Mac OS X Server Configure DHCP Options 66 and 67

I need to configure Mountain Lion (10.8.2) OS X Server BOOTP to provide DHCP options 66 and 67 to provide PXE booting for PCs on my network. I have tried following the bootpd MAN pages, but they are not specific enough. I have also read conflicting information on the net, but nothing definitive for Mountain Lion DHCP. From bootpd man page: bootpd has a built-in type conversion table for many more options, mostly those specified in RFC 2132, and will try to convert from whatever type the option appears in the property list to the binary, packet format. For example, if bootpd knows that the type of the option is an IP address or list of IP addresses, it converts from the string form of the IP address to the binary, network byte order numeric value. If the type of the option is a numeric value, it converts from string, integer, or boolean, to the proper sized, network byte-order numeric value. Regardless of whether bootpd knows the type of the option or not, you can always specify the DHCP option using the data property list type <key>dhcp_option_128</key> <data> AAqV1Tzo </data> My TFTP server is 172.16.152.20 and the bootfile is pxelinux.0 I have edited /etc/bootpd.plist and added the following to the subnet dict: <key>dhcp_option_66</key> <data> LW4gLWUgrBCYFAo= </data> <key>dhcp_option_67</key> <data> LW4gLWUgcHhlbGludXguMAo= </data> According to the man page, the data elements are supposed to be Base64 encoded, but no matter what I try, I cannot get PXE clients to boot. I have tried encoding 172.16.152.20 using various methods: echo "172.16.152.20" | openssl enc -base64 returns MTcyLjE2LjE1Mi4yMAo= DHCP Option Code Utility (http://mac.softpedia.com/get/Internet-Utilities/DHCP-Option-Code-Utility.shtml) generating a string from 172.16.152.20 yields: LW4gLWUgMTcyLjE2LjE1Mi4yMAo= (used in the above example) DHCP Option Code Utility generating an IP Addresss from 172.16.152.20 yields: LW4gLWUgrBCYFAo= Encoding pxelinux.0 with the above methods likewise yields different encodings. I have tried using all three methods of encoding the data elements, but nothing seems to work i.e. my PXE boot clients do not get directed to my TFTP server. Can anyone help? Regards, Paul Adams.

Empty responseText from XMLHttpRequest

I have written an XMLHttpRequest which runs fine but returns an empty responseText. I can walk through and I get the readyState == 4 and a status == 200 but the responseText is always blank. I am getting a log error (in Safari debug) of Error dispatching: getProperties which I cannot seem to find reference to. I have run the code in Safari and Firefox both locally and on a remote server. The URL when put into a browser will return the string and give a status code of 200. I wrote similar code to the same URL in a Mac Widget which runs fine, but the same code in a browser never returns a result.

Session Cookies and IE 8

I recently built a simple web-app deployed over Tomcat. The app uses pretty standard session based security where a user who has logged in is given a session. Sessions work fine in Firefox and Chrome, but require the use of jsessionid in the URL for IE (tested 7 & 8), set to medium privacy. In IE 8, I tried to override cookie handling, setting "Allow all 3rd party cookies" and "Allow all session cookies"- no dice. However, when I run Tomcat on my local machine, IE accepts the cookie, and sessions work just fine. And now, for the HTTP headers. [SOLVED] BitmapFactory.decodeStream returning null when options are set.

Hi! I'm having issues with BitmapFactory.decodeStream(inputStream). When using it without options, it will return an image. But when I use it with options as in .decodeStream(inputStream, null, options) it never returns Bitmaps. What I'm trying to do is to downsample a Bitmap before I actually load it to save memory. I've read some good guides, but none using .decodeStream. Integrating CKFinder with InnovaStudio WYSIWYG Editor

I use InnovaStudio WYSIWYG Editor, and I am trying to replace InnovaStudio's Asset Manager with CKFinder. There's a line in the editor configuration for what URL to use for the asset manager. I have pointed it at CKFinder. The part I can't get to work is getting the field to populate with the double-clicked file's path from CKFinder. It appears to use the 'func' parameter to specify the callback function. The URL I'm calling is: /common/ckfinder/ckfinder.html?action=js&func=setAssetValue The InnovaStudio WYSIWYG Editor provides the setAssetValue(v) callback function for setting the field value. The v parameter should hold the URL. CKFinder pops up as expected when it's invoked, but neither double-clicking the thumbnails nor using the "select" option in the context menu works. The normal/expected behavior is that CKFinder closes and the target field is populated with the URL for the selected asset. Additional Info: The InnovaStudio WYSIWYG Editor has a "popup" for adding an image or flash file to the content. This pop-up is in an iframe. When it calls CKFinder (or it's own asset manager), that is also in an iframe. It appears that CKFinder is looking in the scope of the main window rather than the image/flash iframe that actually contains the field that needs to be populated.

