  • automating write conflict messages

    - by archer
is there any method to avoid the annoying write conflict messages by automating and hiding the process so that it doesn't appear as if the program is defective? there doesn't seem to be any point to these messages anyway as there is only one real choice which is to drop the changes.

  • IoC / Dependency Injection - please explain code versus XML

    - by steve.macdonald
I understand basically how IoC frameworks work, however one thing I don't quite get is how code-based config is supposed to work. With XML I understand how you could add a new assembly to a deployed application, then change the config in XML to include it. If the application is already deployed (i.e., compiled in some form) then how can code changes be made without recompiling? Or is that what people do, just change config in code and recompile?

  • Mercurial: Creating a diff of two commits

    - by DerKuchen
Is there a way to get the changes of two commits with mercurial? The second commit is not directly after the first one, there are some other ones between them. I tried hg diff [some params] --change xxxxx --change yyyyy > file.patch but that only includes the last changeset. If there is no way to achieve this with hg, is there maybe a tool to combine patches?

  • How to attach to the jQuery Autocomplete plugin's mouse events?

    - by Tommy B
My problem is this: I need to update some text in a div with the value of what the mouse pointer is hovering over in the autocomplete drop down list. Can it be done easily, or do I have to make fundamental changes to the Autocomplete plugin? I am using the jQuery Autocomplete plugin version 1.1 by Jörn Zaefferer. Any and all help will be greatly appreciated!

  • Git - git add in a gitignore directory

    - by Steve
If my .gitignore file has tmp\ in it and I do a git add file.test from tmp, Git adds file.test to the repository. If file.test never changes, than this is as good as a one time add to the repository, right? Say for static files that I want to be in version control. You want the file in an initial clone and that's it. I assume file.test doesn't get tracked, so if there are updates, Git doesn't see it as modified?

  • disable scrolling to cell in focus

    - by Victor
I have a jtable inside of a scrollpane. how can i stop the scrollpane from scrolling up or down when a cell that is partly out of view gains focus? the problem is i am setting the cells to editable when the user mouses over them, so when you mouse over a cell that's partly out of view, the view changes suddenly. I don't like this behaviour. any ideas on how to change it?

  • jQuery plugin validate() : apply plugin to ajax injected form

    - by pixelboy
My issue here is quite simple : i'm trying to use the jQuery validate plugin to a form that gets injected after certain user actions. My problem mostly is that : I could use live support to bind the change event over inputs, like this $("#adresseLivraisonPro").live('change',function(e){ $("#adresseLivraisonPro").validate({ But this makes my form validated if and only if user changes inputs... How would you surround that problem ?

    - by Daniel
I would like to add an anchor that would be styled to look like the other items(with some minor changes), but instead of animating, would just go to the set link. is there a way of doing this, or should I just switch to this accordion menu and redo the css to include the images?

  • How to clear the entire second level cache in NHibernate

    - by Bittercoder
I wish to clear the entire second level cache in NHibernate via code. Is there a way to do this which is independent of the cache provider being used? (we have customers using both memcache and syscache within the same application). We wish to clear the entire cache because changes external the database would have occurred (which we have no guarantees re: which tables/entities were affected).

  • How to add entity object to adequate entity set with object context in EF?

    - by Levelbit
I have a problem when I add an entity object with ObjectContext.AddObject method because I can't retrieve that object with LINQ querying my ObjectContext.Person entities. I know that this new added object is stored somewhere, because it is used to update database after SaveChanges method. That's bothers me because I want to update my datagrid DataContext without saving changes unless I really want to do it. It doesn't help if I add the same object to DataContext list myself directly.

  • Menu item for each module, with module content loading dynamically with Prism or MEF

    - by user573145
I am developing an application currently using Prism and MEF. I would ideally like to generate a toolbar or menu with an item for each module, and when an item is clicked, only the views declared within that module load into a tab control. For example: Menu Region: ModuleA(Selected) | ModuleB Tab Region: ModuleAViewA | ModuleAViewB | ModuleAViewC Changes to Menu Region: Employees | Inventory(selected) Tab Region: Items | In Fi

  • Conditional ESC, ideas?

    - by Tony
I often need to enter insert mode just to make changes on a specific line, and would like know if there is a way to enter insert mode in a way that when I am done editing on that line, hitting [Return] gets me back to normal mode. I am aware of the 'r' command for replacing a single character, I guess what I want is something like that but for a line.

  • how close to excel ergonimics can you make jqgrid

    - by oo
I have been looking through [this jqgrid documentation][1] and see the example: i wanted to see how close you can get to data entry that is close to excel like moving arrows keys changes selection supporting Copy and paste from one cell to another column fills for a particular value. Is this asking to much for the web? If its not possible, are there other third party asp.net mvc components that do have these capabilities.
