I want to generate something like: aZeEe9E Right now I'm using MD5, which doesn't generate case-sensitive hashes. What is a good way to generate a hash value consisting of upper- and lower- case characters + numbers?

• Does Python/Scipy have a firls( ) replacement (i.e. a weighted, least squares, FIR filter design)?

  I am porting code from Matlab to Python and am having trouble finding a replacement for the firls( ) routine. It is used for, least-squares linear-phase Finite Impulse Response (FIR) filter design. I looked at scipy.signal and nothing there looked like it would do the trick. Of course I was able to replace my remez and freqz algorithsm, so that's good. On one blog I found an algorithm that implemented this filter without weighting, but I need one with weights. Thanks, David

• scripting fruityloops or propellerheads reason from VB or Python?

  I have both Fruityloops and Propellerheads Reason software synths on my Windows PC. Any way I can get at and script these from either Visual Basic or Python? Or at least send Midi messages to the synths from code? Update : attempts to use something like a "midi-mapper" (thanks for link MusiGenesis) don't seem to work. I don't think Reason or FL Studio act like standard GM Midi synths. Update 2 : If you're interested in this question, check out this too.

• How do I abort a socket.recv() from another thread in python?

  I have a main thread that waits for connection. It spawns client threads that will echo the response from the client (telnet in this case). But say that I want to close down all sockets and all threads after some time, like after 1 connection. How would I do? If I do clientSocket.close() from the main thread, it won't stop doing the recv. The dragonflyBSD exports file like this: /tank -mapall=root windows-client and i setup my windows 2008 a NFS client all right. There is my win cmd to mount NFS. mount \\dragonfly-server\tank e:\ After finished my configuration. I found the windows client can mount the remote tank partition. And i can create a file or a dir. But when i try to delete the file i just create. It alerts permission deny. You must have the permission.And the same result when i try to write to the text i create in the NFS partition I don't know why i just can create the file through NFS, but can't do any thing else. Is there any body can help?