I get an empty response back from this local WebService call via jquery / ajax. I have verified the URL and XML input string by invoking the call in a browser. I DO get XML code back as expected. What am I missing? Could it have something to do with the return type "XmlDocument"? I have tried changing out text/xml to text. No affect. Tried a GET instead of POST. Cannot add Authorization field to HttpsUrlConnection in order to complete Basic authentication

If I print the values out, the method shows up as POST, but the request parameters collection is still empty. I would love to be able to print the request and understand what's going on, but I could not figure out how to print the content of an output buffer. Any ideas? Thanks! ES

NSURL URLWithString: raises exception

In short, [NSURL URLWithString:] appears to be raising an exception. According to the documentation "If the string was malformed, returns nil." There is no mention of an exception being raised under any circumstance. In addition to this, I am both encoding the URL and checking for nil before converting the string to a URL. Can anyone offer any advice as to which exception it could be or what other error checking I should be doing before converting the URL? Update (14/7/2009): Seems like such a hack, but I added an exception block around the suspect line. I also raised a Radar bug report (#7031551) suggesting that the code should match the documentation.

For now, that's fine, because I only have very few records, but when I have thousands of ; will it be convenient to bring all the data at once? What I would like to know is : Is there any way to query the database every time I press the number of an specific page? I ask this cause I don't think is a good idea to load all the data in one go, is it? Using Diskpart in a PowerShell script won't allow script to reuse drive letter

I built a script that mounts (attach) a VHD using Diskpart, cleans out some system files and then unmounts (detach) it. It uses a foreach loop and is suppose to clean multiple VHD using the same drive letter. However, after the 1st VHD it fails. I also noticed that when I try to manually attach a VHD with diskpart, diskpart succeeds, the Disk Manager shows the disk with the correct drive letter, but within the same PoSH instance I can not connect (set-location) to that drive. If I do a manual diskpart when I 1st open PoSH I can attach and detach all I want and I get the drive letter every time. Is there something I need to do to reset diskpart in the script? hi, I have been in web programming for 2 years (Self taught - a biology researcher by profession). I designed a small wiki with needed functionalities and a scientific RTE - ofcourse lot is expected. I used mootools framework and AJAX extensively. I was always curious when ever I saw the query strings passed from URL. Long encrypted query string directly getting passed to the server. Especially Google's design is such. I think this is the start of providing a Web Service to a client - I guess. Now, my question is : is this a special, highly professional, efficient / advanced web design technique to communicate queries via the URL ? I always felt that direct URL based communication is faster. Map/Reduce on an array of hashes in CouchDB

Hello everyone, I am looking for a map/reduce function to calculate the status in a Design Document. Below you can see an example document from my current database. { "_id": "0238f1414f2f95a47266ca43709a6591", "_rev": "22-24a741981b4de71f33cc70c7e5744442", "status": "retrieved image urls", "term": "Lucas Winter", "urls": [ { "status": "retrieved", "url": "http://...." }, { "status": "retrieved", "url": "http://..." } ], "search_depth": 1, "possible_labels": { "gender": "male" }, "couchrest-type": "SearchTerm" } I'd like to get rid of the status key and rather calculate it from the statuses of the urls. My current by_status view looks like the following: function(doc) { if (doc['status']) { emit(doc['status'], null); } } I tried some things but nothing actually works. Right now my Map Function looks like this: function(doc) { if(doc.urls){ emit(doc._id, doc.urls) } } And my Reduce Function function(key, value, rereduce){ var reduced_status = "retrieved" for(var url in value){ if(url.status=="new"){ reduced_status = "new"; } } return reduced_status; } The result is that I get retrieved everywhere which is definitely not right. I tried to narrow down the problem and it seems to be that value is no array, when I use the following Reduce Function I get length 1 everywhere, which is impossible because I have 12 documents in my database, each containing between 20 to 200 urls function(key, value, rereduce){ return value.length; } What am I doing wrong? (I know I want you to write code for me and I'm feeling guilty, but right now I do the calculation of the statuses in ruby after getting the data from the database. It would be nice to already get the right data from the database)

drupal using node.save with XMLRPC call to another site. "Access Denied" message

I have a piece of code on 1 drupal site to create a node another drupal site in a multi-site setup. It looks like I'm getting the sessionid and logging in just fine, but when trying to create a "page" node, I get "Access denied". Under Services - Settings I have "Key Authentication", "Use keys" is unchecked, and "Use sessid" is checked. Looking for input on GWT / MVP action w/o browser history change

