows starts; and here comes the trouble! There are at least 3 ways to run redmine as a service that I'm aware of; none of them can satisfy a performance view on this subject. you may read about them on http://stackoverflow.com/questions/877943/how-to-configure-a-rails-app-redmine-to-run-as-a-service-on-windows I tried them all. The easiest way to setup such a service is using mongrel_service approach; in 3 lines of command you're done. but the performance is significantly lower than running that batch file... Now, I wanna show you my approach: First suppose we have ruby installed into c:\ruby and we have issued the command gem install mongrel to get the mongrel gem installed into c:\ruby\bin Also, suppose we have installed the Redmine into a folder like c:\redmine; and we have ruby's path (i.e. c:\ruby\bin) in our PATH environment variable. Now Download and install the Windows NT Resource Kit Tools from microsoft website. Open the command-line tool that comes with the Resource Kit (from start menu). Use instsrv to install a dummy service called Redmine using the following command: "[path-to-instsrv.exe]\instsrv" Redmine "[path-to-srvany.exe]\srvany.exe" in my case (which is the default case) it was something like this: "C:\Program Files\Windows Resource Kits\Tools\instsrv" Redmine "C:\Program Files\Windows Resource Kits\Tools\srvany.exe" Now create the batch file. Open a notepad and paste these instructions into it and then save it as "c:\redmine\start-redmine.bat" @echo off cd c:\redmine\ mongrel_rails start -a 0.0.0.0 -p 3000 -e production Now we need to configure that dummy service we had created before. WATCH OUT WHAT YOU'RE DOING FROM HERE ON, OR YOU MAY CORRUPT YOUR WINDOWS. To configure that service, open windows registry editor (Start - Run - regedit) and navigate to this node: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Redmine Right-Click on "Redmine" node and using the context menu, create a new key called Parameters (New - Key) Right-Click on "Parameters" and create a String Value property called Application. Do this again and create another String Value called AppParameters. Now Double-click on "Application" and put cmd.exe into "Value data" section. Then Double-click on "AppParameters" and put /C "C:\redmine\start-redmine.bat" into Value data section. We're done! issue this command to run the redmine on mongrel as a service: net start Redmine

  • WPF FlowDocument: force calculation of height etc. "off screen"

    My target: a DocumentPaginator which takes a FlowDocument with a table, which splits the table to fit the pagesize and repeat the header/footer (special tagged TableRowGroups) on every page. For splitting the table I have to know the heights of its rows. While building the FlowDocument-table by code, the height/width of the TableRows are 0 (of course). If I assign this document to a FlowDocumentScrollViewer (PageSize is set), the heights etc. are calculated. Is this possible without using an UI-bound object? Instantiating a FlowDocumentScrollViewer which is not bound to a window doesn't force the pagination/calculation of the heights. The call of "Arrange" forces the FlowDocument to calculate its heights etc. I would like to know, what the FlowDocumentScrollViewer is doing with the FlowDocument, so I can do it without the UIElement.     I'm looking for a way to remove lines within multiple csv files, in bash using sed, awk or anything appropriate where the file ends in 0. So there are multiple csv files, their format is: EXAMPLEfoo,60,6 EXAMPLEbar,30,10 EXAMPLElong,60,0 EXAMPLEcon,120,6 EXAMPLEdev,60,0 EXAMPLErandom,30,6 So the file will be amended to: EXAMPLEfoo,60,6 EXAMPLEbar,30,10 EXAMPLEcon,120,6 EXAMPLErandom,30,6 A problem which I can see arising is distinguishing between double digits that end in zero and 0 itself. So any ideas?

    I have a cell in a spreadsheet that is a date object in Excel but becomes a double (something like 39820.0 for 1/7/2009) when it comes out of C1's xls class. I read this is a Julian date format. Can someone tell me how to parse it back into a DateTime in C#? Update: It looks like I might not have a Julian date, but instead the number of days since Dec 30, 1899.

    Hi, I've this: JSON.parse('{"130.00000001":{"p_cod":"130.00000001","value":"130.00000001 HDD Upgrade to 2x 250GB HDD 2.5\" SATA2 7200rpm"}}'); http://www.jsonlint.com/ says it's perfectly valid json. But on execution I have a JSON.parse error. But, if I change my code to: JSON.parse('{"130.00000001":{"p_cod":"130.00000001","value":"130.00000001 HDD Upgrade to 2x 250GB HDD 2.5\\" SATA2 7200rpm"}}'); (note the double backslash) It works, but now jsonlint gives me invalid json :/ Can someone help to understand this behavior?

    I am using sample code of AudioStream.zip,but when i use this to play Mp3 file , it gives wrong total amount of playing time(after played completely through streaming).... i checked through downloading that Mp3 file into Document Directory and played in Itune it exactly is played for 2.10 seconds.but in streaming through that code(- (double)progress method) gives total playing time only 2.3 sec, is there any sample code for AudioStreaming except that one to give right Total playing Time?

Click PageFlow in the top left corner of the editor pane to display the visual navigation editor. I can't find that PageFlow mentioned. Where should I look for that button in the IDE? Am I missing any plugin or something?

    This picture shows a debugging session. "lista" is a NSMutableArray containing, in this case, two elements: 0 and 1. Each element's content is seen on the debugging window as {(unichar *)Xcode_CFStringSummary($VAR, $ID)}:s but if I double click on any element, its value shows on a pop up window. Why is the values don't showing directly? How to force Xcode to show the values instead of this stupid and useless "{(unichar *)Xcode_CFStringSummary($VAR, $ID)}:s" ? thanks for any help.

    so I'm trying to make a program that will output the sum, average, and smallest and largest values. I have everything basically figured out except the smallest and largest values are outputting 2147483647 and -2147483647, which I believe are the absolute smallest and largest values that Java will compute. Anyway, I want to compute the numbers that a user enters, so this obviously isn't correct. Here is my class.
