  • Get window handle from window class name

    I'm trying to get a window handle on a child window in my process and the only information I have is the window class name. Are there any win32 functions I can use for that? I'm doing this from C#. A bit more detail: This is a Visual Studio plugin, written in C#. So my process is visual studio, which has lots of windows. One of them has a window class "VsTipWindow". I don't know the immediate parent window of that window, all I have is the class name. Is there any way for me to get the window handle from just that?

    I'm trying to create a class which contains a static pointer to an instance of itself. Here's an example: A.h: #include <iostream> #ifndef _A_H #define _A_H class A { static A * a; }; A * a = NULL; #endif However, when I include A.h in another file, such as: #include "A.h" class B { }; I get the following error: ld: duplicate symbol _a in /Users/helixed/Desktop/Example/build/Example.build/Debug/Example.build/Objects-normal/x86_64/B.o and /Users/helixed/Desktop/Example/build/Example.build/Debug/Examplebuild/Objects-normal/x86_64/A.o I'm using the Xcode default compiler on Mac OS X Snow Leopard.   • Unit Testing in QTestLib - running single test / tests in class / all tests

    I'm just starting to use QTestLib. I have gone through the manual and tutorial. Although I understand how to create tests, I'm just not getting how to make those tests convenient to run. My unit test background is NUnit and MSTest. In those environments, it was trivial (using a GUI, at least) to alternate between running a single test, or all tests in a single test class, or all tests in the entire project, just by clicking the right button. All I'm seeing in QTestLib is either you use the QTEST_MAIN macro to run the tests in a single class, then compile and test each file separately; or use QTest::qExec() in main() to define which objects to test, and then manually change that and recompile when you want to add/remove test classes. I'm sure I'm missing something. I'd like to be able to easily: Run a single test method Run the tests in an entire class Run all tests Any of those would call the appropriate setup / teardown functions.

  • Can I tweak a page's appearance using Google Chrome's developer tools?

    When I'm working on a web page layout, I often use Firefox and Firebug to tweak the CSS until it looks right, then modify my style sheet to match. Right now, I'm trying to fix something that looks fine in other browsers but wrong in Google Chrome. I have pulled up Chrome's Developer Tools, and can inspect the computed style, but don't see a way to edit values and see the results on my page. Is there a way to do this?

    This is probably a stupid question, but what's the best way to clear class variables between instances? I know I could reset each variable individually in the constructor; but is there a way to do this in bulk? Or am I doing something totally wrong that requires a different approach?     I have a container (div) with a background image. In this div there is a menu - a horizontal list. What I need is to insert an image onMouseOver, positioning it absolutely, and showing it behind the text (of course!) AND on top of the div's background image. I also use jQuery, but I think this doesn't matter. The problem can be viewed online. How to call the parent's function using the same object?     I need to create control to draw border around its child. So, I have created class and derived it from Decorator: class RoundedBoxDecorator : Decorator { protected override Size ArrangeOverride(Size arrangeSize) { //some source } protected override void OnRender(DrawingContext dc) { //some source } } It works fine, but I have some doubts about using Decorator as ancestor. I have found in MSDN that there are no special methods or properties in it, only derived from its ancestors (UIElement or FrameworkElement). ArrangeOverride and OnRender are also derived. So, what for Decorator class was designed and does it makes sense to use it? Or I can derive from FrameworkElement?

  • jQuery jScrollPane - it simply won't work! :'(

    Hey folks, OK - I'll admit, I'm quite a beginner in this jQuery-department. I've probably made some amateur mistake, but hey, you gotta learn somewhere! :) So I'm using jScrollPane: http://www.kelvinluck.com/assets/jquery/jScrollPane/jScrollPane.html I want to use it style the scrollable area in my second column. Specifically, I would like to apply and format the scrollbars on the div #ajaxresults My page is... rather jQuery heavy. I don't know if any variables are conflicting or something... in fact I really have no idea at all why this isn't working. I've set, as the jScrollPane docs say, overflow:auto on it but still no luck. I find that when jScrollPane DOES seem to 'run' it just moves the div down about 100 pixels. Try it for yourself. Perhaps someone could help? There's quite a few jQuery plugins there so I don't know if something's colliding/crashing etc... Please note the site is still in development between myself and a friend, which explains the personal messages we submit to each other ('Hi Donnie!' etc. :D ). Also, when you view the page nothing may appear in the second column for a few seconds - it's just fetching the data via Ajax. So give it a little time. Thanks very much! Jack

    Hello there, I'm experimenting with C# 4.0's dynamic object model. I've created an abstract class named "Block" that inherits from DynamicObject. It overrides TryGetMember and TrySetMember. Furthermore I've created a usable class named "Brush" that inherits from "Block". I want it to be usable dynamically. But when I create a dynamic object from it and try to access a runtime bound member, it pelts me with an exception telling me that the member doesn't exist. The overridden TryGetMember or TrySetMember methods of the abstract parent class aren't getting called. Is this behaviour to be expected? Thank you!

I created the following function: $("#loginLink, #registerLink") .click(function () { $('#loginLink').prop('disabled', true); $('#registerLink').prop('disabled', true); dialog(this); }); It calls the dialog correctly but doesn't disable the links and if I click the buttons more than once it calls up more than one dialog box. Is there something I am doing wrong? I can't see why it would not work.