Hello there, I am trying to develop a GWT app with the MVP pattern. So far so good except for one specific case of actions: actions that do not change the url (no browser history change). In the GWT MVP pattern, events are sent from presenters, the an app controller catches them and update the browser history. If the history has changed then the view updates. ** MVP with history change (Works well)** Current URL is /list User clicks on contactdelete button. Fire DeleteContactAction event. App controller catches, change history to 'delete' onValueChange is called if (token.equals("delete")) delete contact screen, then delete contact Fire ContactDeletedEvent app controller catches and change the history to list onValueChange is called: contact list refreshes GWT MVP pattern for dialog box w/o history changes ** Issue ** - I use a dialog box and I don't want to change the browser history, so here is the problem: Current URL is /list User clicks on contactdelete button. Contact is deleted Fire ContactDeletedEvent. App controller catches, change history to 'list' **onValueChange is NOT called** because url is already /list and there is no change # problem: contact list does not refresh Question: does anyone know a pattern to implement this in the context of MVP? Any help / idea appreciated.

Use multiple WSGI mount points in Apache with an Nginx reverse proxy

I am trying to set up multiple virtual hosts on the same server with Nginx and Apache and have run into a curious configuration issue. I have nginx is configured with a generic upstream to apache. upstream backend { server 1.1.1.1:8080; } I'm trying to set up multiple subdomains in nginx that hit different mountpoints in apache. Each would act like the following examples. server { listen 80; server_name foo.yoursite.com; location / { proxy_pass http://backend/bar/; include /etc/nginx/proxy.conf; } ... } server { listen 80; server_name delta.yoursite.com; location / { proxy_pass http://backend/gamma/; include /etc/nginx/proxy.conf; } ... } These mountpoints are pointed at django projects, however each of the url entries are coming back prepended with the apache mountpoint path. So, if I called the django url entry for foo.yoursite.com/wiki/biz/, django appears to be returning foo.yoursite.com/bar/wiki/biz/. Similarly, if I call for the url entry for delta.yoursite.com/wiki/biz/, I get delta.yoursite.com/gamma/wiki/biz/. Is there any way get rid of the prefix being returned on the url entries by django and apache?

Obtaining MAC address

According to Obtain client MAC address in ASP.NET Application, it is not possible. I am not entirely convinced because whenever I connect to Tim Hortons WiFi, my MAC address is known. Occasionally, the network is slow and I see this URL like this before being redirected to the Connect page: http://timhortonswifi.com/cp/tdl3/index.asp ?cmd=login &switchip=172.30.129.73 &mac=60:6c:66:17:1a:83 &ip=10.40.66.229 &essid=Tim%20Hortons%20WiFi &apname=TDL-ON-NEP-02177-WAP1 &apgroup=02177 &url=http%3A%2F%2Fweather%2Egc%2Eca%2Fcity%2Fpages%2Fon-72_metric_e%2Ehtml So according to this URL, the site knows the IP address of the router, my MAC address, the IP address assigned to my device by the router, the network SSID, some other pieces of information, and the URL I was trying to access prior to connecting. There's two options: Tim Hortons WiFi Basic and Tim Hortons WiFi Plus, where the "Plus" option allows me to connect to any Tim Hortons WiFi access point in Canada automatically with this device. Registration requires an email address, so I'm assuming this is possible by checking the MAC address and storing it in a database that routers ping upon connection. More info here. According to the extension of this page, I can safely assume it is ASP. How are they obtaining this information?

After Filter redirects to login.jsp, proper servlet doesnt get called

My simple project structure is shown in this link. I am using Eclipse and Tomcat 6. There is login.jsp which submits its form to login_servlet. The login_servlet sets a session variable and then redirects to home.jsp. The home.jsp file has links to the 4 JSP files under a directory called /sam. In web.xml I have given the url-pattern as /sam/* for the LogFiler filter. The LogFilter just reads the session variable and does doChain(request,resposne) if valid, else it redirects to /login.jsp. RequestDispatcher rd = request.getRequestDispatcher("/login.jsp"); rd.forward(request,response); Basically I don't want anyone to access files inside /sam directory directly. Now let's say, I try to directly access a file inside /sam directory, the filter kicks in and the redirection to login.jsp works and even the broswers contents are that of login.jsp, but the url in the browser doesn't change. When I enter details and press submit, instead of sending the data to login_servlet, it sends it to sam/login_servlet and then tomcat tells me there is no such servlet here! Obviously there isn't. My doubt is why is it sending it so sam/login_servlet instead of /login_servlet which is usually what it does when I start running the login.jsp on my own. One more thing, is there a way I can apply the servlet to ONLY .jsp files inside /sam diectory? I tried giving the url-pattern like /sam/*.jsp, but Tomcat was refusing to accept that url-pattern.
